wondering how these NA tires compare to EU versions? WRG4 vs Snowproof 2, One vs Seasonproof? Comment from : @JernejBu |
I prefer to see the tests in a normal Hilux, it's much more relatable than seeing some 6 litre super truck being thrown around the track Comment from : @henryletton7489 |
When I watch people who do deep snow off road wheeling, like Bruce Cook, they all seem to use a very wide open treaded tire, more like the Outpost nAT instead of a dedicated snow tire Believing that those folks know what they are doing, how deep does the snow need to be before the dedicated snow tire becomes less effective than an open treaded tire? I understand that they air down to some crazy number like 5 psi, but that could be done with a snow tire So that shouldn’t be a factor Not sure what I missing between your testing and that of these experienced snow wheelers That would be an interesting test (snow depth vs tire), if it could be done Comment from : @Eddie07S |
In snow all is clearbut what about wet conditions between 0 and 5celsius? Comment from : @Kongguderod |
I would love to see testing of the wild peak at4, Nokian nAT, and the KO3 best on a Rivian R1T for what most of us drive, ski trips, brsome off road for getting some place like whitewater kayaking and varied pavement conditions that we usually drivebrRolling resistance Comment from : @FOX4369 |

I remmber looking at the Nokian One a while back and seeing it marketed as an All-Weather tire, which was the first I had heard of the category I was unable to get a set at the time, as the tread warranty of my old tires only allowed replacement with the same crappy tires, 24k miles when the warranty is 50k My question is, did the Nokian One start as an All-weather and get downgraded to All-Season? Comment from : @javaman2883 |

As always this is great stuff I am in Eastern Canada so winter is a thing, but having said that the highways are always bare (albeit often cold) within 24 hours of a snowfall Being retired about the only snow and ice I really encounter is a little bit around town, but all my highway driving is on bare pave (wet or dry) Also I often travel to warmer climates in the winter, so for those reasons I do not use a full winter tire on my truck (I used to in the past when working and not having the luxury of just not travelling on crappy weather days ) Currently I have Toyo AT3 and it does the job, however for my next set I am at a toss up between Nokian Outpost nAT, or something like the Michelin Agilis Cross Climate, or perhaps even the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 I really do not do any off road, and I do a lot of towing my travel trailer (fully half the kms on my truck have the trailer attached) I know the Defender LTX does not have 3PMSF but it seems it is just as capable as many tires that do Would love to see a test that incorporated these three very different tires in some way This test was close Keep up the great work Comment from : @ShawnPatterson402 |
I'd buy Nokian if anyone within a 200 mile radius sold them here in Wisconsin Comment from : @mitral5333 |
How do they perform in the mud? Comment from : @brianmadlock8385 |
Thank you! Comment from : @AnnAndNala |
How is the Nokian Oupost in terms of on road comfort / compliance over bumps vs other AT tires like the Falken AT4W — if you’re comparing both in an LT metric Comment from : @TacoRancher |
I ran Nokian Rotiiva year round for 3 years on my Honda Element upstate NY working in utility scale solar- rocks, mud, snow Love them so I will be getting NAT's this Spring to replace them Thanks! Great video Comment from : @vincentcolletti7664 |
It would be nice to visually combine the tire name and type It's a bit confusing to know which tire is what Thank you! Comment from : @acoast84 |

