Thanks for pointing out a better way to use the fence! I've tolerated measuring every cut on my 1015 for 3 years ☹️brbr (Un)fortunately, I haven't used the saw very often I've only made 9 smaller pieces of furniture I'm just discovering that I have the possibility of adding an aftermarket fence for about $300 and a much nicer miter gauge for $150 - My wife found the 1015 on sale for $200 during the holidays In this light, its still competitive with the price of the DewaltbrbrFor me, it's been a great saw so far I set it up properly and I get great, square cuts I added a Diablo 80 (?) tooth blade fairly early on, and I haven't sanded an edge sincebrbrGreat review! I just bought the Kobalt KT10152 which, I guess, is the 2nd generation of that saw Mine does not have the extender thing for larger boards Also, the miter gauge on mine doesn't "click" in for any of the settings And it's pretty loose in the slot I do like the fence system, though, which took some time to wrap my head around Annoyingly, the measurement gauge on the saw has no connection with reality-- I have to use a measuring tape to set board lengths No biggie, really I like that it accepts 10" blades, and can accommodate a dado stackbrbrEdit: My fence is quite different from yours Appears Kobalt fixed a problem! I have this saw no way I would have paid $329 for it got it for $179 on clearnce knew buying it the fence wasn't that great but what I didn't realise is the saw isn't removeable from the stand I was thinking if I was ever to upgrade the saw I could mount a new saw on the stand Comment from : @davidcorliss |

Thank you so much for a clear and informative video about this tool I will be purchasing my first table saw soon and this was very helpful I don't build guitar but play them Do you have a website showing your work? Cheers and best wishes 🎵 Comment from : @marca7434 |

It is important to have the mitre gauge as tight in the mitre slot without sticking brbrAll mitre gauges has a little play, but if it is made of aluminum like this one, take a punch and punch 4 or 5 dents along the length of it, this causes the aluminum to expand a bit and it will take away the play in it for better mitres Comment from : @johnr7499 |

too bad the newer #KT10152 replaced the metal kerf plate with a plastic one :^( and the miter gauge doesn't have the clicks anymore Comment from : @SEaudiofan |

If this table saw doesn’t do what you need it to, you don’t need to do woodwork This saw is a beast, hands down Comment from : @nickxcaliber7991 |

You guys don't know how fortunate you are in the States You paid $268 but in Australia the equivalent would be in the order of $750 or more Comment from : @kelstra1997 |

That was my first table saw Used it to do the floors in my house But, I had an issue with the fence It would only expand out 6 inches, or so Tried to get a replacement system, and no one sold them Overall, it was a good saw tho Comment from : @paulwaldrop |

That looks exactly like my Bosch 4000 I paid more for mine used! Comment from : @DavidRavenMoon |

I don’t like the metal plate because of kick back It’s a job site saw, it’s not nearly as sturdy as full cabinet makers saw Just imagine if you get some kick back, the blade hits the side, and a piece of metal comes flying at you I did like this saw though, but ended get a dewalt If you waited till they clearance last years dewalt models, you can get them for 299 That’s what I did I never comment much but really enjoy watching your videos Thanks for making them Comment from : @darioduarte319 |

When I started out trying to make musical instruments I bought a small Bosch tablesaw I soon gave up on it Although my main interest is making guitars, I also had quite a bit of shop furniture to make I got frustrated with the noisy universal motor, and the flimsy plastic mounting system for the motor - frequently going out of square The very short fence makes it hard to do a long rip that isn't curved The miter slots were quite inaccurate The right rip width was too small Finally, the anodized aluminum top had a slight sag, and made it impossible to use my favorite magnetic featherboard I finally settled on a Ridgid contractor saw Cast iron top, etc I admit that it has a huge footprint in my tiny garage shop, but at least it has a mobile base / lift system that lets me jockey it around (with difficulty) I have not regretted the purchase Quieter, more accurate and more stable As of yesterday I also upgraded my bandsaw I had been trying to make do with a 10" Rikon bandsaw, but finally got fed up with the light aluminum wheels and mickey-mouse blade guides I am in the process of assembling a new 14" Craftex bandsaw that was on sale at Busy Bee Tools for 1/3 off brbrIt's not that I crave deluxe tools all the time - no Festool or Sawstop stuff for me But plastic and aluminum just don't compare to cast iron and steelbrbrHowever, each to his/her own Love your channel Chris; hope the Kobalt saw works out Comment from : @djpenton779 |

Thanks for posting, Chris I love the foldaway nature of that saw As I move more and more back into this hobby, I've been trying to decide if I really need a table saw since I already have a bandsaw with a riser block Do you find the table saw indispensable? I am assuming the big advantages are sawing wider boards that will not clear the throat of the bandsaw and less worry about the blade flexing as you cut But are there other advantages of a table saw in luthrie? Thanks again for posting Comment from : @GosselinCreative |
