She needs to go to his grandmother's house and lay eyes on that lawn mower for herself I GUARANTEE it's not there I would bet money that he bought the most expensive lawn mower possible because he was turning around and selling it for the cash He can't buy drugs or gamble or maintain a mistress with a Lowe's credit card, he needed cash and buying the most expensive lawn mower and selling it for slightly less cash means he gets to do whatever it is he's doing and SHE is making the payments to fund it brbrThat theory about his deceased grandfather being his paternal role model and wanting to provide for his grandmother in his absence is just the story she's telling herself to ease the profound cognitive dissonance he's causing her by telling her one thing and repeatedly doing another She KNOWS nothing he says is adding up and she's trying to come up with any logical explanation that can fill in the gaps in a way that allows her to still see him as a good person He's most likely NOT a good person and she knows it already, she just needs to conquer whatever the part is inside of her that, for whatever reason, thinks she needs him or won't be okay without him This call was part of her internal war with herself, trying to find the right conclusion by getting "proof" from another person to validate what she already knows She'll get there, she's already on her way
