I think a very quick route for most people to retire is by investing in the stock market It's risky, though, particularly at an uncertain time such as this I have lost more than $140k, but my portfolio is still significant, about $320k, but I'm not confident about picking stocks anymore Are there really no other options for me to gain from the stock market? The prospect of having to financially provide for you while your kids are at the age of providing for their own kids? That's a lot to put on someone At least with education loans there are programs to lower payments and even apply for forgiveness And like, if you have the money, totally do save for your kid's school! But put money away for retirement first Comment from : @harmonicaveronica |
|
My parents took that 3rd tip Now they'll have enough to pay off their debt AND have even said they'll have enough to pay off my and my sisters undergrad loansbrbrAND I don't have to worry about taking c a re of them when they're older Comment from : @FIRING_BLIND |

Tax differed retirement plans worked in the 70s through the 90s Now that the Biden administration is raising taxes so high the benefits are no longer there and you will pay far more tax now than in years past Move to a state that has no income tax and one that doesn't tax social security Inflation in the last two years has consumed most people's disposable income Plan on working longer to supplement the added cost to retirement Comment from : @JNash-ro5on |

I’m in my late 20s, with an Ivy undergrad & now at the same Ivy for grad school, applying the PhD this fall (my realm of study is Anthropology, & I plan to be a professor & publish, not only academic works hopefully & maybe dip into Art Theory & keep doing my own art if I can) I feel awful as I spent half of my 20s in a serious heroin addiction & so I have NO raised money & my father refuses to let me take out loans for school He was a well-known lawyer when I was young & at 73, he still does some law work from home, so no not fully retired I feel awful about it but I’ve only been clean two years, I just got back into school (like I said for what technically is my second MA degree but I don’t count the first) & I don’t know how to help I get overwhelmed too easily so working & being in an intense Ivy grad is too much at once I don’t want to end up back on drugs I know that’s a choice technically, but sometimes I have trouble controlling myself when I see my options as either that or suicide How can I help him? I feel like I am running out of time & I want him to retire… he deserves it Comment from : @aevelyn5498 |
