Had a stroke September 26th it is ruin my life I lost my relationship with my fiance I lost my nursing career they say I can never work as a nurse again that was heartbreaking when I heard that for the first time I've been a nurse for 30 years no physical effects from the stroke my speech is somewhat stuttery at times ,my memory sucks and I've told that my personality change my fiance said that my personality changed and that was mean to him and I have any emotional content for him anymore I love him still I love him so much he says he don't feel no love for me anymore so you see the strokes has ruined my life Comment from : @crystallee3057 |

Hmm, i think i know EXACTLY why Im depressed, i gained weight! lol thats most of it and why i havjt wsnted to go out of the house in 10 yrs, On top of it i got asthma, i became stage 1 obese and i never was that before ( currently working on it and lost 20 pounds so far), but back in the day when i was a teen i had a normal weightbut i was bullied alot, and i always skipped school I remember crying to my mom saying i didnt want to go Actually tbh i was bullied pretty much grade 2 onwards, i had thick lenses, hearing aids at one point cuz we found out i couodnt hear well but 8 wasnt about to wear them and be made more fun of☹️, and i had braces, soo i suppose i have suffered from depression all my life, but i dont think it was always there Also im pretty sure i suffer from social anxiety, but im not sure when that started, i want to say atleast in the past 10 or 15 yrs? see, i think it has to do with the fact im alot more self aware now than i used to be especially in regards to my weight, i am so much more self aware now and so it gave me anxiety, atleast it made it 10 times more worst brbrAnyways good to know this will work for other illnesses too and not just depression Comment from : @PopCultureFan_ |

CBT - something that we can use to change a negative cycle It can work & is a process of challenging your thought - Is the thought real? What evidence do you have the thought is real? Can we change the negative thought to a helpful thinking style? - example: Believing others don't like us can make someone feel upset & hurt, and our behavior is to get upset, angry or to lash out But what if our thought was not based on a FACT! If it's just based on a feeling (feelings aren't fact - feelings don't last - feelings change) Instead of believing something negative, trying to change the thought by CHALLENGING that thought (not every negative thought is real or false- hence we challenge it) Once we challenge a negative thought & discover if it's real, - if not real, we can put in the process of trying to change how we react (we can only control our own actions & reactions- We cannot control how others act or react) Negative thoughts are often automatic & this takes practices, but it does work We can also change how we act & react to real situations, how we think & address these by using CBT Comment from : @marciaallen2682 |
