It definitely has nothing to do with marketing It's just refined down an extra step as the 5, 9's is refined again even further The reason for refining down so far has more to do with what the gold or silver is used for 5 9's gold would be used for a NASA or medical project for example and or extremely sensitive equipment As for stackers and investors it does not matter

When it comes to purity of silver, for stacking there is no difference But if it comes down to real silver shortage in the industries that use silver in their production, 9999 will always win over 999 So if it comes down to this, you will have much better chance selling your maples to them than eagles And that means you have much more potencial buyers for your silver treasure of maples than eagles
