Hate when people say “don’t do it for the money do it because you love it” There isn’t enough love in America to choose a profession like philosophy and struggle financially People that don’t make money or they have access to excess use this excuse I’ve heard 2 people give that advice in one day; Elon Musk and the homeless man around the corner One is filthy rich who literally does it for the money and the other is homeless telling you not to worry about money In the US loans are a REAL thing You’d be a fool to study for 10 years and end up making 40K a year Comment from : @TheRealSeeJ |
Thank you so much for this, this potentially saved me a lot of money and time I hope you have a lot of fun in your work It can be a thankless job But keep up the great work ❤ Comment from : @raisklose6785 |

Psychology is worst thing ever invented, becouse it serves as tool for new modern inqusitionWhen you enter in psycologysts office,it won't be becouse you have decided to do itBut becouse, someone has send you there, against yours willAnd once you enter in psycologysts office,he will begun his "terapy" with dirty unetical questionsHe will ask many questions,in order to portrait you as deluded antisocial individualAnd they are doing this to people, who are uneployed for 28 yearsAnd to people, who are oponents to catholic conservative far rightAnd here is the hipocritical part of psychologyWe the comon people, are exposed to harmfull influence of catholic conservative far right, for last 33 yearsWe have noticed theys lies, theys warmongering, theys fearmongering, theys nepotism, theys corruption, and other unetical crimesAnd with catholic conservative far right,we have experienced, disgust to theirs statements, distrust to theirs members, and fear from theirs fanatical mindless followersAnd in order to heal yours mental health, you and real psycologysts, must remove source of yours suffering, from yours lifeWich are catholic conservative far right, that has created numerous stressful problems to it's own peopleAnd not to use dirty mental tricks on people, with wich they will try to convince youThat it's all just in yours head, and that you have "missinterpeted" something, and make yours self look like "paranoid deluded antisocial individual"But don't worry, they won't write bad things about nuns, who belives in inmaginary jesusOr about someone, who is from favorable social classThey will write lies just about us inteligent people, who has refused to go along with derangement of the catholic conservative far right belives, and disturbing plans Comment from : @JasminM-hz5ty |

Psychology is just waaay to overrated in this day and age It has become the religion of a secular world It certainly has its place, but is has way too much swing Comment from : @csillagfenynet |
I was considering a career in psychology (and I still am), but instead of being a realistic eye-opening video about the challenges of the professional, it felt more like an attack and very extremist perspective Not a light video to watch, I think it is obvious that you should at least enjoy talking to people if you want to be a psychologist, kind of obvious (also, the title "If you hate people" - extremist) Sitting in a chair all day, having to be organized, being good emotionally, these are aspects most jobs have I just don't think I agree with the approach of this video, sounds more like a clickbait Comment from : @GabrielaGosztonyi |

Comment from : @ellieotoole332 |
I'm still looking into career paths as an undergrad in psychology with a heavy emphasis on clinical psych I thought this video might shy me away but it's only made me want to do clinical psych more I'm a private swim instructor so my job is pretty much structured the same way kinda makes me feel like I was born to do this Comment from : @maayansoudry |

Great video! As a psychologist myself with >10 years experience in clinical work, I can totally relate to it In the Netherlands ‘outdoor psychology’ is rising, which might tackle the sedentary part We have some really good experience with giving treatments while walking outdoors Also there is scientific proof for the benefits of it There is even a way to do EMDR outside Being outside makes it also less intense for yourself as therapist to give treatment You might want to look it up! Comment from : @SuzysCraftery |

I'm still in 8th grade and I was thinking of studying phycology when I grow up a couple more years, I want to understand people more, read people, and understand myself and the human mind, there are so many things I want to know, like what's going on inside that girls head or what is she feeling, I always put myself in peoples places to understand them more, I'm the therapist friend everyone vents to me, but like I don't know what to do, I want to know what to do when someone talks or rants to me, I want to learn and study, but I don't know I don't like studying but I have a huge interest in phycology that I want study it, but I don't wanna work as a phycologist, I just wanna study it, I don't know 😭 Comment from : @SKYBLUE_2011 |