I’d love to see the nAT go up against the MT Baja Boss AT The Boss AT has been the best for Idaho Snow/Ice Comment from : @tyson1432 |
How does the Nokian Outpost nAT compare to the General Grabber ATX in general and particularly in snow/winter conditions? Thank you! Comment from : @absolutefreedom |
How beastly are the Outpost NAT's constructed? LT E rating required for airing down offroad? Comment from : @siebitup |
We got the Nokian Outpost nAT tires for our RAM 4x4 57 eTorque hemi and are very pleased We live in Colorado with a good bit of snow at higher elevation The nAT tires are nearly as quiet as the Eagle Tourings we replaced, handling is great, and the fuel mileage is nearly the same (maybe lost 1mpg) But the most impressive thing is the surefootedness of these tires in the snow We are very please with the snow traction as t is much better than the AT tires we've had in the past Comment from : @mtjag3138 |
Nice I have the Nokian Tyres One on my Camry but I live in coastal SC, minimal snow area I got my niece who lives in Colorado a set of Nokian WR G4 tires though for her Honda Accord Comment from : @EscapeVelo |
Best tires made! Comment from : @jensenwilliam5434 |
Nokian WRG5 or Michelin Cross Climate 2? Which do you all prefer? Comment from : @SharingAccount-lw9gw |
If you need a Wrangler to test things, let me know We have Hakka LT3s for the winter and I am thinking about on replacing our aging STTPro summer tires with the Outpost nAT for summer trips and want to know how well they will handle rocks I hope that being a LR F2 in 35x125/17 with the aramid sidewall they are pretty resilient Comment from : @jefferyengelhardt5266 |
Need to compare the Nokian One to other AS tires in the same sort of testing Comment from : @beardumaw24 |
In Canada, an all weather tire is significantly better than an all season in my opinion brWe have Nokian WRG4 on our SUV We ski and live on the mountain but in the Vancouver area, snow on the mountain is rain on the Hwy Comment from : @ShawnPerepelytz |
Amazing comparison!!! Which tire do you recommend for a GMC YUKON XL SLT in Park City and Salt Lake City in the winter? I will be going back and forth between those two places Comment from : @elitemarketerclub |
Shanahan Street Comment from : @BobBeacher-q1b |
Thank you for this review I live in the Colorado mountains with plenty of snow and have been debating between the Falken AT4W and the Nokian Outpost nAT My Ram runs the 285/45/22 so I was concerned initially about the sidewalls since we do use this vehicle to tow a camper, but the blowout-resistant Aramid fibers in the sidewalls seems to be fairly strong without the added weight of the 3ply on the Falken tires My wife runs the Hakkapeliittas on her Subaru and those things are incredible But just in your view, do you think the Outpost nAT will be ok for towing with the low profile tire and as good in the snow as the much heavier Falken AT4W? Comment from : @mtjag3138 |
Test against kumhoAT52 Comment from : @TheSlugger76 |
I would be grateful if you included the Nokian Outpost APT tire in the following tests This tire is very mysterious, there is practically no information about it Is it really not worthy of any attention? The appearance and price are beautiful I would like to know how it actually behaves during tests Comment from : @artembagdasaryan3516 |
I didn't expect for you to live in Utah Comment from : @otterconnor942 |
Do you know that nobody bring the outpost all terrain into Australia 🇦🇺 Comment from : @davideddy2321 |
I has a set of the original Outpost ATs on a 2018 Silverado I live in Kansas so i will say i have never owned a set of dedicated winter tires However, they were phenomenal in all the conditions we get around here Easily my favorite of all the ATs i have had over the years Also, amazingly quiet on the highway for as aggressive as they are I had about 45k miles on them when i got rid of the truck and they were all still over 60 tread I recommend them to everyone and will definitely be buying them again for my new ride Comment from : @243bmk |
Great vid thank you The confirmation of the snow tire’s performance over all others good to see A 5 meter braking distance advantage is very significant Comment from : @James-kd2cm |
Do the Nokian Hakkas LT3s do well in wet weather and slush? Comment from : @MegaHops1 |
I got just over 50,000 MILES out of my Nokian ONE They've worn evenly and held up well in 4 seasons, with no issues, even held their air in between tire rotations - never had to add any air Well short of the tread warranty, but I think I will get them again They have not been amazing in the snow, but they did perform better than the Pirelli Scorpion Winter tires they replaced in the middle of winter in 2022 And the Nokian ONE have been outstanding in wet weather Comment from : @barfo281 |
copy paste response from Nokian Shocking Comment from : @monsaka7827 |

I've run all weather AT tires for the last few years and I find that in Calgary AB Canada which gets lots of chinooks they work fine Not as good as dedicated winter with studs by any means, but I can drive confidently when it dumps snow Comment from : @andrewward4246 |

Well the Nokian Outpost doesn't look like it is made with snow performance in mind by looking at the sipes it has, there are AT tyres which look like they would do much better in snow ex: like the Cooper AT 4S, Vredestein Pinza AT, General Grabber AP3 Comment from : @ghp0518 |
Why don't anybody compare Nokian WRG4 with other all weather tires? Are they any good comparing to Michelin Crossclimate 2? Comment from : @utkirahmedov8329 |

I live in Washington state, and when it snows it turns to slushy wet snow with ice underneath you should do reviews for tires that are run in those conditions not just hard packed snow Comment from : @rich6913 |
What is the difference between the G4 "SUV" vs G4? I have a 2023 Mazda CX 5, P225/65R17 I live out in Colorado and am prioritizing an all-weather tire that performs well in snow conditions Should I be looking at getting the G4 SUV? Comment from : @ssummersquared |
A test of the European Nokian Snowproof line up would be greatly appreciated Comment from : @mufflejoy |

