Try this again with the Spark 2 You'll find your 7 reasons have been reduced except the lights inside the box Comment from : @jeffreyduus5440 |
Spark 2 kills the THR for a practice amp Comment from : @P1GDe5tRoYeR69 |
spark 2 destroys the THR, I agree it nwasn't always the case Comment from : @diegofiorillo6412 |
No thanks I’ll continue to enjoy my Spark 2! Comment from : @hmcpimpslap480 |
Reason 8: The THR doesnt sound like it's being played through a pillow Comment from : @jacobnicoletti1235 |
Which THR amp were you using? Yamaha makes quite a few models Comment from : @jimtinter5569 |
yamaha thr just plain sounds better Comment from : @robgen06 |
I have so many issues with your review it’s the most biased think I’ve heard Comment from : @Buddyblue1 |
I had the thrii30 I never liked the sound To me it sounded like a metal cab Comment from : |
The spark 2 kills the Yamaha the spark 2 has that rich Distortion tone that the Yamaha doesn't have Yamaha is old and doesn't have that spark the spark 2 sounds a lot better than the videos do Comment from : @googlesucks5087 |
People complain about the tone of the spark and I’m like dog you get whatever tones you want sure, they don’t sound the greatest, but you can’t complain for the price Comment from : @psyched3lictoad240 |
THR does not support Linux so not for me, that phone app for the THR is nasty, we have enough RGB on computers, why would I want more on music gear Comment from : @GOTFrogqc |
You might have mentioned that the THR costs twice as much as the Spark Comment from : @joemonroe1106 |
I love a Roland micro cube GX 😅 Comment from : @Boncosfishing |
i would always choose yamaha over anything however already having one and looking for additional amp with wider range (suitable for home use and small gigs) I believe spark positive grid LIVE along with THR10, and some tc electronics pedals will serve all my needs for a very long time as I'm not a pro BTW yamaha pacifica 611 is a great asset as well Comment from : @lalon2337 |
hard pass on the Yamaha It sounds like a butt Comment from : @ShaneBryson |
Positive Grid boxers knockout all competitors in all category they fight: from lightweight (spark go) to heavyweight Comment from : @tiro_terapia |
The spark can do all of those things Hook it to your pc and it works in tandem with the Bias FX 2 software for even more amp sims, also doubles as its own audio interface And for the price… you really can’t beat the spark brbrAnd they came out with a 140w powered cabinet compatible with the spark products for even more volume for Gigs/jamsbrbrPair that with the Airstep SPK for pedal control and your home jam session and on the go gig ready Comment from : @justinmask1688 |
Seven unconvincing reasons…Thanks! Decision made! 😂 Comment from : @derin111 |
#8 the spark is alot cheaper? Comment from : @MrHotwheelz42 |
Can you get a foot switch for this? I like being able to switch effects during a jam or song without having to touch my phone Comment from : @jgfunk |
Marshall sounded much better to me Comment from : @philsalvage |
Awesome why you talk so fast???😂😂😂 Comment from : @antoniocosta5659 |
Ive had the old THR 10X for years now and still use it all the time Yamaha THR is one of the best desktops out there Comment from : @sunnys5150 |
When you see this I'm surpassed Boss simply didn't release their digital line with all the Sneaky amps enabled Instead they give 3 levels of marshall style gain and two cleans, bright or fat in character But having a Marshall followed by two versions of the same circuit in the 5150 and the SLO100 (heavily hot roded Marshall JCM800 circuits) makes them all sound like a somewhat gnarlier player over the version of the previous voice It's a shame they couldn't incorporate a lot more of the Gt100 features Put them in and the whole thing opens up a bunch of new doors Comment from : @ianyoung8392 |
There’s only a 1300$ difference Comment from : @YoungPutter |
No base 😤 Comment from : @marcnunes6916 |
I have both The best combination is running the spark through the auxiliary input on the THR 😊 Best of both worldsbut entirely uneconomical Comment from : @guitaradam2000 |
The Spark costs $200 less Comment from : @slicksalmon6948 |
Nothing about the sound Comment from : @fabsca1970 |
For #2 The Spark has 4 presets that don't need an app to control I sold my THR30 in favor of a Spark Comment from : @Smart-Alex |
I use Spark 40, Park mini and THR10II Each have their pros and cons I can say the same for electric guitars semi hollow vs jazz body vs Strat vs Les Paul or single coil vs P90 vs Humbucker pick up guitars They all have their pros and cons, but you will own them depending on your mood or type of music or sound you want when you start playing Comment from : @bjunk5344 |
Is this Rob Chappers‘ unknown cousin? 🧐 Comment from : @SirBender |
No android or iPhone app😢😮 Yamaha great product but Yamaha is behind with the times just like Fenderthis is 2023 come on Comment from : @llengford |
