Personally, I buy whatever 1964 Kennedy half dollars I can find, as for the most part they are uncirculated or very near so I even sold hundreds of $50 face bags of them on Ebay over 20 years ago and always got more than the average listing for "typical" 90 Halves of all varieties Any Kennedy AU's with just a bit of rub will usually weigh as an unc also Sure you have to check the edges and or date, but frankly I'd LOVE to find a real 1964 CLAD Kennedy Half! The rarity would be a sure winner!!! (as I don't believe any have been found to date?)brbr I also used to buy 90 silver Washington quarter full $1K bages, and sort out all of the many uncirculated and near so coins for the same reason, full weight of silver and not the "average" 715 ounce of fine silver if buying the coins by their count Roosevelt dimes also are good to do that, but a lot more time involved! 🙂brbr One thing to keep in mind is when I worked for a store we'd bring sometimes a few dozen full bags of 90 down to the Heraeus Refinery in New Jersey, and they opened all the bags and only credited the silver to the stores account BY WEIGHT! If TSHTF, I've always believed an unc coin will garner a premium over a "slick" very worn coin! And as silver goes higher even more so And if TSHTF, folks will LEARN the difference between a silver coin or clad, even on the smaller Roosevelts and even Washington quarters! Forgetting about price appreciation? Or assuming it will jist mirror inflation? A MERC dime could be worth $5 instead of $240or more! Comment from : @HH-gn9qt |

Am retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen It's so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on Comment from : @MackHenry-w9n |

People will pay with ROLLs of dimes, not always 1 or 2 Are you going to count every roll? Easy to remove 1 form each roll much like old coins were scraped on the edge Comment from : @andybusard6694 |
Hi, does Harry ship to the UK ? Comment from : @malcolmlewis7057 |

Your stacking the wrong things for if STHF event happens You can’t eat silver or gold or use it to defend yourself That being said collect the coins you like I like the art work on older coins better than dead presidents Comment from : @Mr1DANBOY |

When buying junk silver from coin shops or online dealers, do they check all the dates, weeding out more important dates to sell individually for example? Comment from : @hubster4477 |
Location? Comment from : @Kryptomon |
I really feel that if you're stacking with bartering in mind, it's important to have different variations of all denominations It's not so much of what you like, but rather what the seller is more open to Comment from : @johnluke4718 |
The young man in the video nailed it You can lay down any combination of fractional coins, but if the situation is so dire that you are using silver coins as currency, the silver dollar will win It's just more appealing Also, get used to the idea of overpaying for any goods or services in those circumstances So while everyone is counting their Roosevelt's and figuring out weights, you can just lay down a large coin and walk away with the goods Comment from : @jojeda13 |
Great shop and knowledge Comment from : @eddiebaird8368 |
Do people buy old coins and melt them down? Comment from : @coffeedonutsandhomer653 |

Weigh 500 face of Merc's and 500 face of Rosie's There will be a huge difference Comment from : @JEviston |
If it comes to a shtf situation, what are the coins going to be valued at face value? Or will it be based on silver and gold value? In venezuela they are using gold at market value Based on weight Comment from : @rickhicks6833 |
This was very helpful to me being new to stacking Thank you! Comment from : @shipleypestsolutions |

Hi, so I am wanting to start of investing in silver, my question is this, I can buy silver Britaina 1oz coins cheaper than a 1oz bar, but when I come to sell will I get the price as the bar would bring? They both 1oz silver but is there a difference Thanks Comment from : @Upthetoon1984 |
Great video Comment from : @paullopes846 |

Mercury Dime all day long Personally I can’t stand the Roosevelt Dime, or the man 🤠👍 Comment from : @ManDad_1964 |
If the system that broken, and we are into barter, wouldn’t a $60 purchase be made, starting with a full ounce?? Comment from : @rickbruceroche2038 |
Harry is the Goat the legend Comment from : @Uncle_Dalty2 |
I absolutely LOVE these types of videos! I really didn’t look twice at junk silver except finding it out and about to sell later Bartering with silver is a newer concept to me but I love it! I will end up getting some of all of them anyway! Dimes, quarters, halves, barter bags, divisible bullion! Comment from : @ZachTheHobbyist |
But with the dimes you can break into 10ths quarters by 4ths 70 cents could be paid without loss the quarter loses value and leaves a nickel of silver on the table Comment from : @AlvinUselton |
Super great video Comment from : @johnnyeller4035 |
I’m not understanding why he is saying Mercuries have no copper Am I missing something? Comment from : @salvatorelivreri |
I prefer mercury dimes Comment from : @Breadfromspirit |
Thank You for Teaching US about how to secure our families & our country Comment from : @theoalexander733 |
My opinion cost per weight! Who cares what it is? When shtf silver and gold will skyrocket! So those small ones will be worth much more You need divisibility Comment from : @davidresar8256 |
The Coinflation App is a fast lookup for junk coin spot value Comment from : @maryricketts7337 |

The greatest of discussions have the topic pulled in support of different things! It seems all three of you learned from each other, and agreed with different situations that may change your investment behaviors That’s a successful discussion! Thanks for including us :) I learned a lot Comment from : @7fall |
I buy Roosevelt dimes because of less wear, but I have quarters and halves and 1 once rounds as well I like having a mix because you don't know what you might have to purchase and how much it might take to get it 🤷 Comment from : @JohnDoe-zl6ph |
A guy I met in a camping supply store told me the default coin of the prepping world is the mercury dime because in history 1/10th of an ounce of silver was worth a hard day labor in the ancient times and when silver revalues it will be back to that level Comment from : @gabet945 |
should do the reverse as well AU merc vrs worn rossie see what the diff is there Comment from : @Light256 |
Back in the early 1960s I would walk around with change in my pocket, all denominations But my favorite was Half dollars followed by quarters Seldom carried a silver dollar In the 1980s working in a retail store, we seldom used half dollars, but quarters were the choice We'd take anything Comment from : @5ivestring |
I like halves 😊 Comment from : @Robert-e2h9z |
You ,! Yeh You , buy your gold and silver from Harrr'$ coin shop Comment from : @markkatz6170 |

