feeling very lucky to run into this video a day after getting closure on an awful breakup we were codependent with each other, he was insecure, and i was controlling and verbally abusive after 2 years of putting him through hell he told me hes not upset with me and wishes me the best, and that with enough time apart to grow and heal we could be friends i respect him enough now that i am willing to let him go and become our best individual selves we had a long phone call yesterday and his feedback was nurturing i hope we can be together again someday but even if not i am so proud of him for standing up to me i love you, nat

I have a relationship some would consider a small amount of time or large amount of time 5 years Some things were done that would cause a break in relationship but instead of giving up We tried again and worked to build trust while allowing forgiveness It's hard, but it's worth it I dont see this person as a perfect person anymore I see them as grey, with flaws, and I accept that In my opinion, long-term relationships and the love involved is a choice At some point, i believe the feeling of love disappears or is not noticable, it changes and becomes a choice to love someone You have to continue to work on each other Just like what you agree to before getting married, "for better of worse, you will love each other" In my opinion,"for better or worse, you will choose to love this person forever," is much better Im still fairly young, so i have much more to learn, but it's what i learned so far Learn to forgive and choose to love

I have had some really bad relationships and I have a lot of good ones The ones who put you down and insult you acting like they're giving you constructive criticism and trying to help you can be deceiving but remember to let go of these people and protect yourself because you don't deserve it You can ask everybody you have good relationships with and they'll tell you are a great person and you deserve respect These are the ones who give you constructive criticism and respectfully correct you and help you to live a good life which you will And you'll get the pleasure doing that for them too and it'll build your self esteem and self love, care, and respect and sense of self worth

Really highlights the differences among my most major relationships over the span of about 20 years The first was all rupture and very little repair, endless fighting, passive aggression, public shaming/derision, etc The second was completely bereft of rupture because both of us were too avoidant to even address our issues and settled into a semi-comfortable rut until it drove me into therapy because I felt terrible every day and didn’t know why brbrMy current relationship has a reasonable cycle of rupture and repair after I’ve finally learned that ruptures aren’t the end of the world and that we’re both adult enough to resolve them peacefully Now that I see them as opportunities to understand each other better and become closer, I don’t avoid them like I used to And sure enough, every time we repair, I feel more satisfaction with our relationship and more trust for my partner

This is a very mature and insightful video that advocates for taking an empathetic approach to conflict resolution It’s easy to cut people off when they don’t live up to our expectations, and much harder to put in the work, heal and rebuild But relationships that do the work of restoring trust, understanding each other and “repairing” often turn out to be strongest of relationships Of course, all parties involved must decide if they think the relationship is worth restoring in the first place

Thank you from the bottom of my soul for the video I am going through a moment of finally repairing myself and my relationship , these last few weeks I realized that I hurt my partner so much with things that I had not even thought about in years and that caused a huge invisible rupture between us I still have a lot to learn and to teach too, but although those moments of rupture are ugly and seen as impossible to overcome, they are 100 necessary, otherwise the relationship never advances, it never matures and it remains there like a fragile vessel that looks perfect from the outside at any moment can fall and break into 1000 pieces and never could be repaired again
