I'm 59 and just started investing in VOO, $500 a month or I try to buy at least 1 share a month My present job does not offer a savings or retirement plan, I'm only a contract employee in the oilfield I already receive a small monthly pension from state job retirement plan which I put towards paying my house off I should have it paid off in 3 years when I fully retire at 62

Why is it that when you divide the total return by the number of years you don't get the avg annual return?brFor example , for the 10 years mark the total return is 5271 Supposedly a 5271 aveg annual return but the av annual return indicated 432 Does that take inflation into account ?

Great video and just more evidence depicting how easy investing truly is Buffett always discusses investing in the S&P if that is all someone did, they would be just fine I am a HUGE fan of continuously investing into the foundation of my portfolio which is split between VTI and VTSAX
