I got into riding dirt bikes this summer always kinda knew how to drive a manual bike but didn’t fully grasp it now thays it’s winter I can ride that bike with the best of em, but I had no idea street bikes could go that high in speed without having to change and I’m not just talking about his 😭 even just like a cbr 300 being able to do around the 40 mph range blows my mind

So I still have a question… when coming to a full stop from a high gear you HAVE to shift down to first gear and hold the clutch and apply both brakes? Or do you shift into neutral?

I'm on my first ever bike, and the manual happened to tell me when to shift It's an Indian Chief Bobber, and the instructions say:brbr1st - up to 15 mphbr2nd - up to 25 mphbr3rd - up to 35 mphbr4th - up to 45 mphbr5th - up to 50 mphbr6th - >50 mphbrbrAs a beginner rider, I was relieved to have the instructions tell me when to shift Check your manual, it may tell you best practices for shift points Every bike is different

So one thing I'm noticing is he's putting around and for those who are learning to try to comprehend when to shift he should not be in third gear putting around reasons why motorcycles are designed to run at high RPMs when they are at low RPMs you are putting more stress on the cylinders this is kind of an onion layer peeled back that most people don't understand

Maybe I'm that much of a noob, but how were you downshifting without your hand on the clutch when you had your hands on the tank? Or is that the point? It's forcing the engine to run lower and cause "engine braking"?
