Georgia Power took 9 days to get power back to us after Helene, and we weren't the last to be connected If the Canada tariffs go through, gas and oil products are about to skyrocket I think solar may be worth it for peace of mind in a disaster Plus, not having to toss food and replace it saves money Comment from : @fabrisseterbrugghe8567 |

You know, this thing is really neat It's got an appeal that grabs your attention right away From the moment you see it, you're drawn to it It's simple yet effective in its design Comment from : @powoxi |
What about the True-Up charges? When you pay the electricity provider for the shortfall when your panels don’t live up to the hype? Comment from : @robertjohannnewton7489 |

Nice system I'm just getting some proposals to compare with I just canceled Trinity and Sunnova they only want you to go PPA or loan The total cash price was higher than the competitors and it was verbal Also they push the Tesla's inverters which are not favorable among installers Jon@mysolarhome got me a better deal (20) rec panels 10,562 kw and Enphase IQ8M inverters 30 year warranty part, labor, roof penetration and maintenance $25956 before incentives The company is Powur from California I live in NJ Comment from : @HB-yq8gy |
you are foolish! I did my entire solar system - BY MYSELF! 10,000 WATT SYSTEM, all to code, and I spent under $10,000 , total! and my elect bill is- on average ZERO! Comment from : @leewestrope4624 |
Summer temps above 110 degrees and over 100 days above 100 degrees and monthly electric bill of $19 a month, dam well worth it Comment from : @Enolagay8545 |

Sunrun installed a defective roof on my house with undocumented workers As it turned out there was extensive damage all over the roof Two years later my roof is still damaged and leaking, and Sunrun refuses to repair it I'm out $7800 Find some other company than Sunrun for sure Do your homework and investigate online before deciding to pick a company Comment from : @seanm729 |
Your cost is 25*12*18077 not sure how you end up with 66k Comment from : @MrVizzle |
Solar is never worth it He doesnt tell you about the much higher HO ins, devaluing the house value, damage to the roof, degradation of the panels and batteries Mold and water leaks And having to sell the house with loans still attached Great value Shrinking govt incentives, fees charged by the electric company etc Comment from : @Sam-ys4pc |
Any company that wants 100 payment on day one is one you don't want to deal with Comment from : @mac11380 |

You have calculated it over a very long time Have you calculated the degrading of the sufficiency of the panels to meet they targets over that life span ? Comment from : @picturef8 |
In Canada there gov't has a no interest loan for up to $40,000 brit's a really solid deal with the right set up Comment from : @enrique-hi |
Most solar systems should pay for themselves in 5-10 years The fact that in 25 years the system itself wouldn’t pay for itself shows you vastly overpaid Comment from : @jamesw5591 |
Iv had mine for 2 years and regret getting solar I live in Arizona and I’m paying the solar panels plus my electric bill it didn’t help much at reducing my electric bill Comment from : @fierrospeed3420 |
$40k? you got scammed Comment from : @BTx789 |
The thing you didn't mention in your video is that financing through a solar provider adds additional deal fees to your total cost It's much cheaper to find your own loan either barrowing against retirement plans, an insurance policy, or a HELOC That way, you pay cash price for the equipment and install, saving yourself another $10k I'm currently in the process of securing the financing myself because the total cost when financing through a solar vendor is ridiculous and greatly diminishes the value of it Also, insuring that you get good panels, they can last 40 years and still continue making you money long after you pay off the loan By the way, it's "Would have paid" not "Would of paid" if you want to be taken seriously Comment from : @verbalpics |
bottom line nobody puts in solar (or windmills) without government subsidies So, those who go solar pass the cost on to tax payers and rate payers The price will never come down while government offers subsidies They should cut all subsidies and let the market settle this Comment from : @sjmac9737 |
Thank you for showing the actual cost Based on my estimation, you paid $9 per Watt for your solar system The average should be about $3 for a solar-only system Thank you for informing the company! Comment from : @zhiminxi5010 |
As the supply of SRECs on the market rises, the price drops So that SRECs is not stable Comment from : @coolhead8686 |
Wow, thats expensive For comparison Im putting 10kw solar system and an ev 11kw charger in EU for approx 10000 usd Qill probably be able to use government grant approx 50from that anount Its a no-brainer really ❤ Comment from : @14energy |
So basically the Sunova got to get $180 a month from you for 25 years AND they got the government subsidy for you spending the money in the first place?!?!?!? How is that ok? Comment from : @aaronphillips1210 |
Solar works well in most of Central to Northern Australia because our continent get Sun all year around 😮😮 Actually speaking in some Areas of the Nation it gets to 40 Degrees Celcius so you save more running a Aircon Comment from : @kapuagutchen8171 |
It is great if the grid goes down other than that it is not worth it By the way the batteries and solar panel create more trash than regular grid electricity Silly Democrats 😂😂😂 Comment from : @briankreger433 |
40k is crazy, I work for blue raven in Illinois and the average I see with my clients are 15-22k for a 8KW system Comment from : @DancinNate |

