@MithunDas-yf2fu
The Canadian government should not be responsible for old age pension or tax working people
Comment from : @MithunDas-yf2fu

@surprisek3918
If you earn a lot, and even into retirement (through investments and such) do they claw back CPP or OAS?

@bettyarsenijevic5732
How payments are updated using the Consumer Price Index brOld Age Security payment amounts are reviewed each year in January, April, July and October to ensure they reflect cost of living increases, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) br brNote: For the January to March 2025 quarter, the benefit amount has not changed from the previous quarter This is due to the fact that the CPI for the last 3-months used to calculate the quarterly adjustment (August, September and October 2024) decreased slightly compared to the previous period
Comment from : @bettyarsenijevic5732

@kenkeil9067
Seems great but with rental increases it is not sufficientI receive about 1900 OAP and CCP A friend of mine has no CCP but receives Cdn SupplementHer OAP and supplement is almost as much as my total pension!
Comment from : @kenkeil9067

@Mavatar11
Fck the pension plan lets talk about the wages working for AHS it sucks no wage increase for 10 years let that sink in, i am the same person since i worked for AHS and how i spend my money nothing has changed I let my car go because i can't afford it, i live in a high rent bachelor suite now, it would be nice to have a store-bought steak once in a while but i can't now afford it i shop at Walmart for food which is cheaper, I have to make $100 dollars worth of food to last me for two weeks make that make sense No I am not a gambler i am not a spree shopper nor am i a drug addict or alcoholic, my struggle gets worse and worse every year nothing gets better for me except i do know that we pay are hard earned tax dollars going to rising prices, addicts, homeless, wars ect, as a hard working Canadian i struggle like many others because our system is messed up because Government doesn't know how to control the underhanded people that were voted to run our country

It seem funny to me that my OAS was less by 1800 this month Is this what the Government will do to seniors? Take a little amount off each month in hopes we wouldn't notice 1800 is a lot to seniors who can't afford rent, food etc All Trudeau's promises to take care of seniors is lies Check your OAS to see if there is less there

@alissaht
I have 2 questions: 1) I am currently 56 years old and have worked in Canada for 15 years, with my annual salary ranging from $20,000 to $50,000 I am interested in knowing how much I can expect to receive from the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS) after having moved to Asia to teach 2) Is it possible for me to receive CPP and OAS benefits while residing overseas?

Comment from : @subarui

@dwaynejohnson6277
The CRA site gives you estimate assuming you retire at 65 What if you want to retire early - say 55? This means no contributions for last 10 yrs Is there a way to scale the amount back to arrive at a calculated estimate of the cpp in this case?
Comment from : @dwaynejohnson6277

@mobahr4370
What is the average tax percentage you pay on your pension if say all of your pension income combined is around $60000?
Comment from : @mobahr4370

@MM-tw6cm
55 in 2 months, retiring in approx 4051 days ( 1 yr after turn 65 for max benefits through work)- thankyou for straight forward info, of course in the next number of 1000's of days im sure there is going to be some sort of recalc necessary !
Comment from : @MM-tw6cm

@jonmacist
You were always better off not paying into the CPP and saving that money yourself in a savings investment at 8 for 2 years that is likely 25 Million saved for retirement, instead or ok with trusting the government to give you your CPP back at retirement, yet its way less than what you put into it, and its not even garenteed that you get it but you have to pay into it, yet everyone is ok with this, just like mandatory EI which if you need it they give you a hard time, and again eveyone is ok wih this, that EI savings would have been another 1 million plus saved, so you said no to 35 million
Comment from : @jonmacist

@dionisiodussart5629
CPP who would really rely on CPP ?
