Which one sound better through headphones? Comment from : @bacoraforever |
WHen adding gain, most of these things develop overwhelming bass that you can't get rid ofit's quite annoying The positive grid is the absolute worst for this I recently tried a katana mini and really loved the brown toneoddly enough, and it's the cheapestcheaper than the katana air by a good step Comment from : @lgmnowkondo938 |
on my bass nice one Pete! Comment from : @brooklynboy1000 |
Yamaha has issues with bluetooth It needs an upgrade NUX is probably the best of the bunch Comment from : @SonorousMusic |
Why do you insist on talking over your well mannered cohost I'll know longer be tuning in Comment from : @memex56 |
The Yamaha is by far the worst sounding What are all these Yamaha shills saying in the comments? How much does Yamaha pay them? Comment from : @davor6966 |
Thank you for all of your efforts Always very helpful and entertaining :) Comment from : @l3nnashon273 |
Lee, su•x my nu•tbrI feel bad for Nu•X and how many times you destroyed their name Comment from : @welern2liv815 |
Apart from the subject, as far as drama is concerned, the interaction between these guys is very interesting already Comment from : @ThePlasticBrides |
Thank you so much for the video! Will be on the lookout for a 2025 update!!!!! (Spark Mini and 2, etc) Comment from : @virtualb01 |
I use a thr as monitors to tweek my hx stomp or other simulators using the flat mode It works fine as a return, while the main signal goes to the PA system Not sure the others do that as well Comment from : @davidplays4510 |
I think now the Spark2 beats all of these? Comment from : @xHypnoToad |
Bugera T5 Comment from : @IcanhearClemFandango |
@Andertons Music Co you guys should make a new one like this shootout, no way the Spark 2 would not turn up winner though :D Comment from : @mathias6423 |
Aghhhhhh!!! Toooo much gadgetry for me Make it stop!! Comment from : @strangemagic5502 |
I want a THR30 II and I read read so many good reviews about it and it makes me want it more, but I’ll read one bad review and it kills that But, watching this video and hearing the other amps compared to the THR makes me want the THR more It sounds so much better than the other amps And the lack of an app with all sorts of effects and amp models is what I actually like I spent way too much time messing with the NUX app on the mighty air to be able to enjoy practicing Comment from : @submersedlalo5631 |
I wish I had an ear like these guys I’m just looking to connect my HEADRUSH MX5 multi-effects to a combo amp I don’t want a FRFR amp, but I like that some are portable br Great video! Cheers! Comment from : @razziade |
Still amazes me how much worse the THR10-II chassi looks when compared to the first THR10 The chevron pattern of the first one was such a homerun in design, the Y pattern looks terrible Comment from : @ok-tchau |
I have a question please answer, can a desktop amp be connected to another amp? By example I have a Marshall valve state with a 12 inch speaker can I connect them there so it can sound louder? Comment from : @lal2235 |
Before I've watched the videobr everyone I know swears by the spark Comment from : @RhysWilliams-u3o |
This is the exact vid I needed to see this morning Comment from : @billtravis523 |
Buy any of them for the features to make it easy and want to play If you do not sound good, it’s not the amp Comment from : @ralphjurgen9456 |
No hiss in your spark ? Many people experience this hiss, I guess the world deserves to know ahah Comment from : @vivien1252 |
It doesn't have line6 or Black Star IDcore beat but it's okay for what you get for the money Comment from : @patrickshannon4516 |
THR still sounds the best Comment from : @purrpocalypse |
At low volume the THRii’s are hard to beat in the sound department Had 2 boss katana’s and the Yamaha’s sound is superior in every way There is a reason why they are expensive brGreat video, love the channel brThanks Comment from : @brianrollins7275 |
I wish hotone pulze in it too I really want to hear comparison of that Comment from : @YigitEfe_ |
BTW Which is the best for long term use, in terms of 5 years time when the app isn't supported on iPhone 26 or Samsung s34 ? Which still works with what you'd manage to set up before Comment from : @PeterTwo-qm3xk |
For me it’s not about low volume It’s the sound quality and ability to add cabinets Comment from : @DNYS8N |
Tennis teacher! Comment from : @jimmythefish |
Great presentation! Comment from : @nicolasgarcia7305 |
I think what we all really want to know is which one did Pete believe had the best real guitar amp dynamic response I do use modelers alot , I’ve had 7 of them, and a lot of them have a problem with tone suck in the front end , it ruins the dynamics of string and pick pressure And a lot of them have quite a little bit more latency than others do i’m personally looking at the NUX or the spark I would like a concise opinion upon input dynamics Comment from : @jeanguion3223 |
I got the Daneletro Honeytone new for below forty bucks here in the States and I'm satisfied I don't need much out of a practice amp, just some volume and something light in weight to play in the living room while sitting in my recliner I have full size amps for performance Comment from : @lynnglidewell7367 |
