Been playing for 2 decades, those Boss Katana amps are absolutely versatile My Katana is my go to for practice, I even bought the mini katana to take on vacation and use it on the back patio outside daily (recommend rechargeable batteries)

I got an acoustic to start but hope to be able to get good enough to justify an electric at some point so these are questions of personal relevance The Katana would probably have been my first choice, but I'd be curious to see how this video would change if the more recent Positive Grid Spark release were factored in It seems to have made quite a splash but the cost difference can't be ignored For about $100, it sounds like the Katana Mini would be ample for my needs; I'd rather NOT be heard by the neighbors at this point

Fender Frontman 25 R if you can find one Clean channel, dirty channel simple foot switch headphones and input jack, Best of all a real spring reverb The speaker is ok but can be easily upgraded

I agree Dylan I have a Fender Princeton and a Boss Katana 50 with an attenuator switch for 15 watts/ 25 and 500 Watts ( RMS BTW) Ideal for home at 15 and stand up at gigs with 50 WattsThey also have a 100 Watt versionbrMine has a 12"speaker but your little amp is the point here Affordable, lots of effects, perfect for the beginner Even if you end up a great artist you can practice on a bus or plane with a Katana Oh! They are Roland amps actually and very similar to the Roland cubes

Good vid with valid argument As for myself I am a 56 yr old beginner and I am a nerd so I am going for something with more features I'm going for the Fender Mustang LT25 It's $14900 but has 50 modeling amp style options, plus plenty of effects that can be customized for each one (good for me because I can't afford effects pedals It sounds great, 25 watts ad an 8" speaker But if you are not tech savvy it might be smart to go with the Katana Mini for $50 less

I mentioned it on the photo you posted but I have one and love it It lives in the van and can easily be thrown in a backpack for hotel rooms, greenrooms etc One thing to mention is if you set the delay TIME to about 2 and set the LEVEL to 90-100 that “delay” passes as a old-school slap-back-like Reverb Play on!

Headphone out is the most important feature for me I play acoustic but made myself a single coil that allows me to hook up to my Fender "Mini Deluxe" 9volt amp It's really nice to get some solid tones running through your ear phones rather than blasting out your horrible AC DC practice runs through the whole house, especially in my case since the acoustic aspect is still there and quite loud
