Going through my first divorce here in texas Im also a disabled veteran and get paid at the 100 level I have 1 child and my ex wifes laywer wants me to pay Guidline child support plus medical and dental This is going to kill me financially Any advice from other veterans who have gone through this? My va disability compensation is my only income Will this still be counted as income and be taken for child support?

Not what I've heard for spousal support The court can and will garnish your disability for child support "in the best interest of the child"

But is it normal that my husband put his ex wife as his dependents in VA even I am married to him? He put her as his (SPOUSE/DEPENDENTS in VA not me) even we are married for 8 years and still living together…😢😢😢

I’ve been a veteran since 2003, been through 4 divorces, and none of them have received any of my money or things However, my sons mom got 5000 for my son Should have went to him, but he was under age I’ve been divorced for two years now 🤷🏻‍♂️

Great info I was always under the assumption that VA Disability Pay was protected in divorces If I recall correctly, there used to be a time when government pensions were protected When my parents divorced in 1982, my mother was prohibited to touching my father's postal police pension Once he retired from that job my mother never saw anything My dad went on to work and later retire as a Sarasota cop
