Hello,I collect all world coins,I purchased unclean Roman coins about 10 years ago they were chocker with 2000 year’s of soil hard as rock,I managed to get enough off to recognise some of them ,some are still to dirty to research,so I will gift them to a family member, can’t really sell them with no real history about them Comment from : @vseddonvs |
As always, thank you Daniel Comment from : @bobegan2121 |
Always teaching One thing i like about your videos is learning things about coins Don't clean old coins is a long time rule to follow Comment from : @Tomscoins2021 |
That opening part I could just see the coin getting uglier and uglier it was HARD to watch! Thanks for the education Comment from : @penniesshillings |

Unless your US coins are rare and of established Numismatic value, your Coin Dealer is only interested in their intrinsic value whether polished or not polished Look at it this way, if you have a common one ounce silver bar, polished or not, all you will likely get paid for is the silver if your lucky brAnd forget about Numismatic values on Foreign coins without any precious metal content unless they have a verified pedigree and are certifiably rare the most you will wind up with is a goose egg without any toast lolbrThe coin collecting industry now resides within the shadow of the Bullion and Mega-Bucks Investors Convince me I am wrong! Comment from : @domingodelatorre1309 |
I received a war nickel in charge once It was polished nice and shiny At least it has the silver value Comment from : @sidcolwell7479 |
Polishing coins with minimal numismatic value can be kinda fun Ike dollars are good candidates Just do the fields with a toothpick and buffing compound You spend enough time on it and you'll have yourself a DCAM haha just dont try to pawn it off as one probably not worth the time anyways Comment from : @TheWinstonDouble |
I have only cleaned a coin by hand cleaning using dish soap and water, and patted dry with a paper towel I would never do anything more Opinion? Comment from : @kenkaufman9998 |
as an 8 or 9 year old kid walking with a friend he kicked up a large cent on one of our small-town back roads I'd just been talking about coinsan ironic momentwe walked back to his house and I told him not to clean it, not scrub ithe insisted and scrubbed a beautiful dirt find large cent down to clean brassy metal Once he was done I think he realized what a mistake he'd made Comment from : @sftommy01 |

The coin community owes you a great deal of gratitude for your expertise in these types of videos, especially me since I am fairly new to coin collecting latter in my years Thank you and God bless! Comment from : @jarm0835 |

Hello sir, I have a question some of my coin have tiny spots of corrosion how can I address that? They are nice uncirculated but not of great value I appreciate your channel brThank yiu Comment from : @zuma3334 |
I wished you would've brought out the Dremel, that'd been hilarious!brGreat video!👍🇺🇸 Comment from : @phononut |

Good Video! When a coin is graded, for example, “Cleaned AU Details,” the coin still has Value, due to the fact it has only been Cleaned brA coin that is graded with the wordings, “Improperly Cleaned,” “Harshly Cleaned,” “Whizzed,” “Brushed,” wording like that, makes the coin most of the time worth less than the fee for the Grading brA Coin damaged, such as “Bent VF Details” or “Counting Damage AU Details” etc has more value to me Comment from : @TruthLivesNow |
When will cleaning come back in style? At one time it wasn't frowned upon I have a vault full of cleaned silver coins Comment from : @bassmaster1953 |
Good job Daniel as usual Comment from : @charlesvanthony43 |
I’d say the only ones that I would try and touch up are the coins that are already AU-MS range with a little fog/dirt/dust on them! Obviously using the MS Cleaner! Comment from : @everythingcollectibles |

Clean the gunk off GENTLY If it is a dug coin, clean it as gently as you can as it already had environmental damage Comment from : @wandlbaker |

Great information Daniel! Thank you!! Comment from : @robertscagnelli1011 |
I wish the grading companies would actually assign a score to a cleaned coin Right now valuing a clean coin is subjective rather than objective I don't mind cleaned coins but I don't want to take a financial risk if I'm not an expert grader which I'm not Comment from : @dmpi483 |
It’s a proof now, lol Comment from : @mrvrose9999 |
Thanks Daniel Comment from : @domingodeanda233 |
