Without pulling out the manual, that I did save, I remember hearing something about a 6" diameter dado blade limit? Comment from : @NickPleskach |
I don't get why the little flippable fence is on the opposite side of the blade on the fence ??? Comment from : @blueguy12345 |
The accuracy of those side panels is not going to affect building an armoire or furniture at all I built plenty of furniture with a job site saw and it came out just fine One piece I built is over five feet tall and 3 feet wide it all came out square and nice With Job site saw This saw in the video would do even better! I don't think those extension plates will affect project at all Comment from : @researchandbuild1751 |
I have this saw and I love it Comment from : @WilliamThompson-o8w |
great review man, but pls dont hit like that your saw blades, you can chip the carbide on them and ruin it (or at least need to replace the teeth) Comment from : @VaracolacidVesci |
Thanks so much for a no-BS review I can tell this was from the heart with no corporate sponsor influence Liked and subscribed Comment from : @coreyghayes |
Considering the time invested in making the video, and the details, I really appreciate this info One of the best table saw reviews Ive seen You covered exactly what I wanted to see before I go plunk down some money I'm replacing an old Craftsman, which burned out after 25 years I'm not quite skilled enough to merit spending $2000 on a saw yet, so I like what I saw Thanks a ton Happy retirement! Comment from : @markalexander6517 |
this is the ticket it looks likeI went to buy a Dewalt Jobsite saw today but the Metabo saw looked nice tho ive not saw a review on it so decided to put it off and do some research on it Comment from : @patrickbledsoe2176 |
In my dads shop he had pretty delta everything This was the delta of 60 years ago The table saw was 220 and a beast Most of the tools were used daily and the table saw cut god knows how much teak mahogany for some old chris craft boats and cut enough cedar tongue and grove paneling to panel all walls in a 4000sqft house None of the delta tool ever had issues Also had delta table saws in a cabinet shop I worked at in college and those cut hard wood all day long including hard maple and some exotics that were harder than maple I’m not sure if delta is still in the ballpark of the delta of 60-70 years ago but I think this saw might be the upgrade I’m looking for to replace the job site death trap I have now Comment from : @leadpilled5567 |
First, I loved the review I really enjoy all of your reviews actually I have really been thinking about this saw for my first table saw Quick questions though I am barely 5ft 1in tall and this saw looks like it has fixed legs Is there any way to possibly alter the height? I am VERY new to woodworking and haven’t used a table saw yet and I’d really like to be stable and comfortable for safety reasons Thanks Comment from : @buckeyebassinwithericp626 |
Looking at the rigid version of this saw vs the skill job site saw You’ve reviewed both What do you think? Great deals on both! Comment from : @bobs7975 |
I just purchased the Rigid version of this saw I noticed right away that after you lock in the fence, there is some play at the back of the fence Do you experience that same issue? Comment from : @slyguyslippityslap |
Great review I just went from a delta cabinet saw to this with the hekp of your review The downsize was due to me moving and still needing a reliable accurate saw I wanted to buy the dewalt for its price tag, and the mobility options But just didnt feel as it would provide the accuracy i needed to build furniture with ease Comment from : @moof8851 |
Did you notice any issues with the Motor? start /stop? bearings? things of that nature? Comment from : @TheHomeCinemaEngineer |
Hi Mike, brbrDid you have to replace the tape measure on the saw ❓or is it accurate❓ Comment from : @myk1200s |
YesI bought my Ridgid version last year and a half ago and I love mine I agreepeople can buy $600 - $700 (and give most "intro-professional" performance) and sacrifice a few little things OR spend $1500 - $1800 (which they might be happier) But they have to weigh their Pros and Cons I'm a seasonal person and I'm just happy that Ridgid/Delta can sell cheaper materials and give us a real Cast Iron Top table saw for under $700 If lose my Ridgid, I will buy again There's no questions Comment from : @heut4384 |
