I’ve written off a few friends bcs of minor behaviors that bother me Two times it’s been bcs a person talks incessantly about themselves and I can’t get a word in edgewise Should I be telling them this instead of just fading away or ghosting them? What’s a kind way to fade out of a friendship OR what’s a good way to lovingly tell a person that their communication style is off-putting to me (and probably to others)? Comment from : @yvonnerenoult1819 |

Everytime I set it up on my time instead if their demanded time, it always goes back to I'm not cooperating and they are the victim I am forced to work with this person and that person is succeeding while I suffer They must be a sociopath Comment from : @tacohiker |

When it's a person with a toxic personality, don't tell them that what they say upsets you brThat is food for their ego, and data gathering to use against you againbrThe pause, and saying I need time, I don't have time for this right now or I'm not ready is betterbrSets your boundaries without adding to their data set against youbrThanks Jefferson! Totally agree with this! Emotional intelligence really is the key to smoother communication I used to get super defensive in tense conversations, but learning to pause and say 'I need a moment' made a huge difference
br
brI also joined the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x, which helped me realize that humor can be an effective tool to diffuse tension—if the timing’s right Often, we’re afraid our humor won’t land, but it’s about connecting, not proving a point Comment from : @Jedi_Master_Krish |

Thank you! Helpful advice even in the family dynamic situation When my father was in his last hours, my sister was alienating all of us, triggering unnecessary negative emotions at a time we should have been supporting each other It made everything worse I ended up yelling back, which in hindsight was not appropriate I should have taken that moment and stepped back There is still an unspoken tension to this day Comment from : @jodieb3871 |

You have been very helpful, Jefferson My bottom is when individuals mislead me or tell me a lie brIn my business, I deal with tax law and the actual facts of the issue A third party who does not answer the client's questions fully may mislead the clientbrWhen it comes to the IRS, transparency is critical They place the burden of proof on you, and any misrepresentation can lead to severe consequences In a recent case, a third party misled a client by claiming the IRS was entirely wrong without providing any evidence to support their claim This left me in the unenviable position of having to prove the truth I was misled by the client and the third party Some of my emotions are very high, and I would like to let them have it This will not be good for either party I learned from this to put only a position once I have all the facts Thank you again for this video Comment from : @raulpendas |

Hello Jefferson, thanks for all these great tips! I appreciate how you break everything down I do know the explanation about why we say don’t let them get your goat Racehorses travel from barn to barn and they have a companion goat that goes with them to keep them calm and relaxed If you want a racehorse to not do well the next day, you steal their goat to make them nervous Hence the phrase get their goat Have a good day! Wow, Jefferson,brIn all the uncountable videos I have watched about grounding and emotional intelligence when contending with unstable loved ones, never once was it clarified to mean it is all about your own personal emotions introspectively; I always thought it meant how to navigate and handle the emotional inventory of the person you are trying to reason with when they refuse to reason on logic or facts!brSo enlightening!brI am seriously and repetitively listening thru all your videos to sound this your valuable insights down deep so I can use these as tools successfully and with precisionbrSo grateful for your content Comment from : @nakiazagorski5361 |
