After many months of doing clutchless upshift I learned that if you pull the shift lever slightly, it makes the upshift quicker as now that shift lever doesn't have to travel as far as it should and you only have to blip half a second making your clutches upshifts a lot smoother

I fock my XR for almost 6 years, and even on an old FZ06 since longer Best technique ever!brbrThat and if you want to do without fear (some, I know), best is to upgrade your clutch pack to slipper clutch or just get any bike with that feature More machined clearance actually makes it much easier to do clutchless shifting

I can definitely confirm that clutchless upshifting cant be too hard on the bike as my 2003 KLX125 has had the same clutch and transmission gears as it had since I got it I never clutchless downshift though

I always did clutchless shifting in the higher gears, but 1st to 2nd is a big jump, so I usually clutch with that shift and also 2nd to 3rd After that it is all clutchless However I do use the clutch to downshift all gears Now, after saying all this I just bought a Sabre 1300 with a shaft drive, so it does not have that chain slack So far I am using the clutch on this bike for all shifts Anybody have experience with shaft bikes?
