How much weight does it take for you to be able to shift gears? Or how much person does it take? Comment from : @franciscocabral7350 |
Depends on your bike if you ride on a 125 you will most likely have to give it throttle while slowly pulling out your clutch to not stall or be jerky Comment from : @notricu |
My question is when i practice especially going down a gear lets say from 4-2 do you have to hit the breaks as well? Because when i go to throttle after it starts to scream Im really having trouble there and my father (who got me into biking) doesn’t understand what im trying to say Comment from : @locoMS |
I learned way more here than I did at msf! Gems! Comment from : @kalikillz |
If i let the clutch out before i get back on the gas, wont i start engine braking? Shouldnt i be letting the clutch out and rolling on the throttle at the same time? Comment from : @SØRRYARTMUSIC |
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast Comment from : @T3HR3PP4 |

I’m so mad that the first videos about down shifting mention Rev matching, I thought that was the only way to downshift, ridiculous that’s so much Comment from : @freesoul2895 |
Yo, have you considered doing asmr? Your voice tone it's relaxing (not gay related) Comment from : @xXx_sasuke_uchiha_xXx |
You don’t have to pull the clutch all the way in Just find the friction zone I do agree it’s different for every bike but you don’t have to pull all the way in Comment from : @timcrews-hill2708 |
9:35 💯 slow down the bike 🏍 first Comment from : @Painttoexpressnotoimpress |

Do I need to start accelerating at the clutch point while releasing the clutch lever after shifting into higher gear, or should I be accelerating after fully releasing the clutch? Comment from : @Pendigoo |

Great Video Thanks for explaining blipping, as a new rider it was confusing the hell out of me, but as you say its not required if your speed is dropping by rolling off the throttle Also thanks for explaining downshifting multiple gears in one go on the fly, saves a lot of time Comment from : @alecleonce8414 |

I've started going to motorcycle course and I've just realized how shit my instructor is I told him I never rode a bike before, never sat on one, not the best bicycle rider, never rode a moped or anything he sat me on yamaha 07 and told me it's similar like a car, he shifted to first gear and told me to go I was like "are you sure?" but yeah I fell ofc and and he was surprised I fell??brBut yeah, I've learned so much more watching this video! Thank you! Comment from : @squonk_6834 |
im about to get my insurance mere days for Ninja 400 2023 and this video is the only video I found that slowly descriptively explained all the shifting Ty Very helpful Others were too quick Comment from : @BAHDK |
Great video for new riders! The only thing I do differently is that I do downshift because it’s safer to stay in gear for when traffic starts moving again or if someone behind you isn’t paying attention Do you have a more advanced video showing how to float gears/clutchless shift with a bike that has a normal clutch? I have one showing me floating gears but I don’t explain how to because it’s not for beginners Comment from : @DustySteelGarage |
I would just like to ask with regarding shifting up the gears On releasing the clutch slowly must it be released completely before putting on the gas ? Or can you release the gas just before releasing the clutch completely? Comment from : @craig9143 |
No matter what I’ve tried, my down shifting is pretty bad I have only gotten up to 3rd gear (29 mph) and that was by accident… smh I just want it smoother before I venture outside of my neighborhood … Comment from : @Visual-Special0930 |
It's a great explanation brother Comment from : @joaobarbosa6392 |
Ok finding the friction zone by walking the bike while letting go of the clutch is such a top their tip Like it makes total fucking sense but I just never thought about it They should totally make this part of the MSF course Just add it on the the beginning basics shit, it would take 2 secondbr10/10 Comment from : @Stop_It_Just_Stop |

If you’re in any gear but 1st and neutral, when you slow to a stop via red light or what not can you stay in that gear or is it a must to downshift to 1st Comment from : @SHD_Agent6514 |