I'm going to graduate as grade a 10 this school year and I'm thankful that this video confirmed that becoming a psychologist needs to be competitive, being well and not to be sensitive 'cuz I read an article about being psychologist and this 3 things being said 🙃🥲 and yep psychologist is not for me 🥲 thanks for this video! Comment from : @graydalander9566 |
Well, if I could do things over, I would never have pursued a degree in psychology In a nutshell, psychology simply doesn't work very well I've found it to be an inferior and secular substitute for the soul healing benefits one can get from a relationship with Jesus Psychology did not bring me the relief I needed from bad depression; self-deliverance in Jesus' name did Praise Jesus! Comment from : @AI-ch3if |
I'm only 15 years old But I realy want be a counseling phychologist But listening to these things now I'm a little afraid of being a phychologist But I realy love being one I want heal people by talking with them But I'm not a study girl honestly But i wil study to achive my dream But i don't feel like studing after that also In my job era too So u think i should not do this job? |

I think that the first basic reason to study psychology and to be interested in it to practice, is to meet the needs of some specific people in need of psychological enhancement brbrAll these points are included, but if I focus on that, I would give up on a major aspect of impacting greatness into humanity brbrGod help us Comment from : @BusolaBeckley |
As an infj, i think the negatives are not that negative to become a clinical psychologist Comment from : @NandanaShaji-gh7pc |

American PhD clinical psychologist of nearly 20 years here Good video! brI dissuade most from a career in psychology Lots of ways to help people in your spare time or through other fields The money for the years of training is abysmal Do not take student loans to pursue this degree, especially psyd You will never catch up unless you have family money or a partner to help Psychology is fascinating Take the classes but don’t major in it Find another career! Comment from : @Rascal8372 |
What are other ways that you can help people with mental health? Comment from : @filipnede1954 |

1 moneybr2 competitionbr3 if you're unwellbr4 busy schedulebr5 isolationbr6 having to study your whole lifebr7 if you hate peoplebr8 sedentarybr9 too much organizationbr10 if you're too sensitive Comment from : @payalive |
I would say the most important reason you can pull this off is that you are an INFJ and because your cognitive functions are ordered in a way that enables you to connect with people in one on one or small group settings and to really recognize patterns to help them, obviously combined with your study/research in school Basically if you were an ESTJ for example I would say it's way less likely this would be the job for you Competitive and low pay has more to do with the economy and other stupid games we all must play and I think there are plenty of people who could go to less prestigious schools or come into the game late and outperform others who at least on paper appear to be better Anyway I think it's good we have you, I don't think there will be any problem with you continuing to learn your dominant function literally craves it, and I'm sure you will find ways to help your patients that are creative and provide results Comment from : @mws12345 |
I'm American so it's interesting to learn about the field in other countries! Comment from : @theunrulyjoyclub |

Reason 11: sometimes it’s scary and we have a risk of being traumatised ourselves! as psychologists we are often responsible for monitoring risks of suicide, child protection issues, self harm, starvation, and abuse All whilst continuing to competently complete all of the other aspects listed in this video Comment from : @jillianhely7090 |

thank you so much for making this video you did a good job of addressing the struggles in a way that's not just bringing people down and telling them to pack up and abandon all hope I wanted to make sure I know what I'm getting myself into, and all the other videos I saw kind of brought me down however, I realized they seemed to be just based on the person's personal experience and they were saying stuff that didn't really apply to me, so I'm glad I found this one I feel much more prepared and inspired, I think this is something I can really do Comment from : @SquirmyWormy7-14 |
Thank you, I think I was idealising working as a therapist I realised that it’s not for me, first of all I get easily overwhelmed by people’s emotions and I am not that into studying and doing reports Comment from : @saltandsassy |
