What does copper do in the rain? It turns green from corrosion Same for the Alloy American Eagle It's made with copper and gold The copper will eventually turn your special coin into green corrosion

Eagles are my go to simply because I don’t have the budget for one ounce Buffalo coins If I did have that kind of budget I would rather buy pre ‘33 Double Eagles History and beauty in the same package!

I've got more gold Buffalo's than eagles but I do like the long drawn out ring you get when you ping a 22k gold eagle Personally I like the feel and look of the gold Maple in hand better than the Buffalo's and eagles I think everyone has a coin that captures the eye and touch above the rest and that's the Maple for me I still mostly by us mint though

I think the mintage numbers and future collectability value of the coins would bring another variable into the decision making Also, I believe you can get fractional eagles and not fractional buffalos Fractional eagles also have different mintage numbers and could factor into future collectability value

I think the Buffalo is more popular because of its historic and rugged good looks But I would guess that each would command the same if I was selling one to my LCS here in the United States If the Buffalo came in fractional, I’d stack both coins equally For me, it’s 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz Eagles right nowbrbr(Do you think the jury is still out with “2 is 1” since he hasn’t commented yet? 😂)