Don't really know the model number anymore, wore off twenty years ago but, I've had a Delta saw for over 35 years and wouldn't trade it for anything 10", rock solid and cuts very very straight I'll most likely pass it down to my boys when I'm gone Comment from : @peetywondr3256 |
It's funny that I went to Lowes to buy one of those magnets and happened to see this table saw, and that let me to this review Comment from : @paulmichaud3230 |
I have this saw and this is my 3rd one as the motor failed on the first two saws Delta did warranty them and send me a new one I have had my current one for about 15 years now and it is working well Comment from : @chrisolvera6386 |
I've watched several of your reviews and really appreciate the effort you put into them I did purchase the Delta Table Saw I understand the wobble issue with the throat plate and di go to the link that you provided There were several options but none had a good description and some had multiple options without a good description I take it the idea of this aftermarket plate is to help with the wobble and to keep the dust from jamming up Am I correct? Since this video is now older do you still endorse this cover or has something maybe better come along? Again thank you! Comment from : @Zipidy2Da |
Thank you so much I’m looking for a good table saw I’m will to paid $800 1000 You really help I’m looking a that delta Comment from : @loveallofthisgreen356 |
What is the threaded hole on the bevel gauge for??? Comment from : @jacksonguy210 |
So, had this gone from $650 to $1650??? That's what I am seeing Comment from : @toddpeterson1673 |
I’m guessing on the non-latching side of the fence it’s probably HDPE plastic the same as they use in those cutting boards for commercial use I’ve actually bought those cutting boards cheap at Sam’s Club and used them in projects as runners Comment from : @liquidrockaquatics3900 |
Looking to build a all in one work station/ bench, is it possible to remove the legs to get it to a more of a jobsite saw look if you follow? Comment from : @toddpeterson1673 |
Nice saw Too bad they don't have an up grade option for the wings Thanks Comment from : @johniac7078 |
Save your money up until you can afford a low end cabinet saw This are not worth the money at all Delta used to make good stuff not any more Comment from : @johnbrown6189 |
2 years later fantastic freaking video! Wasn’t looking for a delta And ran across this video You sold me 😂 Comment from : @rocketman4822 |
FYI- the Bosch 1181 router table fits perfectly in the 36-725 Delta Comment from : @tjo911 |
This guy is not wrong The saw has amazing features however my motor lasted about 4 hours of run time Saw is several years old with hardly any real use Basically the saw cost me $200 per hour I have machinery that is 50 years old but all rebuildable Delta doesn’t want to give me a new motor Once they sell you a saw that is proprietary in every way you have to buy parts only from them brIt’s junk and headed for the scrap bin I have a head start of separation of aluminum and the steel Comment from : @davebishop2566 |
I have had this saw for years For price point it is hard to beat Comment from : @larrypittman3857 |
Nice Honest review Thank you for the effort I'm retiring soon and have been using a 30 year old Makita job saw for years This might be my next purchase because of this video Thanks again Comment from : @timlimon |
15:46 round 2 Comment from : @2sumu |
I have the same one After owning for a year I finally managed to use it The motor breaker pops from just running It’s basically a paper weight Comment from : @davebishop2566 |
is review are da best but your killing me I will have to watch more of your videos to find a saw without major fence or flatness dust extraction issues Comment from : @elkskiutah8204 |
$680? Something has changed Over $1200 now Comment from : @zozoart |
I've been really looking at this saw and doing research Reading a lot about motor dying prematurely so I was wondering if anyone had experience with this Comment from : @scottkelley9418 |
The R4560 is actually 15amp also, not 13amp And that stands to reason since it’s not a competitor It’s literally the exact same saw 😉 Comment from : @RyanWattersRyanWatters |