What’s the best tire pressure for driving in various kind of snow or ice? Everybody says to keep the same as summer tires but I’m prone to think that deflating the tire like when off-roading or sand driving improves footprint and traction What’s the truth? Comment from : @LeoGS400 |
Any word on wrg5? Can't find a single review on it Usually enjoy wrg4 for my uses Comment from : @rjkral |

This is my first season having an AT tire on my vehicle I have BFGoodrich AT KO3's I also have a set of blizzaks, Im going to go through the first big storm to decide if Im going to switch because even just a dusting, I was reasonably impressed with the KO3s snow performance Comment from : @salvadorebertolone |
Over a year ago I bought the previous Nokian Outpost AT's in LT for my '07 Land Cruiser that I take from San Diego to ski at Mammoth or Salt Lake City around 30 days per year I'm satisfied as they're better in deep snow and much better for road noise compared to other AT's out there That said, having had and been thoroughly pleased with Hakkas as my winter set for Audis in the past when I lived in colder temps, the Outpost AT's are definitely not as optimal (but what is - studs!) on icy roads as the Hakkas And I do notice a bit of a tendency to hydroplane in deep rain situations, which makes complete sense when looking at the tread patterns that you showed in your vid brbrGreat review! I'd love to see you do a review too of the new nAT's vs the prior AT's, if possible Comment from : @TroyHarlan |
Another great video❤ Comment from : @iminkindergarten |
How is the Alpin 5 SUV??? Comment from : @drewyager4020 |

What is your opinion on Dunlop Winter Sport tires? Comment from : @DJvanRooij |
interesting findings, i currently have a set of goodyear wrangler duratracs on my truck and the snowfall last week had me worried despite the 3-peak rating and i was pleasantly surprised when it took quite a bit of effort to break grip on the drive home it would be a great study to see how other brands would compare as you mentioned Comment from : @austin3072 |
Looking forward to more nAT test results They are strong contenders for my next set of tires on my truck I'm in the NY snowbelt, and want a single set of tires to run all year Comment from : @rusilver01 |
As someone that splits a lot of winter living in both the warm/dry and wet heavy CA snow with some light off roaring in the summer I’ve settled on BFG KO2 but I’m open to a better option Comment from : @davescott8352 |
I have the normal Outpost on my 07 Silverado 4x4 1500, plus we have them on a 06 Yukon Denali AWD and a 97 Chevy suburban 4x4 at work I've owned all kinds of tires from Toyo AT, Cooper, Firestone, etc and the Outposts are the best Very, very quiet and very, very good in the rain I live in the Pacific NW so we know rain And like I tell people Nokian invented the winter tire Comment from : @peterpeterson7784 |
Winter in Canada has many faces and multiple dirty tricks for the average driver I enjoy these videos but in my opinion they lack specific data such as the different climates When your road testing you never mention humidity levels along with surface temperatures and all the hundreds of variables like different road surfaces, snow cover, black ice, wet snow, snow and salt mixture, cold slush, warm slush, asphalt, gravel, dirt etc A great winter tire must perform in all these conditions As for the all 'weather' tire fad, it's only good for the lazy or cheap person who can't bother changing tires twice a year All 'weather' tires can't perform as well as winter tires and are not as good as all 'season' tires It's obviously a compromise tire at best
brSpecific type of vehicles will perform differently with different tire brand or model One brand can really shine on a 4X4 ½ ton pick-up and poorly on a mid size AWD SUV and again on a FWD sedan Like I mentioned the variables are nearly infinite When push comes to shove I advise people to not compromise when it comes down to what keeps your butt off the asphalt Winter requires winter tires
brGreat viewing as always Comment from : @palco22 |
How about when the road has not been plowed? Comment from : @darylRvillaescusa |
The test I REALLY want you to doNokian Outpost nAT vs BFGoodrich K02 The K02 is widely rated as one of the best all-terrains for off-roading, and the best for snow Is the nAT better in snow than the K02? Can the nAT keep up on rocks, gravel, and mud versus the K02? Comment from : @elektro3000 |
All I know is stock tires that came on my truck (Yokohama G015) is absolutely terrible in winter - It is possible that I am just too used to dedicated winter tires Comment from : @Algonqiun |
Nokian, the one and only! Comment from : @serge414 |
I am just waiting for mainline dealers in the US to carry the vraious sizes I figured that th nAT would be better on snow and ice than other AT tires Comment from : @JMhmmm1 |
Gonna definitely get some outpost At tires when my all weathers need replacing Comment from : @modarkthemauler |
I live in America, and wish we had the Hilux here We always want what we can't have right? Comment from : @TheShootingBrake |