I would not give a sent to Spark I had one of the originals it lasted a couple of months and it crapped out I called Positive Grid and they wanted me to send a video of what it was doing The amp had no guitar output and just hissed I explained it to the Spark guy it was the same issue that hundreds of other Spark owners were having All I wanted was a repair ticket from Positive Grid so I could send it back and I got no help Andertons if you sell this POS product you will regret it Their customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with Your better off buying from Yahmaha im sure the quality and customer service is head and shoulders above Positive Grid Comment from : @stratplayer53 |
I liked this video for 2 reasons, Pete, and Petes slap Comment from : @Hubblereach0 |
The beauty of the thr is its simplicity and similarity to a proper amp It doesn't feel like modeling You don't kneed to use any app I only wished they put dials for the compression and maybe fır a drive pedal(something like a tube screamer) on the unit and you would never need the app Just play a backing track of your phone and start playing However I do think that Yamaha needs to improve the app slightly First of all please bring back the list of presets back from the first gen and add a ts /drive and probably an effect in the app Nothing crazy Comment from : @MrEkin03 |
I just ordered the spark 2 and it is very nice for the money ty for the video @Andertons Music Co for making this video Comment from : @layol692k7 |
Please do a review of which is best for bass guitar players - as I see a fair bit of criticism out there re using them for bass Comment from : @thomasachambers7318 |
I believe the exciting new news for the Spark 40 is that they came out with a power fl powered speaker cab that is 120 watts I bought it for my Spark 40, and it's awesome Comment from : @robertwillett4122 |
The Spark sounded muddy like a blanket thrown over it The NUX is the winner for me because of the wireless setting out of the box and like Pete, the drum mod an amazing game changer Comment from : @brianshickey |
Which of those is better to use with a keyboard? Like a casiotone cts1 for example Comment from : @overdriveproduccionaudiovi7561 |
For wireless guitar adapters go with the Swiff Audio WS70 mini digital wireless system its the best for latency and sound quality during testing at only $39 😉 Comment from : @steveclark9934 |
The Spark 2 seems to have answered all the criticisms and needed features to make it the best practice amp now Comment from : @tinkertable1977 |
NU>X for the win Except it's the ugliest/cheapest looking They really need to work on the product design aesthetics, to please the eyeballs as much as the earballs Comment from : @ItsaCatsLife |
With the Boss, it has been said when using A power cord instead of the batteries U get a humming noise in the Amp Comment from : @anthonypanepinto9685 |
My Spark 40 cost $224 delivered An amazing bargain I'd be embarrassed to nit-pick at that price Comment from : @rlarsen4562 |
I have the Nux space and the biggest seeming point for me was the battery which enables me to easily gig without worrying about a power source Comment from : @michaelavillarreal |
Spark sounds like it is your roommate playing guitar under the blanket 😂 Comment from : @gertkriel6080 |
This was brilliant! There is something for everyone in these, and the race to determine which features will be most favored over the long term is fascinating I look forward to any updatesor "next installment" in this saga! Comment from : @sbootstrap4588 |
Had the Spark 40, couldn’t bear it Sounded muddy and gave me option paralysis with all the app nonsense The previous version of the Yamaha THR I had was a pleasure to use and sounded far better I’d prefer it if they did a basic version omitting the app just like they do with the wireless option There’s just too much jazzing about trying to get it to sound reasonable rather than actually just playing the thing The manufacturers should just dial in great preset sounds from the get go Comment from : @leodare101 |
Now the Spark has a looper too Comment from : @bruceewing166 |
Mooer SD30i hands down Comment from : @bengalboy61 |
And with the Spark 2 ? Comment from : @azimut2azimut218 |
The goddamn things are probably stealing your f*b***/b music and uploading it to the goddamn cell network! Comment from : @georgepbriles696 |
Nux Mighty Lite BT MKII (newer version) is the best I've played for its size/price Prefer over Spark Mini, micro cube and mooer hornet Comment from : @davidfisher5022 |
LOOPER Use a phone app looper, record what coming out of the amp Also use drummer from Garage band and play on phone through Bluetooth on the THR Comment from : @orsoncorson9083 |
Great work on capturing the muffled sound of the Spark Really guys, whoever says the Spark is so great, try the THRs Much better sound and feel/dynamics Don't believe the hype Comment from : @ssm445 |
What is the point of using an electric guitar to show us how and acoustic amp works? WTF is in your head, man Comment from : @AnthonyClay-y6h |
Can u hook the spark up to a pc? Comment from : @hopdig |
