It all comes down to who runs the business I was an assistant manager/broker at a franchised Cash Converters and the owner of the business was a cheap pos His profit margins goals were 75 profit or more I would literally get shit for buying an item at $20 and selling it for $40 the next dayeven though I made the store a quick 50 As of recentlybro had to sell his yacht and also had to split his businesses with another partner to pay his bills Karma is a bitch 😊

A lot of single owner pawn shops don't know about gtrs or music instruments One guy ripped off a shop in St Augustine Florida for pawning 7 Chinese fake Gibson Les Paul's I had another friend in same town and he made at least $300 a day selling gold to some other guy He was very kind to me Didn't even charge me interest for 2 years on a couple of instruments I had in there He knew I had been going through a really rough time So people there are good folks in this world

I came here to convince myself not to go take a loan out from a local pawn shop The interest rate is 20 & to even get it down to 15 I'll need Gold or atleast $1500 in collateral for a 30 day loan

I have literally walked into one of the major name brand corporate pawn shops and was offered $100 for a $600 firearm Went down the street to a mom and pop pawn shop and got $400 there are some good ones out there but like you say it’s best to stay away from any of the larger corporations and go to mom and pop shops

I dont know if you are aware that pawn laws vary state to state In my state we are only allowed to charge 3 monthly which I would not consider exorbinate To generalize all pawn shops with one statement is a misrepresentation of the facts
