You did a fantastic job explaining monetary history and current currency You earned a new sub It's amazing how many people don't know what real money is and isn't I would add however that SLV, even PSLV, and GLD is not really exposure to metals It's simply an ETF that goes up or down based on the paper price (which is artificial) of the metals and will NOT receive one ounce of metal upon cashing out You will simply get currency If you don't hold it, you don't own it Also, Coinbase sucks They hold your funds for 12 days before you get any of your crypo to use for paying or trading

Lately, the price of gold has been flat, while governments have been printing money like crazy So why hasn't the price of gold skyrocketed? My own guess is that people who are concerned about inflation are shifting to crypto as a store of value Gold, crypto, land, dividend-paying stocks all beat cash

Interesting and informational, other than considering Bitcoin real money It is finite but new cryptocurrencies can be easily created (let's call it Robertcoin) and marketed to ransomware criminals to boost "utility" So new supply is just as available as fiat currencies, so digital inflation can be a real issue among cryptocurrencies Besides no central bank hold cryptocurrencies, contrary to gold, silver and foreign debt