I have the Spark Go which is great for practice Will eventually look to get something more one the Garden Room is cleared of the clutter and converted to a man cave! Guitars & Golf Clubs 😂 Comment from : @seancook2264 |
I was really wondering about changing out my pickups on my S7 too and there you said it Can I get a preloaded pickguard with all setup to this guitars? (a little off topic I know) 😛 -KK from Norway Comment from : @klinkokos67 |
Spark mostly Fly Comment from : @gergemall |
The Captain has got to STOP TALKING OVER PETE!! in every video I see it Very annoying Comment from : @adamsmith5828 |
Spark packs a ton of options, love it For the price point its really unbeatable and sounds good The perfect practice amp Comment from : @RaylanGivens123 |
I like that the NUX has the wireless and looper built in Wish the Spark 40 had an effects loop so you could put a looper pedal in it Comment from : @davva360 |
I have the Spark 40 but that Boss Katana Air Ex looks and sounds great Comment from : @divineprinciplesofrelaxtio4441 |
“The Drum Machine on the NU-X Shows up on time” lol 😂😢🤣 Comment from : @divineprinciplesofrelaxtio4441 |
Excellent comparison video, guys! Thank you Comment from : @paulreynolds0001 |
After watching this i'm definitely getting a desktop amp next!brWould love to see how the THR30II compares to the fender mustang LT40SbrbrI also wonder if using the wireless system vs cable changes the sound much Comment from : @liam314 |
I have a THR10 Gen 1, it doesn't have any wireless features, and no app, so any features in that aren't available, and it's less powerful But, it sounds pretty similar, and considering I got it for £125 2nd hand I think it's pretty good I don't need the extra features, or the power from the newer ones I love it, it's perfect for me I'm probably going to get a proper amp in the future (I'm looking at a fender mustang), but for the moment, as a uni student just messing about in my room for fun, it's great Comment from : @sbalget |
I just don't understand why Marshall doesn't do desktop amps They do amps, they do compacts bluetooth speakers, they do headphones Just crossover that 🤯 Comment from : @wasio44 |
The guy on the left should learn when to breathe and let the other guy get a sentence in I couldn't get through the entire vid, pretty annoying Comment from : @TheRealPinky050 |
The Positive Grid was not even able to find the Artist list on my iPhone to play along, but created a chaotic list It was a mess and tomorrow goes back Thanks for the video Comment from : @juanantoniomoreno9826 |
Positives grid's sparkI understand why they don't have a balanced output to run to a mixer or PA They won't be able to sell their cabinet Problem is it's so damn noisey using a headphone jack to run to a cabinet! I use a wireless system and it's workable but so stupid to have to do And that's how they connect to their own new cabinetit's so stupida headphone jack!! Put a damn balanced XLR out in the thing! If I could fine a schemetic I'd do it myself! Comment from : @cugir321 |
THR sounded like Helix and its Good ! Comment from : @lihatjalanan1979 |
As a busker I bought the Spark 40 because my Roland Street Cube Ex was lacking I set up a clean sound and run a Roland GR55 thru it Very happy for the tone Comment from : @RobtVelasquez |
Yamaha Beat them all At the end what matters the most is how good it sounds Comment from : @Mikeangelguitar |
000hh that NuX sold me! For years I've been looking for such a simple amp-looper/drum-track solution Comment from : @krimke881 |
To me the Yamaha sounds the best and definitely looks the best especially in black or white I think my next amp will be the Yamaha Comment from : @charlesshoemaker3622 |
The one thing i dont like about all these amps (i havent played one, but i want one) is that they all have the controls on the top If you are sitting in a chair and you have the amp on your desk, you cant see the controls🤷♂️ I realize its a space/size issue but just seems a lil counter-productive Comment from : @grimmdaigon2345 |
Almost two years with my Yamaha THRII30wNot just one bit of regret Though I installed the app in my compute to try some patches I got in the internet I´ve uploaded five to my unit and always play using them as a starting pointThe aesthetics of this toy are amazing and I use it on a daily basis Probably the users of other brands are as enchanted as me so in the end I´d say that all these desktop amplifiers are worth the price in terms of how much dopamine we all get from our playing time Blessed all of us for living in this era of microelectronics, fast chips and infinite backing tracks from youtube Comment from : @GorkaLlatzer |
How do people with $1000 phones get so upset about paying 300 bucks for a digital guitar rig they still need a phone to run anyway? OPINION: Just spend 400 on the Boss Katana and wear headphones, and you'll be able to use it at bigger gigs and band practice easier Comment from : @jamesdeananderson1411 |
Decent content but for god’s sake, Lee please stop interrupting Pete when he’s talking 95 of the time Lee won’t let Pete finish his thought It gets really annoying I wanna hear what Pete has to say Comment from : @guitargod2168 |
