My issue with 2016 is how much inconsistency it has In blood money i forgive it cuz it was pretty decent for its time even if its bad comparatively now But 2016 doesnt have that excuse Especially since they reiterated on it with 3 major releases Npcs will react differently to the same exact thing for no reason, randomly lose interest in distractions, see through walls, spot you from impossible angles and distances ( notoriously apparent on the haven map), guards are super inconsistent from being super agents to drooling idiots with how they react, and worse of all ? The community around hitman2016 is the biggest Stockholm syndrome community ever You CANNOT convince them that there's anything wrong with their beloved game or god forbid needs to be changed without being told youre wrong as they list 30 non-reasons as to why it's actually a feature and not self induced bdsm style torture as they restart the same assignment for the 50th time cuz a guard 5 mins into the level decided to turn their head right instead of left

Only ever got to play a bit of Blood Money way back as a rental, but I can see how the series has made some iffy decisions with its evolving mechanics over the yearsbrHopefully some of these things can come back into whatever follow the WoA trilogy, given it's mainly just some animation and interaction effects that should be super easy to reimplement I can get some of this was changed for the sake of making the newer games faster, but feels like they could easily resolve that by just making the game modes determine how the game plays-brbWoA mode: Game plays with the quick and simplistic setup of the recent trilogy/bbrbClassic mode: Kills are more brutal and play out longer/bbrbrThough they definitely need to make things like bloodstains be noticed no matter what, just hilarious that you can take out a target and nobody questions the small pool of blood sparkling in the sunlight Would also say that unconscious NPCs should wake up, that's generally been a thing in almost every stealth game Though I suppose they could make it dependent on how you knock someone out Being choked or bonked with a hammer would likely last longer compared to someone slipping on the floorbrI'm definitely all in favor of seeing the newspaper system return, though I guess now it would be something like a social media news broadcast reporting on whether an assassination was carried out in such a delicate way that nobody knows if it was an assassination, or if a Mr Clean cosplayer was running amok whooping like Daffy Duck while dressed up as a French maid and killing indiscriminately

I played blood money for the first time this year It's 20 years old and I was shocked at how incredible it is It's rare I enjoy a game as much as I did this onebrbrI've moved onto absolution now which is also great, has some great new features, like the wire going straight into dragging the corpse But I loved blood moneybrbrI dont know if this is in the og copy, but in the hd ps4 bundle it has a first person mode which makes aiming a dreambrbrBut its not just the gameplay that impressed me I thought the game to be a narrative masterpiece That ending was incredible I've played Hitman 2 and 1 and I enjoyed them, but not as much as this

In new hitman series I don't like how they introduce villains as badass bosses but when they will run away and never fight back In blood money they will shoot you, if take away their gun they will look for a gun and try to kill you Any npc found a gun will shoot you If there is a camera man he will record all the violence you do They don't have this features in new game

Honestly yea, if we had the hostage hold, the push and the leniency of not immediately having your rating ruined by stepping into restricted areas for a sec, new Hitman would be perfect brbrSome minor improvements would definitely be toning the poison down to syringes/one item, in general reducing the number of items and weapons that essentially do the same by slimming them down to one or two You could even go further and include customization like BM had to even further slim down the way too big arsenal of weapons Also yea, some minor animation improvements/inclusions such as the situational ones, like when an enemy is sitting down or the WA2000 assembly just because it was really fucking cool

I feel like pushing allowed a lot of things to happen organically as well as the push and disarm move The NPCs had a lot of habits that I wish could be added on to the new games I once had a staff at a event grab a firearm and start shooting at me even though they weren't initially armed Also how they follow blood trails and the idea of some weapons causing blood while other weapons don't brI do miss the weapon customization and the newspaper as well 47 have a more of a standard set of tools that he always brings with him such as the more useful blood money syringes, lock picks, binoculars, fiber wire, etc

Blood Money is still and probably will always be my favorite Hitman game brYeah, it's old and has some clunky mechanics, but it is still a very enjoyable game and you can get very creative with the missions I also like the overall dark atmosphere the game has and it has some of the most memorable maps in the franchise

Blood Money also has working elevators, which for a game this old is really impressive! Taking someone out with the fiber wire on top of the elevator was a really cool feature! brAlso you could customize your guns and unlock perks that suit your specific playstyle!

Blood money doesn't have that annoying detection meter, which became popular in pseudo-stealth games People should spot you instantly, if you get into their line of sight, unless it's super dark or something like that It's like NPCs in WoA have serious problems with their eyes or something