My average monthly electric bill is just over $50 so going solar is stupid Comment from : @rickallanolsen |

We made it so complicated for ourselves when we invented credit… Comment from : @chrisluc7535 |
Prices for solar in the USA are crazy high Obviously Solar companies take advantage of the fact that you get rebates/credits from the feds and state governments and increase their rates accordingly brbrWe had a 53Kw Solar system installed with a 5kw Inverter, all local permits, taxes and inspections with a cost of $US7,800 No incentives in New Zealand Payback was just over 5 years One of the better investments we ever made Comment from : @bertvandenberg8677 |
Don't believe it Comment from : @Gerardo-n7q |
I have yet to find someone who has done a review on solar panels in Florida as someone who used to live up north, I would think solar would be less appealing given the winter months Florida is literally sun 90 of the time Comment from : @JT3TRA_ |
The 12k$ refund is not your money its mine Although it may be a small amount, why should I pay any percentage of your decision to do something other than the socialist government decides so? Comment from : @apollomoon1 |
Ok,brSo solar isn't worth it Comment from : @dougg4633 |

Don't worry in 25 years you'll start getting your money back 😂😂 Another great idea slaughtered by greedy corporations Comment from : @mrsmith7751 |
Comments tldr: people who don’t understand Solar saying panels only last 10-20 yrs when in reality panels on average produce at over 80 efficiency for upwards of 30 years Comment from : @masterscaron |
WHY SO EXPENSIVE??? - My system only cost $14,000 after the tax credit Comment from : @ericinla65 |
Those door to door solar panel salesman are a SCAM! Look it up If you’re going to do solar go find a legitimate company yourself and not one that gets shuts down and re opens with a new name yearly Comment from : @xantoniaxxx |
If you live in California, you better not put that crap on your roof cause insurance company’s will drop you for your modification Comment from : @michaelvaughn6145 |
You made the worst deal of your life That $66,287 is equal to 38 years of powering your house The debt is yours even when you sell your house and move into another you must pay every payment provided you don’t pay a fortune to have the panels moved with you And if let’s say you move after 10 years your system will be obsolete maybe even damaged by the elements No matter what the salesman told you, you won’t be able to price your house a great deal higher over homes without solar, you might recoup 10-20 of what you spent at most Almost no one stays in a house for 25 years, given your age I doubt you’ll stay in it more than 10 years Comment from : @bobbypaluga4346 |
So long as the government keeps taking money from us to pay for it you make money by pretending to be green Got it! How many barrels of oil did it take to make the solar panels? Comment from : @buckystarfinger2487 |

