I bought this amp - Catalyst CX 60 - recently and initially found it very non-intuitive and the foot switch limiting It is IMO, designed to be used with the app, much I guess like the Katana, although the Boss is perhaps more intuitive without having to resort to the app The Catalyst Edit app is very cool, so easy to use, and opens up all the versatility of this amp, including assigning the footswitch to multiple different functions Basically, I create my sounds using the app, save them to the patches and banks and put the app away and connect usb MIDI (M-VAVE CHOCOLATE PLUS, highly recommend) and I’m off to the races! Really great amp at any price point and I’m looking to get the 200 soon

Very good demo Cheers I adore all of my Line 6 stuff, from POD 10 to Helix and my DuoVerb amp (remember those?) Hope to never have to part with of ANY of them because they are all still working beautifully … along with their various floorboards, including the xt3/LIVE Yes, it took me awhile to acquire them … but God is good and I have a sweet, loving wife Slainte 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸 br🎸👨‍⚕️🫶✌️♾️💟

I know this review is going on 3 years old, and I don't know if you get notifications on old videos considering the number that you do, but I am between the Catalyst 60 and Katana 50 EX for a full size speaker combo that can pull off both electric and acoustic sounds I saw that you were using the PRS SE Piezo but you did not play the piezo through the clean channel I have a PRS P22 and I currently play it through a Positive Grid Live, but it would be nice to have a separate dedicated amp with a 12" speaker to play into it and to also use with it for both acoustic and electric sounds Have you played your PRS Piezo through this amp and how would you say it compares to the dedicated acoustic channel on the KatanabrThanks

If you REALLY want to see what an amp is capable of, you should use a cheap guitar like that Glarry you reviewed to give a worst-case scenario because ANYTHING is going to sound good with something like a PRS, Fender, Godin, Gibson, Ibanez, Jackson, etcbrbrI just picked up a brand-new Line 6 Catalyst 200 (the 2×12" BEAST) on clearance for $250CAD That was a no-brainer I just wish that you talked a bit more about the 200 I can tell you that it's about as light as a boulder and just as awkward when climbing stairs with its twin 12" speakers and heavy 200W amp

holding reverb button down and turning the knob past 12 oclock puts it post amp and turned before 12 puts reverb in front of amp Holding boost button down , you have a noise gate , again using the knob

Yes, usually I'm an analog guy, but I would lie if I would not admit that I almost choked as I heard Zhe crystal clear, brilliant and beautiful clean and boutique sound I have the catalyst 100 now And hey 🤷 if it's the sound you want? Who cares if it's digital? Even though I'm a very sentimental vintage fellow ☺️🙃 love that darn tbing

If you wanna play hard rock/metal with a drummer and a bass player you're gonna need at least 100 watts If you're the only guitar player a 100 watt combo will work fine, but a lot of players are gonna show up with 4 x 12 cabinets and 100 watt heads, and a combo will just not compete with that for the most part

Got the 60w at GC used for 199 Its really a nice sounding box I have a Fender TMP going into the effects return The Speaker and AMP SOUND GOOD Sending the guitar input to my HR FR 108 Doesnt degrade Basically the same as going from TMP to the 108s brThat's a nice feature for recoding the analog signal The built-in effects are ok but lacking in stacking The Katana has that beat I would have to put them side by side but I think the Catalyst sounds better by a small margin brFor size and features It is a winner for shure

Sounds like the Catalyst is an affordable set and forget clean/crunch small gigging amp The addition of a pedal board could bring this thing more to life

Line 6 dropped the ball on the Catalyst series Look at all the big price drops these days ! Only 1 effect to change, how stupid and short-sighted of line 6, if you want to compete in the Boss Katana arena I would be happy to pay € 100 extra if they just put the guts of the Helix Pod Go in this amp, including the lcd screen, and make it fully compatible with their FBV 3 for people who like to use that That would have been a lot more successful, in my opinion

I’ve owned a Katana 212 for a few months and there’s just something about that doesn’t click with me I think it’s cool what can be done with Tone Studio, and I can dial in some pretty good sounds, but it all seems to take too much work for the end result The UI of Tone Studio is awful, and makes patch editing slightly unpleasant at best I don’t like that you have basically no idea what the effects knobs are set to without the computer attached, and as cool as the configurability is, the poor interface makes it all feel overwhelmingbrbrI ended up picking up a Line 6 Pod and I’m just loving it The sounds are top notch, and the patch editing interface is totally intuitive and a breeze to use brbrSo, unhappy with the Katana, I ordered a Line 6 Catalyst I think the sounds and simplicity will appeal to me; and if I need more in the way of effects, I can also run it through my Pod Go using the FX loopbrbrThe Katana is great but Boss really needs to work on the UI Like, seriously …

Did you actually just test out a Line 6 amp without testing out the hi gain settings? That's a pretty essential part of the amplifier, I'd think I don't really have an idea on whether or not this amp is any good for me at this point

I had one for 2 weeks before I sent it back, I thought it had some great tones but after playing for a bit I couldn’t get used to the strange upper mid range , couldn’t dial it out so it was disappointing

As a gigging musician, I use the 60 watt on clean with no effects as a pedalplatform for rehearsal and on stage through the PA Hardly use my tube amps anymore It's light, silent, affordable and you can throw it around It's perfect
