Gold eagle is cheaper and you get more precious metal, its backed by the United States, and is highly liquid around the world Pure gold may look better, but for an investment I prefer the Eagle Comment from : @pauljacob99 |

biThe primary reason this coin has other metals/i/bbrbrbiDurability and Wear Resistance/i/bbrbr i• Gold’s Softness: Pure gold is relatively soft and prone to wear and scratching Adding a small amount of copper increases the coin’s hardness, making it more durable for handling, circulation, and storage/ibrbrbr i• Prolonging Lifespan: The addition of copper ensures that the coins can withstand frequent use without quickly losing detail or becoming damaged/i Comment from : @MINDSPARK-u6e |

Both, but i like eagles for fractional and not having to worry about capital gains tax, but the buffs with beauty and fineness Comment from : @jessewatkins6151 |

I saw a chart on APMEX that showed both a diameter of 327 MM but the eagle as 287MM thick and buffalos 295MM, They must have this backwards Comment from : @oldarkie3880 |

I am new to stacking but please address these two questions: br1 When the Eagle and the Buffalo are put on a good quality scale, Is there any weight difference between the two? I suspect the Eagle to actually weigh a little more than the Buffalo, which might make the Eagles posses the full 1oz of 24k gold if melted down 🤞br2 Regarding the $50 Gold denomination of the Eagle vs the $1 denomination of the Silver Eagle I know the Gold to Silver ratio changes, but could 50:1 Silver to Gold ratio be the intended nominal/rational/natural ratio between the two metals?brbrI recently bought two 1oz Gold Eagles I am kinda wishing now I would have purchased one of each Great video, Thanks Comment from : @dextralsword |
I like the Brittanica and Maple Leaf for their security features Comment from : @rncondie |

Would there be a problem buying and selling scuffed coins, or with abrasions ?? That way there would be no worry about handling them or having them in plastic It still is 1 oz of Gold either way??? Just asking Comment from : @ibberman |

THE MILLION DOLLAR COIN?? The Obverse Side Of The 2023 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin Has Several Unique Images All Throughout The Bristle Cone Pine Engraving A Jeweler Confirmed This When He Used A 10X Loupe And Found SEVERAL Of These Suspicious Images And He Is Currently Investigating Their Meaning The Question We Should All Be Asking Ourselves Is, What Is This Coin REALLY Telling Us? I, Myself, Enlarged The Image From The US Mint Website On My Computer, And Used A Magnifying Glass To Make The Small Details Of The Engraving As Visible As Possible And Found Several Images Myself I Am Still Trying To Figure Out What The Heck The Designer Is Subliminally Trying To Tell Me This Is A Fun Head Scratcher ALSO, Let’s Talk About The Amazing Eagle On The Reverse Side Of The Coin It Is Already Considered The Best Eagle EVER On A Coin Issued By The US Mint A Million Dollar Coin?? As The Wise Old Chinaman Said, “We Shall See”… “We Shall See” Comment from : @TunaXPress |
They are both great I kind of prefer Buffalos just because of the purity, 24K Prefer Cana Maples over Eagles for the same reason Comment from : @alanpecherer5705 |
Wouldn't it be something if one day silver became worth more than gold and now a big part of a gold eagle's value is the added silver? Comment from : @ThePeterDislikeShow |
Both are good in my opinion Comment from : @FromAmericaToJapan |
It’s a pity the Eagle is so ugly color wise When you find gold it is not that color it is like a buffalo which is why I would buy those over AE any day It needs to be pure and yellow Comment from : @rideplayrepeat3941 |
What is the weight of both coins Comment from : @michelboudreau3801 |
9:34 It's harder to damage because of the 5 Copper and not because of the silver, silver is almost as soft as gold Comment from : @USA |
I love both of them, both beautiful for different reasons The purity of the 24k Buffalos I love but the copper spots bother mebrIt makes me wonder if Maples copper spot also? Comment from : @homesteadaquarius |
I've been a gold bar guy except for a couple maples But I think I'm gonna buy a buffalo Comment from : @shannondalton7381 |
The composition of the American eagles are for durability Its not as soft as the buffalo because of the copper within Both are beautiful coins Comment from : @charlesmcabee9496 |
I don't understand why gold is still in the Treasury department book at like $42 oz Comment from : @jbthecook |
Gold Buffalo 🪙 🦬 without a doubt Comment from : @brenthardenburg4920 |
jm bullion is one company who openly posts buy-back prices and the spread is smaller on the gold eagle, larger on the buffalo Right now the eagle would be the better of the two Comment from : @ah5836 |
Gold Buffalo 90 percent of the time Gold Eagles 20 percent since new design is not great for me looks like chicken head outside my choice would be Brittiana 99 percent just beautiful Comment from : @robertm8380 |
if you were to sell them are they just the price of the weight in gold or do either have a special premium in private sales to? Comment from : @DiamondGunProduction |
Have to say the Buffalo slightly edges out the AGE because of its 24kt composition and better overall lookI have found that traveling internationally with these and selling that they are top tier and highly desirable, always gotten well above what I pay when sold abroad Comment from : @igglybiggly6951 |
Eagle it’s edges are equal , it’s higher quality than the Buffalo due to the softness of the Buffalo and they stack evenly Comment from : @Carlito153 |

