For all those wondering, this saw isn't available in the UK yet It's apparently coming soon I'm expecting it will cost £300-£350 based on EU/ US prices, but that's just my best guessbrbrIf you've already got a table saw I suggest checking out this video I made next: youtube/0v5W17q44FA Comment from : @sumeraybuilds |
Storage question: what is the dimension with the folding legs folded? Thanks in advance Comment from : @algorel4763 |
Can you use a dado blade? Comment from : @Bills_Bicycle_Rides |
Can you use a dado stack with this one? Comment from : @Bjornarp |
Thank you for the reply sirbrAll th best brSean Comment from : @phoenixfire4730 |
Good video brI am considering buying this one over the Dewalt Except for the trolley, is there any major improvements in the dewalt? Like performance, power, material quality? If the motor, quality and power is the same on the Skil, I'd purchase that one Comment from : @Bamse99 |
I'm hoping I don't have to have multiple hose sizes in my DIY shop area Can a 1-1/4" hose handle the dust from this saw? I know my shop vac hose fits but it is so cumbersome and the other tools I have can take a small hose Comment from : @PaulAshley |
I've had this saw for a couple months, and never knew about the blade guard and miter storage Comment from : @LeeroyJNCOs |
Can the riving knife be removed? Comment from : @rbguitars |
Does anyone have a link for a UK based seller for this saw please?brThank you 👍 Comment from : @phoenixfire4730 |
I'm glad to read one comment that you can actually install this in a moving cabinet Would enjoy any tips regarding any special install options to accomplish this Comment from : @jimquinn9635 |
Surprisingly was available in Switzerland, have to see if it is the new revision version or the first version Comment from : @MuRaT_C |
Why is this exact model bot availble in europe Comment from : @GajderStudio |
Is there also a way to attach the fence on the under/sides of the saw for moving and storage? I haven't found it in the manual and don't see any obvious way Comment from : @dusrdev |
The motor goes strong but I ran it too hard and it died on me Comment from : @MCEdziits |
I purchased this saw a year ago and was very happy but about 10 months in the motor is failing and the bolts for the tilt/lift mechanism and toolless blade adjustment unthread during use causing the blade to come out of square while operatingbrbrThis is all covered under warranty but the first place Skil had me bring the saw to had it for 2 weeks before letting me know that they no longer work with Skil and to pick up my saw The second shop said it was absolutely sure that it would be a full replacement With that feedback, Skill will process a replacement but at this point I've been without a saw for over a monthbrbrBetween the early failures and difficulties in executing the warranty I can't recommend the saw which was otherwise a pleasure to use I would have loved to upgrade to their 10" worm drive model in hopes that it's more robustly built but understandably there's no upgrade option in their warranty/replacement plan brbrBuyers beware Comment from : @Crayonomicon |
available in netherlands for 300- euro this beats even high priced einhell and competes with dewalt, bosch costing nearly twice as much the table looks pretty well made i want one but not available in germany and austria Comment from : @emcee1337 |
Can it be operated with the legs folded? Comment from : @txmade4371 |
Love mine! Comment from : @matthewwindisch9449 |
Does this saw have a blade brake or soft start motor Disappointed in only having a 5/8 dado capacity Comment from : @purtis99 |
Looks very a lot like the evolution 🤔 Comment from : @t-rex4211 |
I own this table saw and absolutely love it! Great video Comment from : @allkindsofstuff1651 |
Still doesnt seem to be available in the UK unfortunately Comment from : @plasticcreations7836 |
This saw is the only item on my Christmas list I’ve made my wife aware🤞 Comment from : @Peter-dude23 |
Got these a few weeks ago and love it, my 1st saw so I am no pro but noticed the US version gets anti kickback teeth but Skil say here in Europe it don't Comment from : @Optikification |
I have had this table saw for over three years and I'm very happy with it The fence is solid and dialing it in was extremely easy I may upgrade to a grizzly cab saw but for the time being, the Skil table saw has been a great table for what I paid for it Comment from : @hochhaul |
Good job on your review; just the right amount time for show and tell I'm in the market for a worksite tablesaw And because of your review I'm going to check out the Skil Thx D Comment from : @mrleverage2006 |
Needs a DIY Router attachment like the one you made for the Dewalt ;) Comment from : @osuperduke1 |
Is it true that Mikita tablessaw is not that good What do you think about it? Comment from : @andrewhunt4532 |
