To be fair simply supporting Apple's Immersive Video workflow would not be the best criteria to determine if a NLE is professional or not Comment from : @TechTVusa |

I just tried Final Cut Pro for the first time and it's so bad man, like beautiful, but terrible Comment from : @Ghost_Waifu |
I have friends that tell me of their struggle with DVR crashing but like it otherwise FCP has met my needs without failure for years simple, consistency works for meI don't doubt some tools are not in my tool box, but that doesn't mean others don't have their own issuesthis is a good opinion perspective and I appreciate it Comment from : @josevera8555 |

In terms of stability and performance, feel FCP is better than Davinci Comment from : @JustinSolomonEnglishMessages |
The title is very misleading I really wish YouTubers didn't feel the need to resort to hyperbole It's not like FCP is being discontinued Comment from : @trailandcrag |

1 I literally make all my vids on FCP and it's def above capcut quality 🙃 brbr2 Almost all software need plugs too run more smoothly/efficientlybrbr3 The new update was huuuge Machine learning optical flow in my eyes competes with twixtor brbrI am aware not everyone is an advanced editor, but FCP is def past capcut 🤣 Comment from : @IILebotII |

"Final Cut Pro came out 13 years ago" No Not even close Final Cut Pro ENDED with the release of Final Cut X about 13 years ago According to what I heard, that's when apple laid off all their pro-apps programmers You're referring to when they rebuilt Final Cut from scratch, named it Final Cut X (10), but it was not even qualified to be a version 1 of a new app It wasn't finished It was about 2/3 of an editing program And was certainly NO UPGRADE from Final Cut Pro 7 For the record, Final Cut Pro has been around since at least 2001 because I went to a class in NYC to learn it in December 2001 Comment from : @Robert08010 |
News flash! Looks like we might now be getting a mega update what a nice surprise Comment from : @Williamcarver |

I agree with you! 1000 Comment from : @soulbrainsbeauty |
Do they have a WYSIWYG interface yet? I find the "wired" thingies unintuitive It's like DOS for making videos Comment from : @lawrencediggs7957 |
Honestly, FCP seems like a bargain compared to Premiere or Media ComposerbrBut as soon as you are looking at Resolve, it's an entirely different story professionally speakingbrCompatible with Mac, Windows and Linux NLE, DAW, compositor/mograph and coloring tool in one and the key works with Fusion standalone as wellbrThere hasn't been much I missed from FCP after moving onbrFCP feels like a chore when doing large longformat projects Comment from : @annekedebruyn7797 |
Final Cut Pro is only good if you edit your own custom settings in Apple compressor and if you choose the best settings your HEVC export should be double the file size to show it’s been optimized There’s a YouTube tutorial on how to choose the best Apple Compressor settings if your MacBook Pro supports it Comment from : @infamous_001 |
Best thing I ever did was switching from FCP to Resolve Studio brI used FCP for more than a decade so it wasn’t an easy decision to make the transition as Resolve is very different with the node based system, but after a few weeks (and a lot of online learning) I was already feeling very comfortable and truly enjoying editing in ResolvebrResolve is just on another level in every single way for professional work, it’s absolutely amazing Honestly it’s not even comparable at this point, there’s just too much incredible tools and features in Resolve And it’s constantly evolvingbrHighly recommend Comment from : @ResizeFilms |
You might have whole week to edit a video A misleading and click bait junk video Sorry You asked for it Comment from : @SwapnilBhartiya |
FCPX is the BEST editing out there Rest everything is junk Comment from : @SwapnilBhartiya |
I use “Compressor” to work with ProRes RAW in DaVinci Resolve Studio Cheapest converter on macOS Comment from : @WilliamTurnerViolins |
You can’t legitimately say Final Cut Pro will not be a professional editing platform I’ve been using since 10 in 1999 Comment from : @walldigitalmediaonline746 |
I think the reason for using black magic isn’t that they don’t believe in their own software, It’s probably so people on windows can create video for apples spacial products (As opposed to adding final cut to windows) Comment from : @DanKapil |
I've been using FCP since 3; as quark they suddenly stopped updating so people went to premier whuch copied apple, since adobe is online people moved to davinci that copied apple toowhile I don't fancy fcpX I still use it as a mac user ! I hope apple won't ditch theitr software but from what it seems as you showned they are moving forward to use davincidamn technology Comment from : @TheMetalMag |
oh well, yessir, drop FCP and at the same time bring out the Final Cut Camera for iOS & iPadOS Klingt echt nach nem Plan Comment from : @aljen9611 |
and I am back to FCPX after 5 years in Davinci Comment from : @Robert_Kroeher |
I've felt this way a long time about FCPX and I stayed with them after FC7! For over a year they haven't made any decent upgrades and even advertise Resolve on their Mac page It's still a fast basic editor but I'd say if they are in competition with CapCut they've already lost since CapCut has far more features than FCP, or is it just FC? Comment from : @mattspadesoundandvision |
If you have a problem with ANY of Apple's products, you can simply call them There is no chatbot or email wait for responses or fixes The DaVinci Resolve people will answer the phone, but after a few minutes on the phone, they refunded my money They just don't want to bother The attitude of the Apple representatives is always positive and helpful Apple is the king of customer service They are the most successful company in the history of capitalism I'll stick with the GOAT Comment from : @CliffG |
FCP file structure and organization is a pain Comment from : @advisevo2153 |
Why do you think apple made Final Cut Pro and Apple Motion?? They’re trying to kill Adobe!!! Comment from : @GemTappX |
A couple things First, I am happy to see that Apple is partnering with Blackmagic I sincerely hope that this means we will see native support for BRAW in Final Cut soon As someone that shoots Blackmagic I have been screaming for this for yearsbrbrSecond - I do think your title is a bit misleading To state that Final Cut is "Not Pro" is just untrue I have been using it in my professional workflow for years I've produced anything from corporate video to film to television with Final Cut Pro and it has made me hundreds of thousands of dollars I've also done this without paying more than the $299 that I paid for it in 2012 Does Final Cut have issues? Yes, but so does every other system out there brbrGreat video, thanks for sharing your insight! Comment from : @michaeltowe7395 |
Fcpx is still great for pro work and i use it daily for all my client work and i work on tv shows, documentaries etc Comment from : @monumental_tv |
Funny thing is, Resolve is great for consumers too Just don't enter the fusion page or the color page Comment from : @Robert08010 |
Final Cut X was the end of Final Cut Comment from : @Robert08010 |
I wish Davinci had more effects Comment from : @spearcy |
Still doesn't change the impossible (non-usable) user interface that is davinici plug-ins fix all these issues VERY easily I WILL edit on FCPX till I stop editing decades from now Davinici is just to HARD and impossible to do any simple editing, just FAR TO CONVOLUTED, with NOTHING streamlined or easy about davinci Comment from : @RobertEddowes |
Wait… people still use a windows computer? Didn’t know people still like random crashes Comment from : @ThisIsLeeBird |
Next video: "I was wrong - Final Cut just got LIT AF!!!! 🔥" Comment from : @InvisageStudios |

