I have a girlfriend I met two years ago, never met in person, i am in Michigan and she’s in Florida, we plan to move to Hawaii, and have plans for marriage, children, pets, and to share a home But we also have set times FOR the marriage, and for the children, but I don’t know how well get the starting finances, and if we should move in together before moving, but that may delay marriage and children? My husband is frugal, and I love it but sometimes he’s more cheap than frugal ! Or penny wise and pound stupid haha For example, picking something because it’s the cheapest option, even if it’s not the best choice in the long run However, I was the opposite I grew up with parents who sucked at saving money and buy whatever they want if they could afford to Meanwhile, my husband grew up with parents who pinched every penny I don’t think I was ever as bad as my parents with money, but I still bought a lot of things I didn’t need, especially after getting my first full time job brbrWe’ve been together for almost 10 years now (3 of those married) and I’ve seen us both changing a little over time to be a little more flexible and healthy with our spending! He’s willing to invest more in quality when it’s worth it, and I got better at stepping back and evaluating if I REALLY need something or not before buying it Our # of disagreements about money per month are pretty low now