Buffalos and maples for me 🥰 Comment from : @201sovereign |
I love both coins, but my preference on purely esthetic grounds is the gold Buffalo I absolutely LOVE that design, but I do agree that the Gold American Eagle does have the minor advantages mentioned in the video I have held both in hand and just enjoyed the look and feel of the Buffalo a wee bit more Such a fabulous bullion coin and a great tribute to the classic Buffalo Nickel! Comment from : @marianmoses9604 |
U could have taken them out of the case for us Class it up a bit Comment from : @edw5208 |

Question: Is there any difference in the premium between a proof buffalo or eagle verses they typical business strike? Comment from : @wfermier |
I just wish they'd start doing fractional buffalos again I think it'd be the most popular coin to buy today but it'd be nice to have a security feature on them since they'd be easily counterfeited Comment from : @AnxiousStacker |
I only have the Eagle in 1/10th ounce No Buffalo My favorite 1 ounce is my Engelhard bar Comment from : @mimaroo1431 |
I like both but depends on the premium or if one of them is on sale Last gold i bought was a Buffalo in April from online bullion dealer that ended up being slabbed (NGC MS69) Comment from : @50beers70 |
If I'm buying an ozt I'm getting the Buffalo Comment from : @B29p |
I prefer Eagles, but my next purchase will be a Buffalo just because I'd like to have one to hold and look at Comment from : @IMDunn-oy9cd |
They are both beautiful coins but I personally like the Buffalo design the best If they'd use the original St Gaudens design my opinion would be different but I don't see that happening It's funny that some folks don't think there's as much gold in an Eagle I've encountered that too and I have no idea what these people are thinking Comment from : @TheQuickSilver101 |
Screw auto incorrect, it changes the Speg or Spegtacular slmost every time 😅 Comment from : @aaronwilliams9968 |
31103 gs of AU is a troy ounce They are the same, with the exception of Soegs couple coins Bullion round vs a numismatic round Second the hardness of the eagle due tonthe added copper gives it a harder finished gold oroduct and ultimately less easily damaged brLove the videos Speg!!! Comment from : @aaronwilliams9968 |
i really want the mint to make 1/4oz gold buffalos again though i'd like to see them in the gold eagle composition Comment from : @nathanr494 |

Easy question - the gold maple 😎 Comment from : @HomestarCrawler |
When I started buying gold over a decade ago, both Eagles and Buffalos were going for $80 to $100 over spot while anybody with a slightly creative mind could buy Maples for $40 to $50 under spot (yes under) I could never justify the premium for either US coin but still bought some along the way when they (rarely) went on sale and the premium was more in line with other coins Comment from : @BA-lt2tx |
People are still not getting that the Eagle actually b*weighs more*/b than the Buffalo because of the added copper-silver alloy That is why it can contain an ounce of pure 24k gold even the though the coin is 22k Also, the purpose of the added alloy is to greatly increase the b*durability*/b of the coin—that’s the primary reason it is there, not to change the color or to act as a counterfeit deterrent Comment from : @byteme0000 |
Another good point of conversation here is the pros/cons to finishes available, proof /reverse proof/ uncirculated/ burnished etc Comment from : @tomsch5801 |
THANKS SPEGS GREAT JOB Comment from : @jamesreal7987 |
