I would've liked to see a loan breakdown if you took one, or if you paid cash My energy bill averages about $300 a month, but if panels last 25-35 years, and a loan will cost $300 a month for 10 years, I think that would be a win Means my energy bill is essentially locked in at $300 a month, and after 10 years, I'll have zero energy bills for hopefully 15-25 years If for the following 10-25 years you placed that $300 into a savings account, you'll have $36-90k cash saved on electric bills in a savings account, meaning next panel setup you do, you can pay in full with cashbrbrA lot of people may have a larger home, but not a readily available cash pile of $50k to just drop on solar panels right away Would be great to see what you would do in a situation like that

136 yrs to break even that is not that bad but!!!!! The Tesla power wall is estimated to last 10 to 15 years Those batteries are so expensive it looks like you are at best pre paying your electric bill every 14yrs Granted replacing only batteries is way less expense than installing whole system but still batteries are extremely expensive I’m just not convinced that solar is the way to go

I think your cost is higher because of how big the system is and it is Tesla However, having an EV vehicle makes this work for you Definitely a good investment My biggest concern is what is the damage to the roof? I think you can continue to get returns on your investment by taking advantage of the Inflation Reduction Act incentives and fully electrifying your home Eg, swap out the gas HVAC with a heat pump, swap out a gas stovetop with an induction top, etc

a few factors not factored in - i think there is a 30 probability that energy prices could go vertical up 20-25 per yr AI and more are drivng energy demand sky high and we are in first inning i think 25 chance gasoline prices could double in next 5 yrs - i think 75 chance dollar and all fiat declines signficantly - with longevity meds aroudn the corner avg life exectpancy for healthy 50 year old could be 100 - so main decision point ends up being how long will dome stay in the home
