Can you do a video comparing the Shure SM57 to the DTP 340TT and 640 REX for a guitar cab with metal? I like my Sm57, but always felt it lacking Glenn Fricker likes the 640-REX and praises it constantly as his favorite guitar cab mic I can't find any good professionally recorded A/B videos showing all 3 of those mics with the same track, so tell the difference Thanks!brbrI'm not a professional, so I was curious if I could get by with a 340-TT and sound just as good as the 640-REX, because I use an SE Electronics Portable Isolation Filter, and I would need a mic that has a normal "tail" section XLR mount on it to mount the mic in there, and the 640-REX does not, and requires a special mount on a normal mic stand Is there any chance you might could make a 640-REX for us guitar guys with the rear mounting section of a 340-TT (having a short "tail" that the XLR mounts into), and using the standard XLR 3-prong? Comment from : @TroyPosey |
Why not mic all 4 soeakers? Comment from : @antoniopizarro7670 |

Proximity effect (position 1) will always be the beefiest You should demonstrate center position but at different distances Thats actually a more useful demo Comment from : @Mdjagg |
Theres a sound guy in town that hangs a 57 over the front of guitar amps like they're 906's, and it always sounds like absolute trash Comment from : @Mdjagg |

it seems obvious to me today, but for years i would just put a mic in front of my amp, and be surprized that it sounded either like a swarm of bees, or like my head was in a cardboard box Comment from : @amaurythewarrior |

Turning a guitar up loud does not make it sound better it just makes you go deaf Distortion hides lazy playing those who can sound badass with no or only a little distortion are more interesting yet rock just as hard listen to acdc those guitats have basically no distortion do yourself a favor and tone down the volume and gain you will be amazed at how your playing improves and recordings improve and sound more unique Comment from : @dovemaarika1668 |
Wow, the difference is crazy Comment from : @koenignero |
Proximity effect Distance is just as, if not more, important than the relative placement to the center of the dust cover Comment from : @MatthewSwasta |
Try this again but with proper gain compensation, proper tuning, better tone, and maybe sweeten the pot with context within a mix, like, “why would you choose this position?” brbrYa welcomebr🤌🤌 Comment from : @heathenflair |
