I downloaded DaVinci a few months back and it’s very overwhelming I was using CapCut but features started to get locked unless you used the paid version I’ve read that Final Cut is far simpler than most other programs out there I’m tempted to jump on Final Cut save time and my sanity haha

Davinci is not hard or complicated at all and I've worked 24 years as an editor in all NLEs I went to Davinci 4 years ago and never looked back It also has Fusion (Like After Effects) FCP is just an editor, not an industry color platform, Editor and VFX powerhouse FCP x is now Imovie with some caffeine; that's it

Nice video 😊brI'm challenging myself to learn Davinci for a little while now, after over 10 years working on Final Cut profesionnallybrbrBut I just cannot find a way to edit in Davinci without this preview skimmer/mouse over 😅brbrI think this function deserve a video in it's own and every NLE should adopt it !brWhen editing, I barely press play ever, I just over, and I barely click too 🤷🏽‍♂️brbrFinal Cut is so fast and fluid, Davinci has a lot of extra useless clicks 🙄brbrFor example the Viewer 😳brIn final cut it just does what you need !brIf you are browsing your "bins" it will show you that, if you are in your timeline it will show you that 🤷🏽‍♂️brbrDavinci have this weird thing that you need to double click or play with toggles buttons to show what you are doing 😒

I have been editing digital video for over twenty years, started with Premier and have over time used both Resolve and FCP, guess which one I keep using… FCP If you have to edit lots of videos on an on going basis, for instance three or four videos a day, some only 5 minutes long some up to 2 hours long FCP kills it hands down I can edit faster with complex edits in FCP than any other editor Resolve is brilliant for long form masterpieces but you can get bogged down with the process Yes FCP is not as good when it comes to colour grading but FCP can do almost as good a job and you get the job done and move on The reality is most viewers don’t even see the work you put into the colour grading Most people see the story you have told via the edit Please don’t misunderstand what I am saying Resolve is a wonderful editing program way better than Premier and I still use it for that very special video project But when I have to get my hands dirty to knock out quantity and quality videos FCP is the best

As someone who has used FC for 15 years, and Resolve for the last 7, my biggest plus to Final Cut is the media management/library system I never lost a project in Final Cut and it's just easier to store the library files on an external drive to go from one machine to the next Cheers

I had a really great time working in davinci but there is one huge deal breaker - no proper preview of cutom titles in resolve Its a pain not to be able to preview them and see only T instead of what the title is

I’ve been overwhelming myself thinking about everything you said in this video I’m literally using all three of these software programs together, and here’s my experience:brbr- **Da Vinci Resolve**: Yes, it’s the best software at the moment, but it’s insanely overwhelming in basically everything It’s the best for multicam editing and autoreframe (better than CapCut) J and L cuts are as easy as in FCP, thoughbrbr- **Final Cut Pro**: Easy and intuitive platform and timeline like CapCut, but it’s missing all the new AI features, captions, effects, and built-in library It’s good for multicam editing, thoughbrbr- **CapCut Pro Desktop**: Probably we’re all scared to admit it, but it’s almost the complete software for 90 of the videos we make daily for YouTube or social media So far, the only big gap I see is the lack of multicam editing, but considering how they’re implementing features, it’s just a matter of timebrbrSo my question is, when are we going to get an FCP update with all the 2024 AI features and effects built-in? Resolve has a lot to learn from FCP when it comes to Multicam editing If you start working with files that have multiple audio tracks (polywaves from professional recorders like MixPre), the situation gets super messy- it doesn’t know what to do Also it sometimes fails to sync bidentical/b audio that FCP can sync in seconds (because it’s identical- duh!) brI would switch to DaVinci in an instant because of Color grading and audio mixing (FCP sucks in that department) but syncing audio and MC editing is such a basic thing that I don’t want to think about brGreat video man!

I have to disagree with you! I literally just switched from FCPX to Davinci this week and I am IN LOVE with everything! I learned most of my editing skills on FCPX but Davinci is just faster, designed better, offers more assets/effects/transitionsand of course just 2 wordsCOLOR GRADING!

02:46 you can change using short cut - its called Next Angle / Previous Anglebr03:11 again, resolve can do the same thing In Multicam Viewer there are options to use only video, only audio and both

L and J cuts are super easy in Resolve, just hold alt while you adjust the video or the video of the clipsbrbrFor green screens on the edit page, the 3D keyer is super fast and works with not evenly lit green screens as wellbrbrbtw capcut is just a rip off of FCP so I'm not surprised it has similar layout and tools lol

Solid points brother! Although you can shortcut change angle view in davinci multicam but you might need to create a custom shortcut I forget how I set it up
