Sovereigns and half sovereigns are the best They are the easiest to sell, and protect you from selling for large amounts of money If you think gold price is currently going up in real terms value so fast, it won't be long until 1oz will be the equivalent of holding half a kilo or more in today's terms

Thanks Dan While I did not learn anything new at least you agree with what I have done in the past All I would add is that my gold is physical and is stashed in a bonded warehouse in Zurich so that the UK government can't get its grubby mitts on it

Assuming you are UK resident all you need to know is :-brbrBuy only Legal tender coins, Half Sovereigns, Sovereigns and Britannias, If your budget is really tight the Silver Britannias are better than nothing Avoid small gold fractionals as the premium is too high For example a gold sovereign will prove a better buy than a 1/4 Britannia at a similar pricebrbrRemember you don't buy gold to get rich, you buy it to avoid becoming poor Think 5 years minimum

Make an Excel table with the gold coins/bars you can afford, prices including shipping within your market, and cost per gram Were I live I usually get a better price per gram buying 5gr bars than Sovs and quarter ounces, and I only have to shell out 445€ for a bar instead of 640€ for a Sov that has a higher cost per gram

Can i just say buying a full sovereign from a dealer works out at £70 a gram a 2025 1 ounce britannia is virtually the same £70 a gram, its more expensive from some dealers The sovereign is king, a fractional piece of gold for the same premium as a 1 oz gold britannia, and much more affordable and desirable in my opinion And for a little over thousand pound you could get 2 sovereigns with a fine gold content of 1464 one winner to me sovereign's all day 👍