The bottom line is to diversify NOBODY knows what is ahead, but we all know that SOMETHING is ahead Great video! Comment from : @henrymorgan3982 |
The other aspect that I never thought about before watching this is that the “price” of everything will be “higher” than what is you are paying? Something to think about Great question video! Comment from : @henrymorgan3982 |
Don’t buy junk!!! If they are junk why you buying it ????🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔why they’re Making it ??? Comment from : @akbarfarzin9857 |
When bartering in those situations your not going say, too bad you don't have a different kind of silver dime Your going to either want silver or want something for silver That being said, I love the Mercs best Comment from : @fodyangels5627 |
Fascinating program! Thank you Comment from : @alkoenig85 |
It’s all about Bottle caps 😊😊 Comment from : @doubled3962 |
I imagine generally larger transactions would be done with a weighted system, versus boiling down to coin types as much Comment from : @graymatters6155 |
i got $4000 of halves from the bank to hunt silver , and only got 5 jfk’s of 40 😢 Comment from : @kurgin |
Silver is selling because the AVERAGE person CANNOT afford gold! Very simple! Comment from : @DonnyHootieHoot |
so do you guys sell by the weight or the coin in terms of the junk? it's usually FV--this is making me think thank you for the thought provoking video! Comment from : @Addicted_to_Freedom |
You said the silver is the only thing that is in there that is money what planet to you live on? All of the metals are valuable Copper is VERY valuable used in electronics During WWII they put silver in nickels because they needed the nickel more And if there really is an apocalyptic situation, do you really think any of this would have value? Food, water, ammunition would be what would have true value Comment from : @davidhaydon9023 |
Stacking silver for to see who, Oz ? Comment from : @Dandelion0962 |
Mercury dimes are my favorite 90 to stack Comment from : @CCM2361- |
When I first started stacking years ago, I didn’t know WHAT to buy, so I just bought it all Every kind of silver I could get my paws on Same with gold - whatever I could afford I only wish I'd collected more! Other tangible items I've collected as well, storable food, leather goods, signed costume jewelry, art, etc Anything you can trade once our dollars explode into worthless confetti Global elites want an electronic beast system We'll have to fight them during a tribulation until honest weights & measures return Comment from : @coco8386 |
I like half dollars Franklin's and 64 Kennedys usual very little wear I also have a lot of quarters which usually have lighter wear Comment from : @imxploring |
Buy 'em cheap and stack 'em deep The best silver is the silver you have Comment from : @70below |
beware of the scammers commenting on @OliviaBuffett comment every single one including @OliviaBuffett is part of the scam Comment from : @FuckTheGlobal |
Nobody is going to carry a scale around and weigh dimes Mercuries are more recognizeable and more desirable Look at the difference Harry has in stock of mercury vs Roosevelts Comment from : @fkillah |
what are you going to barter for if nothing is being produced? what worth will the silver have if you cannot get or even replace anything with it? Comment from : @JV-wq1ct |
I have 40 gem bu morgan dollars, 40 gem bu peace dollars, 320 gem bu franklins, 100 gem bu walkers, 320 proof '64 kennedies, 1225 gem bu mercury dimes, and 680 gem bu pre65 Washington's qtrs and I PROMISE I get the most out of my Mercury's 😅 Comment from : @inmintstate |
Not really many fake dimes out there Comment from : @toddgwinn8395 |
Quarters Comment from : @dennisbuck4139 |
One thing that was not mentioned was 40halves I stacked a fair amount years ago when they were not popular and even sold under melt Will take knowledge or a analyzer to buy/sell Comment from : @ronv6637 |
Yep, love the halves Comment from : @TheCowvmd2004 |
Plus, the fact that Mercury dimes and Barbara dimes always have a numismatic premium Even if silver crashes they’re going to be worth more than the very unattractive Roosevelt dimes brbrPlus, they’re just the issue that Roosevelt was a lousy president and the Mercury dime harkens to the hate day of American aesthetics Comment from : @kitrichardson5573 |
Why do people think silver will be valuable if society collapses? Food, water, guns and ammo would be much more valuable I’d rather stock up on food than silver Comment from : @cullensanner8823 |
to me todays dimes quarters and half dollars are more duller than the silver ones Comment from : @jamesorth6460 |
Thank you Comment from : @jackcahill2383 |
I don't usually click on DEALER VIDS but I found THIS very INFORNATIVE! I'm a Canadian in Canada and have been stocking up on Merc Dimes for a couple of reasons I like UNIFORMITY of my STACK I want a LOT of the SMALLEST sized recognizable AG in case the AG price SKYROCKETS and ESPECIALLY for SHTF WHEN SHTF worn or NOT I will be DEMANDING the same price whilst BARTERING! Also I've ceased obtaining coinage having a likeness of any EVIL VAMPIRE MONARCHS (which is ALL OF THEM) or PRESIDENTS dead or alive that lost my TRUST Next week I'll purchase a couple of face value bucks of Mercs and try not to GASP when I see the price in CANADIAN DOLLARS THANKS FOR THIS Really appreciated! Comment from : @jeffbryan3224 |
Fantastic information if you're just starting out, or you want to keep current and informed! Comment from : @tonyziegler5639 |
