That VOX is the one I am currently using to play The Shadows tunes direct to my strat No additional pedals needed The speed choices on the delay does the trick together with the AC VOX amp The Valve also plays a role on getting that Shads sound So happy to have found it Just my opinion

I THINK ITS WORTH MENTIONING that even though it didn’t win, Orange was the only amp that rob guessed correctly! When it came to the Katana he still wasn’t sure because he said “it’s sounds Katana-y” but when it came to the Orange, he knew it for sure

I agree with the guitar player, I think he got it spot on with his choice I turned off my monitor so could only hear the amps as well I thought the last 3 were the closes competitors especially the last amp, but preferred the very 1st one to them all on the settings that I heard, that is And so it turned out to be the VOX, who would have guessed!👍

Vox have a way of deceiving you I have a small Pathfinder 15 from the early 2000's which has an 8" speaker It sounds huge! And even being a transistor amp, it has great dynamics and the speaker breaks up nicely I can gig it if I want, I know Norah Jones does It will keep up with a drummer unless crash cymbals are a constant factor in the groove

I got a Vox VT100X about 7 years ago It's brilliant It's software is fantastic and offers lots of hidden amp and pedal modelling options Vox seemed ahead of their time with it to me Mine is set up with a tablet I have the quad cortex now but keep meaning to run it through the vt100x for the tube I imagine owning an additional vt100x and running the stereo outs from the QC into duel Vt100x for their tubes would be incredible

VT40X is my practice amp Dunno if the valve is actually in line or just for show, but it does take a couple seconds to warm up before you hear anything, so who knows, lol Favourite dirty model is the Double Rectifier, sounds really good

In the Vox v Blackstar round he says he'd use the Blackstar is a good practice amp but he'd gig with the Vox What's the difference? What makes a practice amp tone vs a gig-ing tone? Is the practice amp flatter, analytical so you hear anything and the gig amp colored in some nice aesthetic way?

It's funny how much this is a matter of preference, in the first 2 sessions Rob chose the sound I didn't like over the 1 I did I hated the Vox for sounding too muddled and bassy and he didn't like the others for being to trebley when I much preferred the clear brightness of them

How much has to do the tone setting for each? Once VOX was picked, I think by ear you will be inclined to the sound you are mostly familiar and to which you already liked the most, even considering the winner is by your side By settings I mean, Bass, Mid, Treble, etc I believe it was somehow matched but, just wondering :) brbrBtw I fell in love with that VOX Sound, you can't deny that compared to the othersspecially Fenderyou can't confuse them at all LOL

I purchased a Fender Champion 50XL with Celestion 12inch speaker because it’s the best affordable clean sounding jazz combo since the Roland JC40 for me to play abit of Porcupine Tree on as I am not a fan of the dirty fuzz sounds that the others have to offer 🎶brPs: please would you show all amp dial settings in a small box onscreen for future reference as to see all settings when being played by the shred thrasher Chappers🎉

Can we all just agree that this is just a matter of taste? With Rob being a djent/metal kind of guy, there's no way on Earth he would've preferred the Fender Champion I am surprised by the Marshall, though Fenders are and have always been more geared toward Americana/country/alt-country/bluegrass and that kind of vain They are not metal amps Also, why not choose something like a Mustang for Rob? And why did Lee not adjust any settings hardly at all?

I agree with the winner Vox has a strong performance with their Valvetronix amps I owned one for years as my second amp and I loved it It just isn’t a master of anything specifically The Blackstar was good but as the issue was across the board was poor overdrive/distortion performance Orange sounded decent but you gotta go up a class to get a much more nice sounding amp

Had my VT40X for about 8 years, and I still can't find anything better for weight and tone I like to travel light I've owned (3)Tone King, Vibro-King, (3) Victoria, you name it and I also have a 57 Vibrolux and a 67 AB763 Super ReverbThe effects it also brings just seals the deal, 20 lbs I stuffed the wall wart inside, glued it down and terminated it with a regular IEC plug Hard to beat, no winners yet!
