well exploiting muggles for their wealth would seem a pretty apt justification for gaining wealth from them for the Malfoy family Tbh their family's beliefs have always reflected what they feel benifits them the most rather than a genuine place no matter how much the main blood line would like to kid themseleves althrough later down the line it would be more rooted as fact than a facad to gain more from who ever is in power at the the time, aka sidding with the winning team as the saying goes

I can tell you in one sentence how the Malfoys got so rich- Bribery of wealthy Muggles and shaggy deals with them Possibly even under the Impirus Curse Think about it- Back in the days it wasn't illegal to use what is now the unforgivable curses So there is a good chance that the curse was used extensively in order to make money for themselves

If I were a Malfoy, I would scoff at the notion that it was either hypocrisy or ironic that our wealth comes from the exploitation of muggles After all, we are not allowed to subject them to our magical might, therefore fraternization is excused, and even encouraged if we find more subtle methods to benefit from manipulating muggles lol

I already knew this stuff but still an enjoyable videobrBut I still feel Harry's wealth is underestimatedbrAdditionally over the years I've read & re-read the Harry Potter books dozens of times and when I read it I created a personal Fan-Fiction that I reevaluate every time I re-read it Sometimes changing some details, but most of the time stays consistent & in it I added ways to make more wealth that ignores the Statute of Secrecy while also tries to get rid of it

I wonder if Lucius or Draco would have even known The Statute was implemented long before even Lucius's father Abraxas was even born and knowing the Malfoy family they'd have even taken steps to erasing it from their history and family lore So, it's possible that they didn't even know and in fact grew up thinking that their wealth came from other sources