I have this saw and I absolutely LOVE it I upgraded from a jobsite saw and the difference is unbelievable The extra size is very handy I adjusted it once when I bought it 1 year ago and have not touched it since My extension wings are apparently flatter than the reviewer's wings The cast iron table seems to be relatively flat Not perfect perhaps, but light years ahead of my old saw I am sure if you spent $4000 on a SawStop you would probably get a SLIGHTLY more accurate saw, but really guys, are we machining steel, or wood? And wood is a natural material that moves anyway Bottom line, this is an awesome saw for the price, an incredible deal that I would highly recommend I am not a professional but am a serious hobbyist that is constantly working on one project or the next and this saw has had heavy use and never let me down I also installed my router table between the arms on the right and what a game changer in my small shop! Excellent review, I love your videos Comment from : @kenb6102 |
Great review Wish I had the space for that table Anyone know what the equivalent of this saw that's portable? Comment from : @AnthonyAntTony |
Very nicely done I felt just like my friend was talking to me and telling me your story Comment from : @JB-ym2yy |
How does this compare to the dewalt and skilsaw portable saws? Comment from : @bryonmartin8463 |
I have this saw Less than a year now I mostly like it The dust port is bogus as it makes two right angle turns for whatever reason I do not know there is nothing in the way of it coming out of the saw housing directly Clogs constantly The low fence drops down on the right of the fence I'd like to change it to the left side Anyone knows about this I'd appreciate some tips Also, the locking lever on the fence was loose, so I had to add some mylar washers and tighten the pivot nut just so Good saw Good review Thanks Comment from : @JimboJeem |
The auxiliary flip down fence thing is for when the fence is out on the rails beyond the table wingsIt's there to hold sheet goods stock Not sure why it's on the right side of the fence though My jobsite DeWalt has it on the side facing the blade Comment from : @klmbuilders5385 |
Someone may have already answered this for you The plastic parts at the back of the throat plate are for the kickback paws to rest on I guess it helps to keep them grippy Comment from : @scytaleghola5969 |
i bought the dewalt tablesaw because i liked the fence im now wishing i wouldve bought that deltasmh Comment from : @SIRRONW |
This saw, even in 2023, remains the only viable purchase under a grand (and way more) for a combination of cast iron top, full power motor, good fence, full length arbor, local availability (or as you note, no-freight delivery), and lack of gimmicks It’s a solid machine Comment from : @ChrisHornberger |
I just got this saw, having trouble getting the legs to seat I am going to cut some relief cuts on the inside parts That should let them go into position My 70 year old Craftsman has cast grid extensions I am going to see if they will fit Comment from : @johnshumake3696 |
My fingers are worth spending thousands on a Sawstop Comment from : @CogentConsult |
What size amp are you running your saw on? 15 amp or 20 ? Comment from : @Ds-iv2tz |
when the blade is all the way up and you are cutting a thick piece of lumber at start the blade have a tendency to vibrate at the rear so that is to keep it from vibrating until the blade is into the lumber totally Comment from : @rumsiker |
Good review!!!! Thanks! Comment from : @danedewaard8215 |
Wish I could find it for the price you paid… bidenomics really screwing stuff up Comment from : @DemonOfFury |
I went from a $100 saw to this saw, absolutely love this saw Comment from : @EStewart0819 |
I had the same model for 3 years and sold it when I moved I’m looking at picking up another soon as it’s a great saw and great value Comment from : @mikesnyder465 |
Mike I’m guessing it is worth $350 on sale? Comment from : @tomsardo6984 |
Thanks for the saw review! Very helpful I'm thinking of getting this saw Quick question- if the fence gives out could you replace it with a biesemeyer? Comment from : @BarkingBeavers |
I hope you can help me I have the exact table saw and was completely happy with it until I removed the riving knife Now that I have I cannot install it back into its position I cannot lift the lever It's as if the riving knife is installed already, hope you can understand what I am saying picture this, just say I have my riving knife in OK, Now I lift the lever to remove it OK, Picture that, But the riving knife is not and I cannot lift the lever I hope you can help me Thanks Comment from : @mikeparadise1114 |
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up blade, fence, etc But once done, the saw is great Fairly compact which is Nice wwwyoutubecom/post/UgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape this tightens up the side to side play a lot Comment from : @АндрійРоманович-й6т |