2 yr old vid add 30 Comment from : @Tom-ic7hw |

This is like the pet rock and mood rings just a fad Comment from : @billyturner2396 |
I almost let myself get suckered in by Sunnova, I canceled within my seven day grace period After learning that when I die my beneficiary would automatically be responsible And if my beneficiary sold the house the solar would be a package deal Comment from : @Chittysanchez |
Solar power is a simple bet, pre pay 25 years or so of electric and hope it turns a profit in the long term Comment from : @dadandlokiinthewoods8806 |
So basically you’re sealing srec and the government allows you to steal money from the rest of the taxpayers Not to mention whether the system actually lasts 25 years brThis is another scam by the government to get people into these systems when climate change is the biggest scam ever devised brAnyone who believes in climate change should also believe in the flat earth Same fake science Comment from : @elmarko2641 |
Solar panels deteriorate over time And if you need a new roof looks like it you do You’re gonna have to pay for them to take it off to redo your roof And put them back on Among other things that will go wrong good luck with this one Comment from : @robertmalone3997 |
Investing in effeciency through improved insulation across all areas of housing is a much better bet The only variable is the cost the utility charges over time Comment from : @greggramig910 |
That tax credit doesn't work for everyone Comment from : @mikeo8890 |
No the numbers make 0 brI’m buying Tesla solar 18,000 to save 120-140 a month brCash is the only way to go brIt will take 7-8 years to pay the system off ! Other companies want 23,000-28,000 stay away from the shot companies just go Tesla Comment from : @campingforayearrenoheart5908 |
Florida does not participate in the SREC programthx Ron Comment from : @thomasalexander8499 |
Thank you for explaining how solar racketeering works for YOU Your neighbors, businesses and the government are paying for those subsidies you enjoy brbrI really have no objection if people want to be their own utility, but that involves NO GRID TIE You like the grif tie because you get services from your utility that you don't pay for Comment from : @SeattlePioneer |
When it comes time to have a new roof installed, will the roofing company take down the solar panels to put new shingles on and reinstalled the solar panels when they are done? Comment from : @markhardy6738 |
Just can't figure out why it took this company $40K to install NOT so many panels!? That sounds like too much money The Brit below mentioned 7K in pounds doing it himself That sounds more reasonable Comment from : @georgesmith9178 |
The New Big Green Deals a Scam Comment from : @scottperine9820 |

Financing solar at 59 for 25 years may be the worst financial decision I’ve ever heard of Jesus Christ I need to start a solar install company Anymore than 10 year financing is insane Comment from : @jagpilotohio |
Whenever somethng is popular, the prices go up I can't believe they are charging as much as they are I thought it was expensive when I bought them The same thing happened with the Obama stimuluses Somebody came up out and tried to sell me an AC for $21,00000 It's nothing but price gouging Plus there are different types of panels You have to make sure that you get American not Chinese panels Plus, the utility companies do not pay very much Comment from : @rosaliethomson4655 |
It’s all hype Comment from : @jeffreytan-yf6qt |
Since you are looking at a 25 year projection, ypu may want to figure in the cost of a new roof, drop in the output of your panels over time and weather Comment from : @christopherort2889 |
Think about it If ANYTHING produced money they would rent your roof, not make you buy it Comment from : @Rich-ey7jv |

STOP 🛑 the scams Comment from : @Dytopjewa7631 |
Biggest scam out there right now it sounds like Comment from : @thesniperviper3146 |
Without government subsidies solar panels are a scam Did you factor in the cost of removing solar panels when a new roof is needed? Did you factor in the cost of recycling them? Taking them off the roof is one cost and recycling them is another That will be a minimum of $10,000 Comment from : @joep5358 |
No of course it isn't worth itbrYou had to invest thousands of dollars up front just to break even years later It was a terrible investment brbrIt also is not environmentally friendly There was already a fully operational power grid, building your own mini one that is much less efficient is just extra strain on resources It's bad for the environmentbrbrIt does offer portability if you were in an isolated situation, but other than that it is probably the least efficient form of power Comment from : @reubenhandel210 |