I have that same saw, it's legit A great saw for the price(got mine for $269) It claims a 3 1/2" cutting depth, mine will cut a full 3 5/8" brbrI had to adjust the blade a tiny bit to make it 90 degrees and the riving knife I tweaked just a little The blade was square to the fence out of the box brbrIt'll resaw 7 1/4" pressure treated like it's butter I built a higher fence jig for resawing, and with the rack and pinion adjustment it was really easy to do brbrIt's light and portable with the folding legs; you can easily slide it into the back of an SUV and store it in a very small space Comment from : @ScottFarkus |
I like the fold out legs Comment from : @darrenlesueur4785 |
I bought one a few weeks ago and so far it's terrific I have a very small shop and the portability is a big plus I also have an older contractor saw that is much larger I like this one so much I'm thinking of building a rolling worktable around it and selling the larger saw Comment from : @hillustration |
If it’s not available in the uk how do you have it ? Can I just buy from Europe and change the plug ? Comment from : @renedargenio1745 |
I found one last year in Walmart in the clearance isle Looked like someone cut one board and returned it Couldn't resist for 156 dollors lol Comment from : @TheFirebutt |
This saw really has got my interest Is anyone out there prepared to say just how much they paid for it in the UK ? B 😎👍 Comment from : @MrBernie101 |
@sumeraybuilds Have you continued using the Skil to get a senes of strengths and weaknesses IRL?brbrI have the TS6307 (NA version) Being fair, I wouldn't have a table saw but for the price and it's served me well in cutting pine and ply for shop stuff for the last year butI found the table's not exactly flat and there's flex in the throat plate - trade offs for the price point brbrAs I'm planning to try some more 'fine' furniture, I found some wobble in the blade (thin kerf) I've not given up on my Skil and there are a couple of things to try to improve accuracy, but I'm keeping an eye out for cabinet saws as I may have already outgrown this entry level machine Comment from : @Joel_misMakes |
Did you review the Evolution 255? The 255 isn't available in the USA yet but the Skil isI am wondering if I should wait for it to come to the USA or go after the Skil Any suggestions or input would be appreciated Comment from : @AmsterDanTheAmerican |
I have this saw and have found that it carries best on the side handle with the table close to your body, not the legs Weight balance is better, avoids the issue you experienced and protects the top from knocks too Comment from : @BG2439 |
Very Good Video and Information I have One also and am very Impressed with what it can do Comment from : @dickgalahad4508 |
Is this available in the uk ?????? !! Comment from : @Litehamer |
I see a lot of similarities to the evolution table saw that you review Comment from : @msk3905 |
Good review! I can't decide between this, the SPT99T-01 or even the SPT99-11 I have their SPT77WML-01 and love how quiet and powerful the worm drive is With space constraints, the SPT99T-01 is looking like the favourite at the moment First world problems Comment from : @BobbyMadeWell |
Any update on when it’ll hit the Uk? Comment from : @davemaynard3826 |
It’a an actual copy of the dewalt saw! Comment from : @francoisg3009 |
I couldn’t agree more That’s why after watching plenty of review ideas on job site table saws, I went ahead and made the purchase on this Skil Comment from : @job916 |
someone told me taht this saw is hard to put into a built table with an outfeed table i think he said something about the legs not coming off well or something like that is there any reason you shouldnt just build a table that has enough room to put the entire thing with the legs folded up onto the table? Comment from : @rtaskyy |
i wish they had a metal throat plate the plastic throat plate flexes easily Comment from : @jesspher25 |
I have this saw It's loud but I love it It's light so it's easy to move around I'm impressed with the folding legs Comment from : @rsra048 |
I think USA banned table saw until 2043 Comment from : @newtop420schannel8 |
I purchased this one about 6 months ago I love this table saw and the adjustments are great for being a jobsite saw I have a small wood shop so the fact it folds up and moves out of the way is a large plus Comment from : @shdwhealr |
Thanks for the video, i have had it for well over a year, had no idea about the slots and calibration lol Just took it out of the box and started using it, it's a very well made machine I have made hundreds of cuts with it blade is still pretty good Comment from : @henrimassa6560 |
Theres a massive height difference between the throat plate and the cutting surfacebrYou can clearly see when the square is placed against the blade 😕brbrAnyways, im in the market for a new table saw and recently had a visit to my local stores Im really shocked how bad the quality is throughout all the brands They're producing cheaply made products with a high price tag 👎brDeWalt being the worst offender The tools feel like Black and Dekker quality at Festool prices Its insane Comment from : @VeganBytes |
Is there a release date and/or price for this in the uk yet? Comment from : @w00x360 |
