Regarding hardtop convertibles - these are virtually extinct They accounted for only a small fraction of convertibles to begin with and the numbers have reduced dramatically in recent years Only the C8 and a handful of other cars are being built with this feature today Comment from : @d9103365 |

Funny you discuss the tailgate/attn part Literally every time I go out somebody in a van or truck gets about a ft off my bumper at lights, staring or smiling at you like nuts Had an idiot on a motorcycle sit about a ft off my bumper this fall at a light doing burnouts smoking up the place pretending he was touching my car laughing w his buddy like a nut, guess he wanted me to freak out but the smoke wasn't coming near me lol Not sure if it's just ego or idiots doing what they do to everyone or if they're just jealous/looking for a reaction I try to ignore them, and one other thing, everyone tries to race you, especially the young guys driving some 4 door import w 3 friends for some reason Lucky I have a 50 GT so I can get lost usually if needed, but in the end you're only racing yourself as my deceased buddy used to say 30 yrs ago when I was a speed demon 24/7 Comment from : @onceuponatimeintoronto891 |

Have a 1966 Candyapple red Mustang convertible Love it Try to leave the top down Spring to Fall Never any negativity Get thumbs up from other drivers and kids from 9 to 90 Do need a garage and another car for Winter and days you don't feel like putting the top up Spring to Fall only time the top goes up is when it needs a bath or an unscheduled shower Comment from : @rdmgwinn |
I do not follow any of these rules The car is fine I'm fine But I wish I did not buy it Less space in the trunk I almost never open the top, since at high speeds it is uncomfortable It was fun at the beginning, but now I just want a reliable car with big trunk, turbo and mpg Just like Subaru Outback Comment from : @antonlogunov1936 |

1 Need a garagebr2 Keep the car cleanbr3 Keep a cool head Don’t get bothered by other driversbr4 You must have another carbrbrAll four are correct #5: Supplies: Hair ties, hats, sweaters Put the convertible in storage in winter (or keep in garage) adjust insurance to save moneybrbrSuggestion: I don’t put up the top and lock it when parking for short times There is an alarm Plus, assume that it will rain if you leave it out for a period of time Thus, put the top up Comment from : @JohnSimpson-r5d |

I don’t necessarily agree with #4 From 1996 to 2011, I drove Sebring convertibles as daily drivers I never had an issue with vandalism I agree with your other three points I would add that you must have sunglasses and a hat I would also keep a spare hat, in case I lost my hat Comment from : @BPlank64 |
I have a 71 corvette convertible,it is everything I thought it would be,but you are right ,do not let it be a daily driver, it is so fun but needs to be protected and not a daily driver , Still a extremel car I am so proud of! Would not change a thing, it’s a exchange on excitement to boredom When I drive this car no body gets in my way and they give me a thumbs up as I go by! Comment from : @markmartin5765 |
Thank you for sharing this info Comment from : @jaswindersinghgill6426 |

Thanks, good advise! I have a low mileage 2008 Toyota Solara I absolutely love I'm retired and drive it every day but my wife has a spare car we can drive on vacation or for other uses Some days I don't have to drive it, so it works well for me leaving it in our garage I have noticed people driving in a dangerous manner around me I thought it was my imagination, but I believe not now When the temperature gets above 70 the top goes down! Comment from : @glennnorris4346 |
Agree on all points My CLK350 is for weekends does not like rain, and seagullslives in its dark garage until the sun comes out and my wife says lets go! Great car and fun but not day to day for run of the mill tasks Comment from : @JackReimer |
I agree completely One MUST have a garage and another car Comment from : @ivorwm2291 |
Another things about convertibles is how dwarfed you feel on the road when driving with the top down Especially nowadays when most Americans prefer larger Suvs and pickup trucks, everyone kind of just towers over you Comment from : @solovetsky8213 |
Any car can be stolen in 20 seconds so stealing a convertible is not any easier Most thiefs steal a car for its resale and a drop top is not the car they need Comment from : @kjss4345 |
Pretty good advice I have used three Mustang convertibles as a daily driver They had terrible traction so when I was living in Kansas City I had to sell my Mustang because it was too dangerous in the snow In general I would have to say that Mustang convertible is a good compromise between a fun car and a practical car have never had a garage Now I have a Miata convertible I keep a cover on it because I have small SUV that I use most of the time Also it has a retractable hard top so that handles some of the other issues Comment from : @robertlear2712 |
1st 2nd and 4th are pointless if you have a hard top convertible 😂😂😂 Comment from : @ChrisMc123 |

I have a convertible which I park in my driveway due to lack of room in my garage In the garage is my 911 and three motorcycles What I did to mitigate wear and tear on the convertible’s exterior is: brbr1 Full PPF (paint protection film) with self healingbr2 Ceramic coated the wheels, calipers and body of the carbr3 Coated the entire top with Carpro Fabric 20 for UV protection, repels water and stains brbrI hand wash the car with carpro products every 2 weeks as well Keeps the car looking great Comment from : @roadrash76 |
I bet these advice are good for soft top cars, hard top cars are another story, correct me if I'm wrong Comment from : @dmytrokorobko5328 |

Excellent advice Comment from : @cindyreid6404 |
I might get a reliable Toyota solars for $3000 pretty soon, and at that price I might be okay with the top being out in the weather They’re thousands of dollars cheaper than other Toyotas of the same mileage because they’re coupes and have a soft top lol I will probably keep nothing in my car too Comment from : @Dailyfiber_98 |
What about a car canopy Comment from : @cleburnecarenthusiast4870 |
Great tip about having a garage to keep the convertible inI was considering trading my hardtop coupe for its convertible counterpart before learning this Now I'll wait until I have a proper garage for storage If you're ever looking for ideas for other videos, I'd love to hear about what its like to drive a convertible on different types of roads, whether or not it gets uncomfortable with the wind, and at what speeds you have to drive at to remain comfortable Comment from : @manujadesilva22 |
Hahaha Im gonna be keeping my new daily driver, 2021 velocity blue GT convertible outside 365 days a year! Gotta love it! Comment from : @RealKato49 |
