You didn’t mention an absolutely HUGE benefit of reaching 50 Concurrent receipt! Once a retire reaches 50, they receive both VA compensation pay AND military retirement pay, as apposed to the comp amount just offsetting the retirement pay at less than 50 Surely you must realize you have a fair amount of retirees that watch your channel right? CR clearly is far and away the biggest benefit for retirees reaching that threshold

I would recommend to skip the Veteran Banking Program and instead use USAA I've had and still have many financial accounts in many different institutions but USAA is the best and most complete solution for vets

Notified on 10/10/2024 that my VA disability claim was approved, giving me a combined rating of 50, with an effective date of 08/21/2023 Have yet to receive back pay for my disability and back pay for my military retirement pay that was withheld, totally approximately $15K The notification letter said I should get back pay within 7-10 days, but nothing yet as of 30 days

Just this summer I my claim for my Poly Neuropathy claiming the Camp Lejeune Toxic water from 1980 was approved at 40 In 2003 my claim for Tinnitus was denied, I don't even remember getting a hearing test During the pandemic it got worse, have been having some real phantom noises in my head I did my neuropathy claim on my own and looks like its time to rehash my claim for tinnitus I don't remember what the rating is for it though?

Retired reservist here At 30 rating currently, am appealing for a higher rating Received monthly disability compensation until age 60, at which time my reservist military pension kicked in I was given a choice, i could keep either my military pension or my disability compensation but not both since my rating was not 50 or higher No one has yet been able to explain the reasoning behind this inequitable application of disability compensation with regards to retired military personnel They are two separate streams of income for two separate reasons One for sticking around for at least 20 years to serve your country and the other for disabling injuries sustained while serving your country Why is a retiree rated at 50 more entitled to keep their disability compensation than someone with a 40 rating? Buehler?

If you’re retired military, you actually start receiving the compensation money at 50 40 & lower they just give you the percentage of your retirement pay tax fee, but no extra money!

In Colorado one must be 50 permanent rating for disabled veteran plates All other benefits require a 100 t&p rating

Getting a 50 or higher rating if you’re a retiree entitles you to your retirement check and a disability pension If it’s anything lower than that, it’s just a tax break on your retirement check It’s been that way since 2004brbrI hope all those Vietnam and Korean War vets that retired from the military can get both one of these daysbrProblem is most of them never went to the doctor or psychiatrists while in, so they don’t have a case

I just got my rating and it was only 10percent! They denied my feet and said that I claimed that engroined toe nails and being overweight caused my plantar! They deferred my breathing claim so not real happy I guess I’ll need to appeal or refile? How difficult would that be? Do u recommend getting council to represent me?

I got a good one I was 100 p&t I’m 77 years old Had surgery for cancer Multiple other disabilities My cancer is in remission so they reduced me last week to 90 I’m still considered p&t because of unemployabilty and still get payed at the 100 rate because of the unemployabilty Go sort that one out Lol

Question on dependents I’m at 20 but am getting ready to file appeals for my denied claims I think I have a good chance to get above 30 and might get 50 if all goes well I currently don’t have any dependents on file since it doesn’t do anything for me at 20 Should I file to add my dependents now so that if I win my claims my back pay includes that additional pay? Or do I have to wait until I’m actually rated above 30? And if I wait, would they back pay me my additional amount to my original file date? Or only from the date I filed for dependents?
