We don’t have coupons in Australia 🙄 we have rewards points to save & use for Christmas with supermarkets If it’s on sale I stock up & I don’t buy items unless on sale I started my prepper pantry this way Two for now one for later❤️

I can my ,Turkey meats carrots,potatoes,green beans for quick heated soups,and even crock pot meals polish coins with ,green beans & potatoes and u even have meat balls,meatloaves and Salisbury steaks canned up for winter yet meals just add mashed taters and gravy a veggie

Like you, I left behind the frozen chicken breast and went for the fresh, but 80 of all the chicken breasts I have bought have been tough that are fresh, for whatever reason I went back to the frozen chicken breast, and they are usually always tender🤷🏻‍♀️

Learning pressure canning has been a great money saver for us We can preserve a lot of our garden harvest that way, it is shelf stable so doesn't require electricity, and it allows us to make canned beans and canned meat from bulk bought items Plus, the meat is completely cooked coming out of the pressure canner, so I can use it to make dishes extra fast since I don't have to cook the meat - I'm just warming it up!

excellent ideas!bri purchased a vacuum sealer early 2024 and I use it for meat storage and my prep vegebles like onions, potatoes (blanche first) celery, carrots peppers brMuch less food waste!

I have at least 4 cans of each of the following in my cabinets on a peninsula: chickpeas, black beans, dark red kidney beans, cannellini beans, great northern beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, stewed tomatoes, coconut milk, diced tomatoes with green chilis, etc I can put the new ones in on the back side of the cabinet, very helpful

The best way to save on groceries is to not go to the grocery store I seldom go to the grocery store brbrIts not as crazy as it sounds But it does require a change in how you do things and what you eat brbrQuarterly, I place a large dry goods order I buy dried beans, flours (my kid is a celiac), pasta, coffee, sugar, dried fruits and nuts, sweetners, oats, rice, etc in 5 to 50lb increments Versatile ingredients that allow you to cut down waste because I only cook what i need brbrI go to the farmers market weekly for what I cant grow, all my dairy, winter eggs, and a small amount of meat brbrVegtable heavy meals, with beans nuts or eggs, along with a grain, (bread, pasta, oats, rice) brbrWe didnt do this to save money initially For us it was a way to avoid the endless supply chain concerns, recalls and processed food brHowever, this had side effect of cutting costs, and minimizing the effects of grocery inflation Collectively, my family of 5 also lost 100 lbs in the first year

Not really saving on grocheries but food: over the next few weeks till my wedding I am begining to stock up not only some staples (starting with a 100 empty pantry) but also frozen versions of the meals we eat out most often Orange chicken and rice costs $4 for both of us vs $20 at Panda Goal is eventually have a fully stocked pantry we could eat out of for a month (or longer), but the baby step of dramatically reducing our eating out is something I am very much looking forward to