Thanks very much I've been using this saw for 3 years It does every thing I need whether I'm building cabinets or building a deck This is a great saw Thanks again Comment from : @grizthedog |
Good review, I love this saw, only complaint is at 4 months the motor quit, a capasitor, a real pain, I had to load it on a trailer and take to a service Ctr, I’m still waiting for it to be fixed I’ve read that they had a lot of issues with this Comment from : @bobramos1604 |
Very honest video for 600 dollars better than nothing but to have one for the start Comment from : @davidndahura7437 |
Really like your table saw reviews Love the detail Comment from : @paulhenry8174 |
I’ve had mine for years I love it Comment from : @p90x1011 |
Thank you for this incredible review Comment from : @johncseward |
I've had mine for two years and never use that on-board blade storage so I completely forgot it comes with a blade wrench I grab a wrench out of the toolbox every time Thanks for the reminder Comment from : @MrPither999 |
Throw the miter gauge in the trash and buy an Incra miter gauge Comment from : @MAGAMAN |
The black parts on the back of the throat plate are so the antikickback pawls don't tear up the plastic It's a cheap fix that causes as many problems as it fixes Comment from : @MAGAMAN |
All you need to do for the throat plate, that was happening to me at first, but I simply raised and equalize the height of the adjuster screws, mine rests level, and doesn't have any play Comment from : @lambornpeter3922 |
I don't have the rigid you're talking about, but I do have the ridgid job site saw, and it sucks It's a toy, and I don't see why it's even sold Rigid' tools have beena disappointment to me I just got the delta, came yesterday I can't wait to try it out Comment from : @lambornpeter3922 |
Really enjoy your reviews, especially being a novice/ beginner Still not sold on which table saw would be best for a beginner but I do like thisbrOne Comment from : @mcrocker01 |
You were not kidding how quiet this saw is! I found mine gently used and the owner added some upgrades So thank you for the detailed review Comment from : @JohnZabrucki |
good video Thanks! Comment from : @stevek3627 |
The best part of the review is how you said the fence stays in place well I was worried and went back and forth between a Dewalt rack and pinion fence vs the traditional sliding fence In the end, I went with Delta $50 more than the popular Dewalt Jobsite saw I have no plans on taking my saw to a job site I am glad this review helped me make the right choice Comment from : @juandenzer637 |
Thank you for such a great review! For a few months I've been between two minds on this saw and the Dewalt 7491RS, but I'm now ordering this saw from Lowes Thanks again! Comment from : @Ramdrums |
Can anyone tell me the total width of the saw, from left to right? Comment from : @skevincampbell |
Thanks for the comprehensive review! I bought a Rigid from HD in July 2020 It comes with a Lifetime Service Agreement, why? Because it will be needed and when it is needed the service centers are so booked out it will likely take months for a repair The blade raising and lowering mechanism gets stuck and when fully raised the belt drive mechanism disengages leaving no blade drive It's been frustrating to own for this reason alone The Rigid website and HD are useless for service or help Comment from : @jamescandelaria4840 |
I have a similar model, and love it Quiet, accurate, heavy😊 Comment from : @DougsCNC |
I have the rigid r4560, and I am quite sure they are the same saw Rigid just put it's name on itI could be wrong Comment from : @williammckinney3362 |
great video, i just bought one used, might not be the exact saw, mine is possibly an older generation 36-7 25brI was just curious if you thought it would be possible to replace the aluminum extension tables with something like Baltic birch or mdf and would that lend to making more accurate projects thanks! Rob Comment from : @robertdennis1439 |
I do not have 3000 hundred either, so I subscribed and will go check these out! lol Comment from : @kalebhensleyofficial |
Thanks for your honest review I now own this table saw and I love it have not done any projects with it yet but I am sure it will do every thing I ask it to do Comment from : @jimmiemahathey7209 |
Great video! Thanks thx Comment from : @brocklee7704 |
Does this work on the stander outlet? Comment from : @kaylastock-fg3iw |