Can you dado with this Skil? Comment from : @themodrocker1 |
Great video I subbed brbrQuestion is there a particular model number for this saw?brbrI need to purchase one and would love to check this one out! Comment from : @BigOHavingFun |
Hi I just bought this one and when I stop the engine it takes out fire from the motor Is it normal? Comment from : @nikosagianidis4266 |
So - for me it's a tough call between the Evolution R255, Rutlands R1618, or wait till this becomes available (if and whenever that might be!) It's great you got a demo version - was yours UK 240v? Comment from : @Ffish69 |
I’ve this saw I like the features and it’s a pretty solid build for a job site saw I wish the riving knife on my saw could be easily removed for a crosscut sled The updated model has an updated riving knife for easy removal - my model is 15yrs old Comment from : @GCheung55 |
Netter be GOOD,The cost is there!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂 Comment from : @hwfranjr |
this looks incredibly similar to the triton 10" table saw that is being launched right down to the blade adjustment I wonder if that is the version the UK is getting? Comment from : @reithryll |
I’ve had this saw for a year now and love it Comment from : @edm6657 |
It’s also evolution and Rutland same saw different names Comment from : @u2kjib4cjkqn |
I have seen at least 3 other "manufactures" release this saw with their own brand name on it, Evolution being just one of them suspect it is made in china and just rebranded, not sure what the spares availability will be like Comment from : @vincewakefield2609 |
It is an amazing sawlouder than a Catholic girl in the backseat but solid Comment from : @merikatools568 |
What is the model number please Comment from : @michaelspraggon2883 |
This is not sold in the UK Why? Comment from : @優さん-n7m |
Tip: 6:21 you can actually use the included blade wrench with the 2 holes in it, to adjust the distance between the 2 "nuts/screws" (short/long fence distance)so they are identical on both sides of the fence Comment from : @khudayer |
I bought this saw a week ago, i have been cutting maple, oak and walnut on it Cuts like butter! Very happy with it!👍🏽 Comment from : @jmoe6402 |
Bought this months ago for just €279 (in the Netherlands) I finally unboxed it and set it up yesterday as I've been too terrified to use a table saw I'm finally feeling like I'll need to use it, so there's no more avoiding it 😅brbrIt's also good to know that you can push a pin through the little lid on the on/off button, so it can't be turned on at all (which could bring ease of mind with kids around) I believe you can also calibrate the removable red cap at the blade to get it even with the table Yours showed a gap I believe Comment from : @Lennart1995 |
Really like this saw based on price and US reviewsbrThis is the first UK review I've seen and it's great to know that this table saw is allegedly coming to the UK I say allegedly because Skill have yet you reply to my email as there is no UK contact number for them (hate companies that won't actually speak to customers) They only outlet they list for their tools is screwfix And surprisingly enough they don't stock it Having chatted with them it appears they have no plans to stock this table saw They have however said that they are forwarding enquiries to the relevant department who will decide if it's worth stocking So back to square one again 🤦♂️ Comment from : @Sly_Wolf_1 |
struggling to find in the UK shops Comment from : @n0spam911 |
Does anyone know when/if this saw will be available in the UK? I'm looking to purchase it this year, if it doesn't come out what would be an alternative? Great bid by the way, thanks 👍🏻 Comment from : @andyspriggs666 |
I already have this saw, but I like seeing every review I've seen of it say good things about it I agree with these reviews too I'm also glad I got the updated saw that has the metal throat plate and removable riving knife Miter guage still sucks, and the push stick placement is not the best, but these are minor issues that are easy to remedy Comment from : @josuecaleb5053 |
I have been using the Dewalt since 2017, this looks like a cheap copy of it Cant really improve on the Dewalt Comment from : @staticmin3 |
I bought this saw in New Zealand several months ago It's excellent and has plenty of power when using a dado stack There is a couple of differences between the US and EU/AU/NZ models US model has an included anti kickback pawl but doesn't have the straight dust extraction step down nozzle I bought the Skil anti kickback pawl and its storage bracket from US eBay cheap as chips The anti kickback pawl storage bracket screws in just behind the storage clamp for the dust extraction nozzles You will see two screw bosses for it located there Comment from : @Murrray_Duncan |
Hasn't this been out for years or is this an updated model? Comment from : @willmcwithey6796 |
Is there a model number Please Comment from : @Phil_Guy |
The rack & pinion looked a little sloppy at the rear, is there any way of locking the fence once in position? Comment from : @azza1793 |
