@curtisivey273
I used Monstrum 1-4 and 1-6 when I first got into 3 gun, 6-24 on my ruger precision 22mag for varmint hunting The battery compartment on the 1-4 came off from the recoil on my ar10 (after 15yr of 3 gun abuse), the scope still operated fine I contacted the them, they sent me a new scope after a few messages back and forth I bought a vortex 1-8 for my ar10 Installed the new monstrum on one of my Ar15s, glued the battery compartment back on the broken scope and installed it on my 9mm pcc It still works, still functions, still holds zero, all my other monstrum scopes have held up fine for years IMHO monstrum scopes are the best budget scope out there brbrPS Also keep in mind the scope the scope broke after 15yr of abuse from 3 gun, we bang our rifles around, we (literally) throw our guns into barrels or slam them against things
Comment from : @curtisivey273

Comment from : @spooninmycereal23

@TeranRealtor
You said something that I think a lot of people have not realized Some gun owners say to spend on your optic, the same as on your rifle brBut you explained that electronics prices and technology have come a long way I just built my first rifle this year - never owned a rifle before Was told to spend about $400 on a red dot - but found a Sig Romeo 5 for about $120 - and when I showed it to my "experienced" friend, he could not believe the quality of itbrI want to put an LPVO on the other rifle I built and your video just gave me hope that I won't have to spend $300 on that either!
Comment from : @TeranRealtor

@kaomatic
with enough time training behind the trigger, you can out shoot anyone even if you’re using a cheap amazon optic slapped on an anderson lower 😂

Comment from : @waynebattersby9461

@thebestofjfraley
Man, Thank you for the info! I've been shopping around for optics for my AR and what I've been looking at is in the price range of 2100 to 3100 bucks! I was thinking my blind ass was just gonna have to shoot at the fat ones THE BIG FAT ONES!! I had every incling that paying for good optics was gonna cost me a morgadge and a marriage! This changes everything Now I can go to WalMart and buy her a 150 dolla ring and she'll up my allowance :D
Comment from : @thebestofjfraley

@thriftysurvivor6117
I'm not at all surprised at your choices here I'm familiar with both of these brands and own several Leapers UTG scopes and red dots I also own some higher end stuff, but I can tell you that UTG puts their gear through some very impressive torture tests when designing their optics If you know anything about spring piston powered air rifles, you probably know that they are known to be scope killers They have what's known as a double recoil which punishes scopes more than most high powered center fire rifles do I have scopes on my high powered rifles that wouldn't hold up on this type of air rifle Mine is also an ultra magnum spring piston air rifle You can humanely hunt coyote with it All that to say that I have a UTG scope mounted on it and it's works flawlessly It holds zero even with the scope killing type of recoil exhibited by this type of gun I have shot sub 1/4" groups at 50 yards with it, I've hit flies at up to 50 yards, all with this scope mounted on this spring piston air rifle By the way, so far it's flies zero, UTG scope 100, but I digress brbrbrI really enjoyed your video One thing I really like about your videos is even though you own some high end gear, you're not a gear snob There are also some out there who can't honestly give accurate comparisons of how well budget gear compares to high end gear since all they've ever tried is budget gear All I'm saying here is there are also plenty of budget gear snobs out there as well Some of them will make false statements just to justify why they're using budget, or even cheap gear, and as you pointed out, there is a difference Some budget gear is extremely high value, and some is junk This makes the point that those who are on a budget should do their research, and take advice from those who have experience with gear from both ends of the spectrum brbrbrSorry about the long comment here, but the points I made here are the very reasons I love your channelbrKeep up the good work
Comment from : @thriftysurvivor6117

Comment from : @majormojo9830

@ChristiannTyler
Great list, for anyone optic shopping make sure the reticle is right for you, from my experience I don’t think FFP is worth it you’ll find yourself maxed out when shooting far enough to use the features anyway
Comment from : @ChristiannTyler

@bigotonbrand
Just like in photography, spend the money on glass and not the body (firearm in this case)
Comment from : @bigotonbrand

@stephensano9156
Thank you! Just what I needed!
Comment from : @stephensano9156

@rikpontician8499
I grew up on iron sights while in the military and at home with cheap scopes I personally never really thought much about optics and although I understand their importance I never gave it a top priority and thus don't like to spend my money on them when I can buy more ammo Anyway, this is why I love this video, it is right up my alley Thanks so much for spending the time
Comment from : @rikpontician8499

@DHFHades
just once I wish a company would make one of these in OD green

@piplup10203854
I recently picked up a 308 and was looking into under 100 optics as my honest budget is very very low but I am looking forward to getting into long range shooting but I spent a year saving money for the 308 so I am kinda hoping to get up and going in a couple months so I appreciate this a lot
Comment from : @piplup10203854

Comment from : @kjosephjoseph2359

@DrTech-pw2cu
Most illuminated scopes I have seen under $100 will glare and into your eye, So I would rather have non-illuminated brIf you are shooting at distances under 100 yards I don't think it makes a whole Lott of difference but I have seen cheap scopes that will not return to zero and mounts that don't stay tight and don't repeat to the same position
Comment from : @DrTech-pw2cu

@geraldkoth654
The regular red dots do not work if you have astigmatism I discovered that as my eyes aged So I got the Monstrum Prism scopes for 3 of my rifles Great product Prism scopes work with an astigmatism
Comment from : @geraldkoth654

@prtrpr82
This is the information I was looking for This will definitely help me find a decent scope on a tight budget Thank you
Comment from : @prtrpr82

@arjayanacan3266
I have tried to buy in amazon a trijicon acog but so sad amazon do not ship here in the Philippines with that kind of item, I wish someone can help me get that kind of scope, even if it is second hand
Comment from : @arjayanacan3266

@jimmybare3026
I purchased a Leupold scope about a month ago for under $200 3 by 9 lifetime warranty that's better than a Leopold I bought 15 years ago and paid $400 for When I say better I mean brighter I also have a monstrum I purchased approximately 3 years ago 1 by 6 lighted reticle absolutely no problems with it The Leupold does have slightly better eye relief and the sight picture is larger looking inside the scope At $199 it's still over 2 times what I paid for the monstrum and it doesn't have lighted reticle you can switch from green to red There's some trade-off back and forth between the two They're both handsome scopes Have to say this video is spot-on you can get a lot more scope for the money these days
Comment from : @jimmybare3026

@wendellsawyer4386
Recommend Bushnell AR optics
Comment from : @wendellsawyer4386

@wendellsawyer4386
Yeah, Im pretty much an optics snob, but I have to say UTG has been putting out some good stuff Their RMR mounts are solid, as well as their bipods (though they need some help to solidify them)
Comment from : @wendellsawyer4386

@harryhuang1439
I guess the price tag will be gone once Trump's policy coming to enforce too?
Comment from : @harryhuang1439

@jasonzee4561
I need a red dot to kill chipmunks
Comment from : @jasonzee4561

@Fister_of_Muppets
I agree whole-heartedly with the $50-$100 range being 4 steps ahead of the $1-$50 range I would also add that Discovery Optics, Bushnell, and some others have some very solid scopes in the sub-$100 range
Comment from : @Fister_of_Muppets

@lillcaveman7375
Wtf all u talked about is one optic wtf the title says optics
Comment from : @lillcaveman7375
