Times have sure changed I learned to fly in 1973 I soloed at 6 hours and passed my PPL at 35 hours Got my instrument rating in 1992 I built and flew 3 experimental “home built” aircraft over the yrs My second homebuilt was a Rutan Defiant push pull twin engine canard aircraft flew that one deep into the Caribbean islands, Puerto Rico etc flew it to Alaska 3 times from Chicago I recently received my Wright Bros 50 yr award From the FAA I think the award was for flying home made airplanes for 50 years and not seriously crashing At age 81 I have just sold my last aircraft What a trip, wonderful memories, and grateful for all those great mentors

I dont Know if this is current, But at 35 hours (in a Cessna 140) my instructor said she was recommending me for a check ride I told her I thought I needed 40 hours, but she said if you’re recommended by your instructor at 35 you can take your check at 35 Anyway, I had my license at 36 1/2 hours

Hey everyone Im in need of some help Does anyone know any aviation scholarships or grants that I can look into? Being a pilot is my dream but I just don't have the money to pay out of pocket I would use the money I make from work however I only make just barley enough for my car payment which is $415 a month brbrI thought maybe going to a part 141 school would be a good idea but that has been kind of an epic fail as I can get no flight hours and the school wants me to pay $15,000 in student loans plus $270 dollars per hour This also does not include my tuition or housing fees brbrI am now a junior and will soon graduate and be forced to go out into the real world I don't even have a single hour logged to my name and I am just not sure what to do Any tips?

What's the cheapest way to get ppl knocked out My goal would be to fly commercial for a charter or airline but I've heard from others to get the ppl first to save a few bucks via certain steps such as online ground school as opposed to attending classes at a part 61?? Can you break all this down?

Did my discovery flight as part of a college course I took as filler I had always thought it would be cool to learn, but I never thought I'd actually get the change to fly I had no idea it could take such little time to get my PPL, which I've wanted to finish ever since Maybe it's time to start looking in earnest I'm already working on my remote pilot cert, so I've got a head start on a little bit of the ground school portion

Go to Australia, when the nearest beers 530 miles away , you soon learn to fly , at 23 I sat with a old piss head called Kieth after the second trip I learned how to land a Cessna 172 , after that I did a two day round trip on the piss run , two weeks later I was flying solo 😂😂😂 true story
