Thanks for being honest! I find with money a lot of people mainly men haha seem to very much exaggerate their pay With the way society is now people feel they have to lie about how much they make because we put so much importance on how much you make as if that makes you a better person My job has zero impact on peoples lives I would of loved to be a police officer but I got into to much trouble in my 20s haha

Did 25 years in Las Vegas made about 180k as a lieutenantnow retired and make 140k a year in my pension The saying that you don't become a millionaire being a police officer is not always true The pension is like winning the lottery I'm now enjoying a second career

You have your masters degree👏👏👏👏 I'm finishing my bachelors now Long beach CA pays $3856-$5014, and $3471 in the academy Lots of incentives like education pay up to $3104/hr I read the average officer income was $165k, lots of OT I guess I start the academy Oct 26, pray for me girl Haha ♡

Starting salary for LAPD is 67k and for living in LA/socal that’s nothing 😩

I’m at a large department in NH, we start off at about 52K No shortage of overtime so some officers in their first few years are taking home 80K or more Even some smaller local PDs top out at $33 an hour after a couple years, it’s a great state for police work NH has no sales tax but property taxes are increased, nonetheless the cost of living is very reasonable, there aren’t many full time officers who can’t afford to live in a house Retirement is 25 years which is a drag but with overtime you can save enough money to invest properly and get out sooner

Hi LC, it's only your first year! I'm sure you have steps of salary grades that will give you more money each year until you reach top step Typically in 5-6 years! I started at about $34,000 yr and retired at around $90,000 24 years later You should also have the opportunity to work overtime also, weather becaus of shift shortage or as we liked to say," collars for dollars" (arrests)! 😆 Hang in there did and stay safe! 💙
