Wow in early 2025, my local bullion dealer is buying back at 75 of the silver value (-25) which is really low compared to when this video was made That type of difference makes it very unattractive I'm more interested in cheap 1 oz silver rounds instead And for those people thinking of using this to barter in a monetary depresion or global calamity, good luck trying to explain and or convince the average joe blow or store owner about it's "true" value at that time, it would seem to me to be way too much of a headache and ultimately to be unsuccesful in whatever transaction you were trying to make anyway 👎

Canadian resident will have to pay a 15 percent tax on junk silver This should be factored into the final cost

I'm Canadian, too, and find silver from time to time (10 and 25 cents) coin roll hunting Sometimes I buy silver dollars when the price is right for me 3 weeks ago, I got over 5 full rolls of silver dimes!! That was my lifetime largest silver find at face value About half of these dimes were the 1867-1967 Mackerel 10 cents! I sound test them, that's the best way to check if 80 or 50, and quite a few fall in each category I also like the 1968s even though they only can be 50 (when not nickel) Those 2 years fascinate me, and finding a coin from 1967 (especially) adds a little bit of fun to the collecting experience Luckily, last week, I found the 1867-1967 Bobcat 25 cents in the teller's tray I couldn't officially say if it's 80 or 50 before I could get home and also ping a pre-1967 80 and a 1968 50 The 1967 I got is, finally, 50 silver I enjoy stacking these, because I'm 100 sure these are not those Chinese scam fakes I would fear if stacking another way I also like to stack USA silver, but not that easy to get here in Canada (CRH) I keep all the ones I could find, and in the 5 rolls of Canadian silver dimes, there were 3 American 90 silver dimes I am so happy about this find, and keep good hope for the future

I love US and Canadian junk US junk is by far the best type of fractional, but if I can find a spot or under spot deal on Canadian junk I'll pick up It's the only foreign silver I get as Canadian coinage is the next most familiar type of coinage in America

I love Canadian 80 It is easy to find, is available at low premiums even after the ungodly sales tax Because it is 80 it is very robust and often is is very good shape

So I saw some on sale today Having a math background I did some simple calculations With silver at $21/oz A Canadian dollar has $1260 worth of silver A peace dollar has $1890 worth of silver The Canadian will cost me $918 for that silver($1535 ea) at a typical price of $32 ea for peace dollars, that silver costs me $2880 I think I'll buy some Canadian silver Those are looking at AU condition Cull peace dollars are cheaper, buthave less silver

Another Interesting fact! Coin roll hunting in Canada is much less productive that the US since are government has a program in place "the Alloy Recovery Program" to skim the silver coins out of circulation as they come through the mint

Interesting fact The 1967 Bobcat quarter is typically 50 I have read that only the proof Bobcat was 80 Just recently picked up a roll of 80 silver from Apmex, noticed i had two Bobcat quarters in the roll Contacted Apmex to see if they were tested and they explained they were not but are machine rolled and they were happy to help me out with the mistake right away by offering to ship me replacements or crediting my account Thanks for the content

Can someone explain why Maples shot up so high? Even Monument's premium is up to $565 on Maples the highest I've ever seen it so far So I checked SDB and they're another $060 higher than Monument Why are Maples so much higher all of a sudden? They're 40 cents higher than Britannias

I think any ‘junk’ silver regardless of country of issue is good as long as you know the silver content in them and do your research on them Also be prepared that they could be harder to sell than your local ‘junk’ silver from your country

About 15 years ago I was in a small grocery store, the owner was freaking out when the customer in front of me was using a Canadian quarter as part of his payment The store owner ranted & raved about how Canadian money wasn't worth as much as US money and refused the quarter The lady behind me beat me to it & said I'll take the quarter saying she had never seen one So the store owner got his US money

CAD canoes go for a big premium in the UK so I love them - especially the Totem and Goose Nice easy maths too 06 per Dollar so you only need to know your 6 times table I have over 100 in Dollars and some halves and quarters And if you think about the population of Canada it is rarer too It doesn't have the "Not invented here" premium and I picked most of it up barely over spotbrbrOne caveat though - the 1967 diving goose is 50 so be aware of the difference

when I go to my local shop I ask for their lowest premium silver and usually, QE2 CAD quarters come up and I hunt for the 80ers won't get 100 melt considering I pay melt on them but I am in silver for the long haul
