I have now related this to my own family culture As the mother, I need to be more involved in making a culture of values and incentivizing them I cannot change the “who” but I will be marketing it and posting it on the walls

I discovered Simon about two years ago I knew I wanted to make his message part of my life as a teacher I'm finishing up Start With Why soon I've thought a lot about what my teacher Why should be, and I've struggled to clearly define it After weeks of going back and forth, editing, reflection, changing my mind over and over, I believe I've found it Right now, it's a personal vision I've shared it with a few colleagues to mixed reactions, but that's okay I feel comfortable with my Why and work to implement it daily This video reinforces my conviction to be a force of positive changebr For those of us who have discovered that we truly belong in the classroom, we understand that we sow seeds that we may never see come to fruition, but we keep doing it day after day, year after year because we believe that we are making a differencebr I believe educators are very critical of their performance, perhaps more than other occupations We reflect, question, and doubt ourselves too much and too often, but this is also what makes us who we are We should remember what we tell our students when we see they are struggling - "You're not the first person to ever have to deal with something like this You have the ability to resolve it You don't have to do it alone How can I help?"

This is great, unless it's a school that doesn't have a purpose Schools and their staff and pupils who already have a purpose will already know it, or now know how to work it out thanks to this video But if they have purpose, they don't necessarily need to articulate it because they will attract each other organically The problem with the title of this video is that schools/teachers/pupils lacking purpose might watch it in the hope of finding direction, only to be disappointed

What I love about this clip is Simon begins the video by reading a letter from a group of teachers that want to change the culture at their school for the better The TEACHERS Not the superintendent or principal Meaning the change they will bring to that school is coming from the middle (or bottom) They are being the change they want to see 👏
