Hello Rhett! Are 1970s model Gibson Solid-State amps any good? I happened across one recently and it's a very tempting price, should I snag it or pass? Comment from : @infn8loopmusic |

Love this dude I have something I would love you to try! Comment from : @neutron_audio |

I spent a good couple of hours just on mic placement I have all the different tones diagrammed in relation to the speakers Quite eye opening! Comment from : @terrypalomino |
the mic on the very edge sounded so sick!! Comment from : @ksullyy806 |
I sometimes used to Mike my amp with mic hanging down by its wire from top That was probably totally wrong 🤡 Comment from : @cdchantler |

When I was starting to intern at Studios back in the 80s big studios that had incredible Mic closets, I was asked to second on a demo session that was basically just guitar overdubs the guy brought in small vintage amps, and I was told to put them in a room off the control room about the size of a bathroom no windows I was told to point condenser mics knowing their pattern 3 ft away from the speakers at the exact same height so for example we put the speakers up on a carpeted stand and the mics would face them 3 ft away and we compressed the crap out of them with 1176s, and we were going to 2 inch tape we mixed 2 amps per track and got a massive sound one of the best lessons I ever got about recording amps Comment from : @brianwood7237 |

Just buy a cab sim Comment from : @outoflegend1332 |
This is going digital so quickly with pedals and Helix Comment from : @NoteConference |
On an open back cab, use two mics; place one in front and one behind the actual speaker; make sure the polarity is flipped on one the mics, usually the rear one If needed, wire up a cable with pins 2 and 3 reversed and clearly label it Comment from : @mvonhollen6673 |

I’m a big fan of putting it like 50 of the way in the middle I love brighter sounding guitars Comment from : @IScreamedWolf |
I do reggae rock fusion, so I got middle for guitar to get the high end but do in-between for bass, which gives it the contrast of depth from the guitar but a little more clarity since for the roll it plays Comment from : @Snickers18827 |
I love this I can use this today, like this instant brMore content like this please: simple “cheats” pros know that the rest of us can make use of Comment from : @g10ronaldinho |

Or you could just move the mike around til you find the best position for what you want Advice is always great, but don't let it spoil creativity Comment from : @simonn4077 |
Make a slide that moves mic Comment from : @godbyone |

It's not the sound thats the problem It's the price You can't mount tubes on the board It gets to hot Your $500 amp you paid $1700 for is going to burn up in 4 years of daily use That price it should be perfect Comment from : @ericolsen67vw |
What program material is played today that recording it, is worth it?br Imagine the release of a classic rock album It's far from today's music Comment from : @shop970 |
S&G Tudor is crazy Comment from : @Zimak0v |
One in the back will give it that bass end too Comment from : @beaumas |
That's why you use at least 2 mics Comment from : @jefb3705 |
Mic on the edge sounds fantastic! Comment from : @DylanWOWilliams |
Now I don't know much about micing an amp but it seems like if you put the mic directly onto the fabric of the amp there would be vibrations into the microphone Is that not a problem? Comment from : @RolandSpecialSauce |
Great example! Comment from : @implayingsomebass4753 |