The THR sounds so much better, but I can see why some people would like the spark more Comment from : @Neuroanalisis |
But price tho Comment from : @rykrostheguitarist |
Bro made the most obvious paid sponsorship video, please dont go for the thr the spark is clear Comment from : @Unnamed_704 |
Is it possible to use either of these as full out monitors connected to a pc? I mean as speakers to just listen to music through it? Comment from : @chilipeet4610 |
I never tried both of them honestly What you mentioned two inputs doesn’t make sense because you need 2 outputs in order to go in two inputs in an audio interface to record those wet & dry tracks brAs an Audio Enginneer and a guitar player since my childhood I’m really disappointed about those advicesbrAt the same time I know that, postive grid are made to practice and easy to use Its confortable and easy to play Plug & Play just need to use a phone or just use the footswitch which is made for brAlso I have a PRS 25th anniversary However i will not use it as an rehearsal guitar For that any other guitar manufacturer is good for I also see that you have one in the back Everything has a reason how and why it should be used Considering as a rehearsal pratice at home, the positive grid wins brbrPS Sorry for my English it‘s only my 4th language Comment from : @andrewildschutz5356 |
Forgot to mention the difference in price Which is MASSIVE Comment from : @BAND-MAID-USA |
But the point of using your phone is so you don’t have to get a bunk ass computer application Comment from : @matthew44___89 |
Spark is so much better Comment from : @waynepunkdude |
And what are the prices of the two? I have a thr10x(the old green model) and it sounds way better I was playing in a GC and plugged into one out of curiosity It sounded very synthetic Comment from : @kiezersosay49 |
Which one sound better? Comment from : @raipramana843 |
I‘ve had the Spark for 3 years now It’s past it’s warranty and cuts in and out It’s very frustrating and unreliable nowbrbrI plan to pick one of these up I Comment from : @9StickNate |
Yeah that's really cool and all but thing is, I don't have a computer (Nobody asked) Comment from : @theentirestateofalaska4983 |
App scores 23 on Apple because it’s constantly cutting out for no reason which makes it pointless so,almost everything here doesn’t count Comment from : @AutisticCuriosity |
Positive grid’s model is based on it being a portable amp That’s why it’s tethered to your phone Comment from : @jakebaker4066 |
Meh Yamaha isn’t loud enough in my opinion to use it to jam with when teaching lessons, the speaker is also too weak, it cuts out when a playback and distorted guitar goes through it Bluetooth connectivity is also better on the Spark and the Spark is also more intuitive and less expensive Comment from : @SixStringJoy |
You can waste hours and hours tweaking and playing different presets But if you want to actually play, plug your guitar into a simple tube amp and go Comment from : @jjester7821 |
I like how you didn’t mention the price difference 😂 for what you get for the spark is no comparison Comment from : @RetroExhibitCollective |
Except almost all those things you can do on a spark as well lol wtf guess those knobs on the top of a spark are for looks Comment from : @rockothepig |
Can you play bass with the Yamaha ? I need an amp that can do both Comment from : @alexdenton6586 |
I replaced my THR with the Spark because the clean sounds on the THR were very poor Comment from : @tiagoramalhais5493 |
Very good , gives you food for thought Comment from : @Havanacuba1985 |
Next video idea : 70 reasons to pick the spark over the thr😂😂 Comment from : @piercelawless2654 |
Thank you! I feel certain with my purchase now! First things first, ima sell a bit of my gear Comment from : @staticsynergy9019 |
I have both Never touch the Yamaha since I got the Spark Comment from : @Lovell93 |
Thr5 or the spark mini, which is more suitable for the type of videos I make ? Comment from : @HeadlessG |
Can I get a Santana type of sound (fat smooth tone, lots of sustain) on EITHER of these? Comment from : @mrd572 |
u dont need a phone to change effects on spark either Comment from : @kadenzachar2582 |
Also cost twice as much Comment from : @nathbomb8958 |
For point 5, how do i connect my THR to my audio interface? I dont wanna connect it straight to my PC via USB because i would still want to use my scarlett solo as an interface Comment from : @boardlife27 |
Useful video Jason Just checking out your channel Always wondered what the fuss was about the THRs This short simplifies it!! Cheers Comment from : @pullatstrings |
Sorry if this seems stupid I don’t understand if this is an amp head or a a straight up amp does it have a speaker? Do I just plug it in and connect my guitar, and play? Comment from : @bmint |
I like both Comment from : @SlyHikari03 |
I’m so new to learning guitar that I have zero clue what this man just said Comment from : @Golf315 |