How will Premiere Pro function of a Macbook 512Gb M1 of 8gb ram 4K editing A rolls or B rolls Comment from : @rahul_bhattacharyya |
I've edited multiple feature films Avid, Premiere, Resolve, and FCPXFCPX is without question far and away still my favorite editor and it's not even close Even with working with my team, granted I only have 4 employees, being an FCPX power user was always a part of my hiring process and we fly through it The fact that Will Smith and Margot Robbie's "FOCUS" as well as "Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot" and multiple other major studio films have been cut on FCPX over the past decade, this is a ridiculous take lol Comment from : @thegatewaytoprestige |
CAPCUT STILL EVEN BETTERlol Comment from : @AMPphilippines |
Editing videos with Final Cut Pro on 8G RAM ! Only Apple can do ! Ever! Besides, There is even no such basic effect like "box blur" neither in Final Cut Pro, nor in the "professional" Apple Motion ! Never ! Additionally, many of the 3rd party fonts installed in MacOS that are displayed in font book but could not be identified in Final Cut Pro/Apple motion but they are perfectly listed and working in Adobe premiere pro/ After effect, and as well perfectly in Davinci resolve ! Whatever ! Comment from : @basuotoko |

update: what are your thoughts on Premier Pro as a working tool, never mind all the Bad Press about your privacy info and what not? Reason I'm asking is due to all the new Ai tools coming out in the field of auto editing your podcast, I find Adobe Premier is ahead of the game with 3rd party developers, for this reason alone I'm sad to say that FCP will be my 2nd editing choice as I start transitioning into Premier Pro Here is another reason why I'm going all in on the adobe Eco system Adobe Audition, i thought that by using Garage Band to allow for multi track capture of my podcast microphones (3 of them) Garage Band would be a no brainier, well it turns out Yes you can accomplish the task yet you have to jump through hops and loops to do what Audition can do from the get go I will report back on my progress, lastly what is the beauty lens your using, it sure makes those skin tones look extremely cinematic, kudos and lastly do you color grade your videos on 10-Bit? I'm trying to mainstream the production part of things so I'm trying my best not to add more than I can chew on, but I really do like the look you got going take care also Guil and I thank you for your service to the community! Final cut pro came out 13 years ago??? What??? Are you sure?? Comment from : @realguitarshredder |
All Apple needs to do is buy out RotoAi, Color Finale, and a couple of other plugins You don't even have to invent anything, why can third party companies do it and they can't?))) Comment from : @daniildegtyarenko9884 |
I only use Final Cut when I record in Pro Res Raw Nice video btw Comment from : @FinanceSquared |

I don't understand your point, how on earth a NLE that lost everything it had, livetype, soundtrack, color, which in its time was at the level of what is now the resolve color page Look, FCPX was and still is, an upgrade of iMovie to this day In what world do you live in, so far, this program has never been Pro, lost that title, a long time ago They thought, that the program would become something Pro, with Motion, very complicated Comment from : @reyvaz2951 |
LMAO This guy thinks Final Cut Pro is only 13 years old Kid, I've been using Final Cut Pro since 2002 When Final Cut X came out, it lost its position as Hollywood's choice in NLVE So hearing you share your hyperbolic opinions about Final Cut Pro's future is cute Comment from : @JerridFoiles |
As I use both I must admit that I use DaVinci Resolve more Adobe Premiere is too cumbersome using technology such as rendering first which is out of the game for me Working on Apple computers only, I use anything from Final Cut 7 on my older Macs up to the latest and yes, Final Cut X has fallen behind DaVinci Resolve Comment from : @akaimagez |
its not the program its the editor Comment from : @pharoahking7502 |

Ohhhhh snap! Apple and Blackmagic have been enemies foreverSo maybe this is a first step to finally being able to edit ProRes Raw in Resolve too Converting to DNG is so bad with artifacts if trying any compression at all Comment from : @thai_le_foto |
