I loved that you mention you just have to buy less It’s actually what I did for our no spend January this year It worked! We went without store bought snacks…It doesn’t work forever for us, but we did save money in our no spend month for our vacation… and paid off our Christmas debt! Cured meat doesn't mean that it has atrifical preservants, it just means that it underwent a process of "preservation" that can go from drying (like spanish Jamón), smoking, salting up or, yes, using artifical preservaties Uncured means that it is simply not preserved, but fresh

Good stuff I'm big on making more and more at home At least I know what's going into it and that it's relatively non-toxic and reasonably healthy And oftentimes tastes better too! If you keep a full fridge, use see through containers that match the size of your fridge, or use lazy susan type products This has helped me a lot! Now I just pull a container out and can see in one glance what I have Also, if you frequently use certain items, have a spot reserved for them It's easier to figure what your fridge can reasonably hold that way And definitely do a declutter once in a while, no sense storing that salad dressing you tried but hated

I love the imperative of sticking to the meal plan no matter what I do allow myself to switch days within a week, but I make and eat everything for that week It doesn’t take long to figure out which meals I’m never in the mood for, and stop putting them on the meal plan! So many great tips Kallie! 3 quick things that save a ton on money - 1) making homemade yogurt in the instant pot and 2) one jar of Better Than Bullion makes almost 10 quarts of stock for about $1 more than 1 qt 3) one rotisserie chicken makes about 3 meals for 2 people plus about 3 qts of homemade stock (love my instant pot!)

There's lots in here that will help me :) thank u, I love pay check to pay check and can only spend at the very most 100 week on food preferably 75 So I definitely buy all the cheapest possibly stuff unless I realize the extra money I spend on a name brand or more expensive version is actually better such as hellmans mayo I'll splurge on or for whatever reason my cranberry juice has to be the ocean spray 100 juice one idk why but other than that almost everything is generic unless it's a very good sale :)

What usually runs my grocery bill up is not food (I meal plan and only buy what I need for that's week of meals) it's the "other stuff" The dog food, cat food, TP, trash bags, etc I do purchase some of that stuff from a "warehouse" store if the unit price is cheaper than I can get like at Walmart, but that stuff still adds up fast I don't have to purchase it every week and try to stagger the stuff out, but that's the real reason that my "grocery" bill seems to be so much each week Any tips????????
