I have friends that tell me of their struggle with DVR crashing but like it otherwise FCP has met my needs without failure for years simple, consistency works for meI don't doubt some tools are not in my tool box, but that doesn't mean others don't have their own issuesthis is a good opinion perspective and I appreciate it

"Final Cut Pro came out 13 years ago" No Not even close Final Cut Pro ENDED with the release of Final Cut X about 13 years ago According to what I heard, that's when apple laid off all their pro-apps programmers You're referring to when they rebuilt Final Cut from scratch, named it Final Cut X (10), but it was not even qualified to be a version 1 of a new app It wasn't finished It was about 2/3 of an editing program And was certainly NO UPGRADE from Final Cut Pro 7 For the record, Final Cut Pro has been around since at least 2001 because I went to a class in NYC to learn it in December 2001

Honestly, FCP seems like a bargain compared to Premiere or Media ComposerbrBut as soon as you are looking at Resolve, it's an entirely different story professionally speakingbrCompatible with Mac, Windows and Linux NLE, DAW, compositor/mograph and coloring tool in one and the key works with Fusion standalone as wellbrThere hasn't been much I missed from FCP after moving onbrFCP feels like a chore when doing large longformat projects

Final Cut Pro is only good if you edit your own custom settings in Apple compressor and if you choose the best settings your HEVC export should be double the file size to show it’s been optimized There’s a YouTube tutorial on how to choose the best Apple Compressor settings if your MacBook Pro supports it

Best thing I ever did was switching from FCP to Resolve Studio brI used FCP for more than a decade so it wasn’t an easy decision to make the transition as Resolve is very different with the node based system, but after a few weeks (and a lot of online learning) I was already feeling very comfortable and truly enjoying editing in ResolvebrResolve is just on another level in every single way for professional work, it’s absolutely amazing Honestly it’s not even comparable at this point, there’s just too much incredible tools and features in Resolve And it’s constantly evolvingbrHighly recommend

I've been using FCP since 3; as quark they suddenly stopped updating so people went to premier whuch copied apple, since adobe is online people moved to davinci that copied apple toowhile I don't fancy fcpX I still use it as a mac user ! I've felt this way a long time about FCPX and I stayed with them after FC7! For over a year they haven't made any decent upgrades and even advertise Resolve on their Mac page It's still a fast basic editor but I'd say if they are in competition with CapCut they've already lost since CapCut has far more features than FCP, or is it just FC?

A couple things First, I am happy to see that Apple is partnering with Blackmagic I sincerely hope that this means we will see native support for BRAW in Final Cut soon As someone that shoots Blackmagic I have been screaming for this for yearsbrbrSecond - I do think your title is a bit misleading To state that Final Cut is "Not Pro" is just untrue I have been using it in my professional workflow for years I've produced anything from corporate video to film to television with Final Cut Pro and it has made me hundreds of thousands of dollars I've also done this without paying more than the $299 that I paid for it in 2012 Does Final Cut have issues? I've edited multiple feature films Avid, Premiere, Resolve, and FCPXFCPX is without question far and away still my favorite editor and it's not even close Even with working with my team, granted I only have 4 employees, being an FCPX power user was always a part of my hiring process and we fly through it The fact that Will Smith and Margot Robbie's "FOCUS" as well as "Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot" and multiple other major studio films have been cut on FCPX over the past decade, this is a ridiculous take lol

Editing videos with Final Cut Pro on 8G RAM ! Only Apple can do ! Ever! Besides, There is even no such basic effect like "box blur" neither in Final Cut Pro, nor in the "professional" Apple Motion ! Never ! Additionally, many of the 3rd party fonts installed in MacOS that are displayed in font book but could not be identified in Final Cut Pro/Apple motion but they are perfectly listed and working in Adobe premiere pro/ After effect, and as well perfectly in Davinci resolve ! I'm trying to mainstream the production part of things so I'm trying my best not to add more than I can chew on, but I really do like the look you got going take care also Guil and I thank you for your service to the community!
