My Godparents were only children when hitlers’ air force invaded Holland They were in the fields, and watched as a squadron of planes flying overhead When they reached the city, they began dropping bombs brMy Godfather recounted how he was almost rounded up for one of those youth induction camps They had to hide in one of a fields worth of haystacks The ss were using pitchforks to stab into the hay, when he and his friend wouldn’t come out brbrThese are very dark days😱😨😰😥

One of the things that struck me when going through the Holocaust museum in DC was listening to a woman say how neighbors and classmates cheered when her family was evicted from their apartment People they considered friends for years
