Bars for long term Coins for short term You have a tax exemption on coins but only up to 🤔? £12,000 a year So if you want to cash in over that in retirement you're going to want to sell more than that in a year to keep the boat afloat

Thank goodness we don't have a VAT over here in the US In your situation, I'd buy bars for sure, depending on your capital gains tax rates Kilo bars or 10 ounce bars are best for liquidity In my personal stacking efforts, I have bought sovereign minted coins (American Eagles, Canadian Maples, and Philharmonics) and 5 ounce and 10 bars (mostly from the RCM) Our silver premiums over here are much lower, about 25 - 40 with American Eagles on the high side of that spread We do have capital gains concerns if we sell our precious metals for a profit but I'll worry about that if I ever need to sell any of my stack I don't plan on selling unless I needed money for an emergency Going forward, I'm concentrating on gold The premiums are lower and my main reason for stacking is wealth preservation considering inflation and the USD's declining status I will buy more silver if the spot price drops into the $15 - $17/ounce (11 - 13 £ ) range but I don't think that's likely any time soon Thanks for the video and all the information you provided about stacking in the UK Happy New Year to you and your family

Both are great for stacking The premium you pay for a bullion/coin/round can be passed on in selling and recouped Same with bars, even though minted bars have a lower premium Hand-poured bars usually carry the highest premium, I avoid those Back to bars, the size is something to consider, I've payed more per oz for a 10 oz over a 100 oz The heavier you buy, the lower you pay per ozIt could be a factor of 10 vs 3 premium
