Since Covid I keep a prepper pantry If it’s on sale or half price I bulk buy Especially items that have long shelf life eg toiletries, vitamins, pasta, rice, tins food etc❤️

Hey Mac Subscribed Great advice! I live by myself and i plan each of the month in these categories brWeek 1 : Chicken weekbrWeek 2 : Beef WeekbrWeek 3 : Pasta WeekbrWeek 4 : Fish WeekbrbrWithin each week, I make meals that last 3-5 days based off of the protein of the Week If I don't want to eat those, I make a sandwich or some soup

@consaboramiel
I'm only listening to the beginning of the video and I'm not doing this because if I plan I probably won't be saving money unless the dishes I have in mind are on sale at the time I go to the grocery store What I do is go to the supermarket to see what's on sale after checking the brochure Many times I find discounts at the supermarket that I will not see in the brochure, and I also add the rewards that the supermarket could have given me for previous purchases And from there, once I know what is cheap for the week, I plan the meals for the week I should be able to use what helps me stretch my budget instead of buying what I think I need because I have cravings What I really need I buy in bulk at the beginning of the month or two or three months, it will depend on the amount I use, I put that aside and I don't worry anymore, and it can be oil, flour, eggs, laundry soap, etc Try it and you will see that you save a lot! I agree with preserves like tomato sauce, jam, etc I do it too, I spend money in August, I have tomatoes all year round Yes I agree with the hunger part, which my father taught me, you go hungry and buy at the supermarket instead of what you really need :), and yes, you buy considering the money you have in your pocket for the supermarket! Thank you for the video!

Comment from : @deliarealtor

Comment from : @ginnymiller5894

@stephenbarnes5174
Your wrong buying bulk is not the cheapest option, buy the reduced items that go out of date the same day and make a meal or meals from that, some reductions are upto 90 discount so your paying next to nothing, also most can be frozen to use a later date Also planning meals is not cheaper, best to make a meal ariund the items you get that are almost out of date so you work with what you have on discount
Comment from : @stephenbarnes5174

@Dana-ml7sy

@wendybradshaw5825
I use the Walmart pick up! That way I don't have to go in the store and buy $50 more than I was planning Saves time and money! 😁
Comment from : @wendybradshaw5825

@johnmorse3864
This one I believe you are off on Every time you are near the grocery store you should shop Other than your basic list like sugar, salt, butter,, etc you are capitalizing on what's on sale You will capture the most good deals this way You may leave the store some days with 2 items and some days you may fill the car up depending what's on sale Plan your meal based on sales of big ticket items Add sides that you have purchased and preserved previously along with what you can grow and you will have great meals at a low cost When you visit often you will also capitalize on discounts on otherwise frivolous items that you wouldn't purchase otherwise and this will keep your menu interesting
Comment from : @johnmorse3864

Check the unit price carefully At several stores around us, the smaller packages also have lower per unit price They also show some product size per ounce and larger size per item 😕 I keep my calculator handy in order to figure it out myself

@barbaranewman7599
Are you factoring in utility costs? I don’t know how to do that For example, canned beans verses all the gas spent in time cooking dry beans
Comment from : @barbaranewman7599

@Bloodhoundjed1
I always like to check the sales ads from a couple of stores And I will make a list from those stores of the sale items to pick up(Thankfully, they are only a couple of blocks from each other, so one trip for both stores) I do my main grocery shopping at a completely different store, that doesn't have sales ads, and I think the prices are cheaper on most of their stuff I don't necessarily meal plan, because I never know what we are doing in our daily lives But, I like to keep things in stock to make certain meals
Comment from : @Bloodhoundjed1

Planning is always what we do It's hard to get everything done in a day when there's kitchen food to fix from scratch My children help me quite a bit
Comment from : @aaronmast1543

@perspectv1
I have been doing all those things since I was young My grandparents went through the great depression, and my parents were very frugal All of them had an impact on how I plan, shop, prepare, and cook meals Cooking was always something that had my interest, so becoming a certified chef about 18 years ago was natural for me and learned so much I can cook practically anything Owning a restaurant really sharpened my skills with purchasing, planning, streamlining my cooking, and eliminating as much waste as possible Learning how to make an entirely new meal out of leftovers is one of my best skills just by using herbs, spices, sauces, and different heating methods was a big bonus for me This all helps me be very flexible when shopping - but DO read your ingredient labels and put back on the shelf what needs to be put back
Comment from : @perspectv1

@sarahgrooms5606
Read the labels before you buy it Most products have bioengineered ingredients in it now Pickled beets, dry broth, liquid cheese, some breads and pre made cakes, just about everything is having it in there Grow your own and go back to natural ways of cooking and eating food Just my opinion, I am old fashioned
